Amelia felt her mood brighten just with speaking to the receptionist, removing her hands from her pockets to rub them against her cold cheeks. She was a nice enough woman, and it was nice to see someone who didn't decide to suddenly become a recluse. The General held in a grumbled comment about her 'visit' with Tibarn. She quietly shed her winter coat and gloves, now that she was indoors, and sat silently in the meeting room. Hopefully Rhys wouldn't take too long to come.
She rose to her feet when Rhys appeared in the doorway, letting him remove the mask and gloves before crossing the distance between them and hugging him. Oh Goddess, he's warm. "I'm fine, fine... glad to rest today. I can't imagine patrolling in this cold weather... wearing armor..." Amelia shuddered a little and rubbed her arms.
"I did run into a few people, though. A tiger laguz--never met him before now--and he seemed okay enough, but Tibarn said he was lazy and didn't seem to approve. Don't see what right he's got to make comments on my life, what with him working at the Duke's Head now and acting like a hermit... says he'll see us but never has..." Amelia snorted through her nose, not exactly realizing what she'd said.
[[Actually, you know what, I'll tack Blossom's post onto here. Simply using colors as a result to avoid HUUUGE blurbs of just poststyle.]]
Blossom watched the view just out of the window, smiling at all the snow outside. There weren't a lot of people scurrying around the Cafe, but there were enough for her to see all of the tracks that had been left behind. It was just so pretty outside, it was really no wonder she liked winter so much...
She paused. Was someone calling for her? "O-Oh! Coming!" Blossom rushed over to the purple-haired girl, rubbing her hair off of her face and adjusting her headband. "My apologies! What would you like to order? We have coffee that has been freshly made if you'd like that," Blossom offered. She removed her pad from her pocket again, waiting expectantly.

Aruna raised herself to kiss Ganon on the cheek when she heard the ever important call to duty. “Hold that thought,” she interrupted. “I’ll save this for later.” She winked to her reptilian lover then turned to face the direction of the voice.
Just as she was about to go to the newcomer’s table, Blossom quickly stumbled there to take the girl’s order. So much for that.
“Or maybe not,” she murmured. Aruna began to chuckle. “Perhaps I should just supervise since Blossom has everything covered.”

(THE POST COLORS SUGGEST BLOSSOM'S IN THE HOSPITAL WHY I AM SO CONFUSED D8 )
Rhys looked up in bewilderment as Blossom came over to hug him. Srsly, what happened to his wife, and why was Blossom here all of a sudden? Rhys held her close--Goddess, she must be cold!
"Yeah. I'd hate to be wearing armor on a day... like... this?" Rhys paused, going over Amelia's last part. What was that, now, about a Tibarn and a Duke's Head and a...
"Wait. What?" Rhys looked confused. "Tibarn? I haven't seen him in some time. You saw him? Is he okay? And what on earth is the... oh! That restaurant that's been gaining in... in... that star-rating thing? So HE'S the head chef there?"

Green eyes widened. Wait, what did I say? She looked over to Rhys, suddenly looking frightened. "W-Wait, Rhys, I didn't--Please, you can't tell anyone! He told me to keep it a silent!" Amelia put her hands on his shoulders. "I mean... yes, he's doing fine, and he is cooking there, but don't... don't tell anyone, okay?"
Amelia let out a little breath, looking down. Now Tibarn's going to find out I told Rhys and... and... "Nhh..." Amelia muttered, closing her eyes for a moment. Stupid stomach... Maybe I should've stayed at home.
"Uh... h-how are your patients doing today?" Amelia asked, smiling sheepishly. Quick, change the subject! "I bet you're glad you don't have to go out and about i-in this cold, huh?" she questioned, smiling. Her stomach twitched, but she kept her expression the same.

"Oh I would like some hot chocolate and a slice of banana nut bread." Clara said with a smile. "This is a nice place you got here." She took her sword off her left hip and placed it to the side of her. It was getting uncomfortable sitting down with her sword like that.
"Sorry about that." She said,"My sword was a little annoying the way I had it."

Rhys found himself startled as Amelia's expression turned to "scared". Keep it a silent? Wha--oh, SECRET. Duh. "So he just doesn't want anyone to disturb him, or something? ...Okay, then I won't tell anyone," he said. He doesn't want to be bothered? I wonder why...
Unlike Amelia, Rhys did know of one past case similar to Tibarn's--a long time ago, at the end of the War of the Goddess. Ike had once said, "I'm sick of all this 'kill or be killed' business." He'd made good on this feeling by sailing from Tellius. Nobody had ever seen him again. Whether he'd actually found a new land to become a hermit in or whether he'd drowned at sea, nobody knew...
...But maybe that's why, Rhys mused. He does have a family now. Maybe it was just really hard on him, fighting day in and day out, on one side or the other. He knows the guild still gets involved, so if he gets involved with us, he feels more fighting will be inevitable...
Amelia's change of subject appeared to wash over him--not that he didn't listen to her, but sometimes he just got focused on what someone else said beforehand, and then drowned everything else out for a moment.
"...I'm sorry, what?" His eyes came back into focus, staring into hers. He was, however, able to guess from the look on her face that Tibarn was not a subject she wanted to bring up... she was cold, work with that Rhys, yes...
"...Oh, yeah. Well, it would be nice if more people could enjoy the snow," he said, taking a very good guess at an answer, "but I can't complain about the warmth in here, that's for sure. So much harder to keep rooms warm back at the castle--the darn thing's all stone, after all."

Blossom nodded once and noted that away. "All right!" she responded. She paused, though, as the girl continued to speak. "Oh, no, it's not my place. I only work here. Ganon and Aruna run it with Loch and Vika. I'm only a hostess." Blossom laughed sheepishly, tucking away the pad. "In any case, I'll be right back, okay?" With that, she scurried off and into the kitchen. She emerged within just about five minutes, with the banana nut bread on a plate and a steaming mug next to it.
"Here you are," Blossom chirped, smiling. She took the payment for the food, then looked over to Aruna and Ganon. The two were off near the stage, Aruna all dressed and looking rather nice.
"Good to see you down here," Blossom called over with a smile. She rushed over, stopping near the naga. "I'm not sure how many customers we'll get today past this, actually, what with all the snow."
-----
Amelia nodded and looked away from Rhys, still gripping onto his shoulders. Her hands tightened a little, but her expression seemed to relax again when the topic shifted away from Tibarn and back to what she had been asking Rhys.
"That's... that's good," Amelia responded. "And the high... ceilings and all, yeah," she added. She paused, looked back at Rhys, and gave an uncertain smile. Her footsteps were light as she moved to the chair, pushing her arms through her jacket and buttoning it up securely. "I...I think I'm going to get back home, actually. Feeling kind of off. I'll see you when you come home, all right?"
The General ran one hand through her hair, stomach quailing again. Have I even eaten anything since breakfast? "Love you, Rhys," she murmured. She reached up on her toes and gave him a brief kiss. Her expression seemed to brighten just a little with that, but as she waved and started out the door, she put one arm around her stomach, like she was holding something in.

"Love you too," he answered, his lips meeting hers. She looked happier afterward, which made him smile in return... at least, until he noticed her putting an arm around her stomach.
Years of practice being sick taught you only too well what that gesture meant...
"Are you alright?" he asked, leaning down to grasp a wastebasket (just in case). "Do you need to sit down for a moment? Nobody's going to be using this room right away or anything..."

"Still it looks nice." Clara said. Five minutes later her food came. "Oh thank you." She smelled the hot chocolate and sighed. This was going to be a good meal. She sipped some of the hot chocolate before taking a bite of the banana nut bread.

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look →forward→. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia}The General hesitated at the door for a moment. He had enough to worry about right now, he didn't need to deal with her... at that moment, her stomach churned and Amelia immediately was relieved that he had offered the trashcan. She turned and lurched towards him, seizing the basket from his hands, and--
Hyurrrrgh.
Amelia coughed once into the wastebasket, rubbing her mouth with the back of her hand. "I...S-Sorry," Amelia mumbled. She put down the wastebasket slowly and stood up straight, grimacing inwardly at the taste in her mouth. She looked at Rhys, then slowly took her seat again. "Yeah... that might be good. Just for a bit. I'll be out of here before you know it." She ran a hand through her hair, trying to swallow down the taste of bile off of her tongue. "You should, um, probably get back to work..." {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. The goddess is supposed to be all‑forgiving, right? You've worked hard and you deserve to do some things that make you happy. I think she'd forgive you for it."

Edward wandered into the street. He looked around and sighed as he saw a snowflake fall. It seemed like it was about to snow and he had no place to go. He shivered as a cold breeze blew and he put his back to the wall. "Where can I go to warm up? At least I have a hat and these gloves." the Myrmidon wrapped his arms around himself and sneezed. "ACHOO!!!" Edward sniffed and sat down. "Ugh..."

At first, it looked as though Amelia was trying to keep her stomach under control. She failed admirably, commandeering the basket. For his part, Rhys kept his food down--there was just something about somebody retching that started a chain reaction with people. Perhaps it was the fact that there'd likely be more times like this, he knew, so he'd better get used to it.
"It's fine," Rhys assured her, looking just a tad paler but determined not to look fazed in the least. "It should pass shortly."
He nodded. "Yeah, like I said, it's been busy around here. I'll be home in time for dinner today, though, you can count on it. See you then!"
And he closed the door behind him, leaving her to, in a word, get her act together. Someone could take care of the mess once she left.

Yeah, all right," she murmured. She sank back into the chair, already feeling better, now that she'd emptied out her stomach. She tried not to pay attention to the smell when Rhys continued, nodding briefly to show that she had listened.
"Mmm..." Amelia rubbed her other hand against her forehead and stared at the ceiling for a few moments. She didn't speak, didn't even really think; she just sort of let her mind go blank as she relaxed into the chair, waiting for the fading pangs of nausea to pass. It didn't take long, thankfully; after about five minutes, Amelia slowly stood, readjusting the buttons of her jacket and pushing her hands in her pockets, and exited the room quietly. She was tired now, or more accurately, she didn't feel like walking around anymore.
Some more sleep sounded nice. {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. --LATER. Feel free to ignore the time shift here if you like--
Rhys stepped outside into a cold and brief sunset, his work finally finished. He was tired from all the running around. He just wanted to get home, find a nice book, and curl up somewhere warm...
Oh. And at some point, ask Vika about that wager she'd proposed...

Speaking of Vika, she always had the perfect timing. She was on lunch break. No one was going to be buying booze at this hour anyway. So she skirted the town of Eyris, looking for something to do. And there was a thought stuck at the back of her mind, so she needed to find Rhys. But where could she find him? She pondered this thought as she approached the hospital. She needed a newspaper and the newspaper stand was right beside it. And she was a very big supporter of local news. Now, if only she could find Rhys, her day would be set!
