Incultyr&&Morana&&Altus

Incultyr felt something slam into him from behind, and he let go of the horn to avoid being smacked against the Rhyhorn. Bouncing once against Puer's back, he landed on the ground behind him, and just barely managed to stay on his feet. He turned and watched as the Scyther talked to his partner.

Altus and Morana came up to him then, sensing the end of the battle.

"Hey, you OK Ink?" Altus asked, looking for something in his bag. Incultyr glared back at the Riolu, promising death if he ever called him Ink ever again. Altus only grinned at the silent threat.

He tossed something at the Larvitar, who caught it in midair. Looking down, he glared at the Oran berry in his palm.

"I don't need it." says him right before he gulped it down. The healing effects of the berry made him feel better right away. Damn these things are good.

Altus took out a second one ((The last one my team has btw, so he better be grateful D<)) and walked over to Puer and Tolin, offering it to the Rhyhorn.

"Good battle. I haven't seen anyone give Ink such a hard time before." He ignored Incultyr glaring daggers at his back.

Why does every damn person insist on shortening his name to Ink? Dammit.

"The name's Incultyr!" He growled.

"I am Altus, and this here is Morana. We are Team Polaris."

Puer & Tolin

Puer shook his head. "No thank you. I have been taught to regard scars as a sign of pride." He turned slightly to face the Larvitar, bearing an amicable smile. "It was a good fight. I apologize if I injured your comrade. I... hope you do not think ill of me for... earlier events."

Puer was, independently, a rather polite individual. He had been taught to value strength, and respect those in battle. He had also been taught to carefully discern the difference between fighting someone and simply speaking with them. Battle is by nature a bloody, violent affair; one should not judge simply by one's fighting.

"Thank you for teaching my partner a sorely needed lesson." Tolin reached into his bag (which seemed to simply appear; even Puer was not sure where he had gotten it from) and pulled out a sheet with some writing on it. "Should you ever need my help, I would be glad to give it. Please contact me if you need assistance, if only on a whim." The paper had an address within the guild dormitories, presumably their address within the west wing.

"Now, I'm afraid we must be going. We have a mission to attend to." Tolin bowed slightly before turning off and exiting the arena. Puer followed suit.

Acertus xx Saesia

It was a fairly quiet walk to the training fields. Acertus glanced over at his new partner, who was keeping up pretty well considering her lack of any limbs. And the fact that she also had on a small backpack was not to be under-appreciated. Once they battled for a bit and got to know each others' fighting styles, they could start taking missions.

Saesia fought the urge to slump over onto the ground and shed her backpack as soon as they reached the training grounds. Feeling much lighter without the burden, she flicked her tongue out with a small, slightly impatient grin. Oh, this one looked like he knew what he was doing alright. Her very first taste of a true fighter! "Shall we get started? I'm eager to see what you can do."

"Nothing permanently damaging, Saesia." Acertus gave her what he hoped was a stern and righteous look. So, obviously, when she outright laughed at him, he was offended and felt the need to explain. "I don't want to have to waste a week because one of us has to recover from a simple training battle."

That came out harsher than he intended. Oops.

Saesia coiled herself lazily with a bit of a smirk. This was a tactic she used often on the Pokemon back home. "First, Sae. Only my mother calls me Saesia, and I'm pretty sure you're not her. Second, if we don't go all-out, how do we know what we can really do, hn?"

"Sae, then," Acertus relented with a sigh. He took a few steps towards her. He had to be patient, patient... patience. Even if her smirk was infuriating. "I understand that this is your first time seeing a team in action, but there are certain precautions to ensure that team members don't- what are you doing!"

Only pure instinct helped him jump out of the way as Saesia unexpectedly sprang at him like a missile with her jaws stretched wide open, using the muscles in her thing but strong body to propel herself. It was a more than a little startling when she slammed right into another nearby Pokemon and bounced off them onto the ground. And on the ground was where Saesia laid for a few seconds, more than just a little bit dazed. She'd... definitely miscalculated her own leap.

Zosee && Zero

Zosee and Zero sat in the middle of the training field, watching the fights around them with mild interest. They came here for no better reason than to kill boredom. They've been visiting Morana every day since they've found her team pretty much all struggling to recover at the Hospital, but it wasn't like they could spend all day there.

Unfortunately, this wasn't all that terribly exciting either. A lot of the pokemon training here were amateurs, and the two of them couldn't help but spend time critiquing the fighting styles of all the kids.

"Maybe we should just go home. We haven't told mom and dad that we're still alive have we?" Zosee told her partner past a yawn, and the glaceon nodded absently.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that...I suppose it would be a good thing to tell them..." Zero replied casually.

Their conversation was interrupted however, as Zero suddenly whirled around to his left, much faster than his laid-back attitude seemed to hint at. There, an ekans had shot at a blue growlithe, missed, and was heading straight at him.

Instinctively, he froze all the moisture around him onto his fur, creating a protective coating of hard ice. That wasn't necessary though, for he also brought up a shimmering barrier front of him, against which the red Ekans smacked against.

Zosee walked up to the poison type's side.

"Hey, you ok there kid?" She asked.

"Hmmm...sorry about that, maybe I should have just dodged..." He apologized, letting the shimmering barrier dissipate. He loosened his hold on the temperature around his body, allowing the ice he had created to melt. He didn't seem to mind that this made his fur damp and wet.

Acertus xx Saesia

Well, it served her right to try and spring a surprise attack at him when he'd only been trying to be polite. Acertus sighed when she flew right into another pokemon, and began making his way over to make amends. His steps faltered as he got closer to the pair of pokemon but he came to a stop next to his partner.

He frowned a little as he realized that he'd heard of these two. They formed an exploration team that was pretty well-known around these parts. Although something was wrong with this picture. Acertus cleared his throat and put on his 'leader' face. "I apologize for the inconvenience that is- that my partner caused the two of you."

Here, he prodded Saesia meaningfully, snapping her out of her stupor. She shook her head a little to clear it before coiling herself and dipping her head into a bow. ...It was possible that the action was a bit wobbly. Just a quick apology and then let Acertus handle the rest. Right.
"I'll be fine. Probably. Sorry I bumped into you, I was aiming for the stick in the mud."

Okay, that one was worthy of the Look Acertus sent her way. "I was just..." Acertus trailed off as he stared at the pair in front of him. He remembered now. About a year and few months ago, their death on an exploration mission had been the talk of the guild. They were either the liveliest-looking dead Pokemon he had ever seen, or they weren't dead. Which was, as odd as it sounded, strange. Of course, this was assuming they were the team he was thinking of.

Zosee && Zero

Zero raised a paw, waving it in a 'don't worry about it' gesture.

"Hmm, no harm was done, so it's all fine. We shouldn't have sitting so near a sparring pair anyways." He told the two, smiling warmly.

Zosee waited for the growlithe to finish his sentence, but it didn't take her long to realize that he had probably forgotten what he was about to say. After a few silent seconds, Zosee realized what must have caused this.

Hmm, wasn't she and Zero quite well known before they headed off for the mountains? Since Morana had made it quite clear she and the rest of their family had thought the two of them dead, word probably travelled around.

Ah well, whatever.

"So, how long have you two been working together? Any successful missions recently?" Zosee asked, shifting slightly into a more comfortable sitting position, since the silver bangles on her hind leg was pinching her fur.

Zero only then seemed to have noticed the state he had left his fur in with the freezing all the water against himself and whatnot. He didn't care too much- except that wet fur has this annoying tendency to make everything stick to it. With a sigh, he brought a paw up and started to lick it dry.

Acertus xx Saesia

Saesia waited for Acertus to answer the Electrike's question for a few beats. When he stayed silent, she turned to make sure he was alright. It almost looked like he had worked himself into some kind of stupor. She hadn't insulted him that badly! "Not long. This was our first training battle, to 'get accustomed to each other's fighting styles'. We were going to go grab a mission after this."

From the way Saesia so casually spoke (and made fun of his speech), it was clear she had never heard of Team Absolute Indignation. Not surprising, considering the obscure little village she had come from. Settling down into a more comfortable position, Acertus added, "We're Team Epsilon. I am Acertus, and this is my partner, Saesia."

The team name was the first thing they had agreed on. A good team name was pretty important for creating image. Nobody wanted to hire a team called 'Team Sparkly Fluffy Rainbows'. If they did, then... they were seriously messed up in the head. Or heads, in the case of some Pokemon.

In any case, since he'd introduced himself, they'd have to do the same. And he could finally ask, without unintentionally provoking them, why exactly everyone thought they were dead. It just didn't make sense for such a good team to want to disappear off the radar. And having powerful allies was a good thing for any team. Maybe Saesia doing what she had done wasn't such a bad thing after all.

Zosee && Zero

Ah sweet, newbies! It's always great to see the beginnings of what might one day become a great team. By the sounds of it though, these two might need to work on getting along a bit better- either establish an undisputed leader or be able to work together really well. Ah well, they'll figure these things out soon enough if they don't get themselves killed.

Team Epsilon eh? Epsilon would be...one of the ancient alphabets if Zosee remembered correctly. Not bad, much easier to say than their own Team's name. Of course, they hadn't come up with their name for the sake of leaving an imprint on grateful clients- theirs was for leaving an imprint on the world.

"Well, we're Team-" "-Absolute-" "-Indignation. I'm Zosee, and this is-" "-Zero. Nice to meet you."

It's been many many long months since they've done that, but they still knew each other well enough to time it perfectly. Zosee turned to look at Zero with a grin, and the glaceon returned it with a small nod.

Acertus xx Saesia

"Now there's a mouthful to say," Saesia commented with a small grin. They must be pretty close if they could finish each others' sentences like that. Reminder to self: ask Acertus about Team Absolute Indignation later. He seemed pretty knowledgable about exploration and rescue teams, so he probably knew something about them.

'Lo and behold when he started talking.

"I have heard of Team Absolute Indignation..." Acertus started, a little hesitantly. He saw the curious look Saesia gave him, and directed the latter part of his response to her as much as to the glaceon and electrike. This was information she should know after all. It'd do no one any good to keep it from her."Though the last I heard, they had died on a mission. You're not that team?"

Zosee && Zero

Zosee grinned, giving a little bow.

"The one and only. Though I don't think we're dead." She told them. Ah, so the little guy did know them!

"We were exploring the mountains past Thunder Ridge, and ah...complications arose. We were trapped up there for quite a while, and we've only just managed to make our way back." Zero explained in a casual manner, and then went right back to his paw-licking.

Zosee shrugged, fighting past a yawn.

"The wild Pokemon up there are all pretty cranky." She didn't care to explain further. Their stay up the mountains was not a pleasant experience.

Acertus xx Saesia

"It sounds like it's a miracle you two survived," Saesia said, with bit of awe in her voice. She didn't know where or what Thunder Ridge was, but it sounded like a pretty unpleasant place to stay, especially for however long these two must have been there. They must be incredibly strong!

That was an exciting thought. This was a completely different level than the little scuffles back at her village. This was the big leagues. Maybe if she asked them nicely, they'd share the secret of their success. Or maybe teach her some expert techniques!

Acertus agreed completely with her, though he tried to keep from sounding too surprised. To have survived so long in Thunder Ridge... Well, he should have expected nothing less from an experienced exploration team like them. "It's fortunate that you're all right."

Well, what else was he supposed to say? Acertus didn't really know them, so it wasn't like he could express relief at their living...ness.

"Since you're alive and kicking, do you have any advice or tips for us newbies?" Saesia asked eagerly.

Zosee && Zero

"It wasn't too bad. It would be a challenge for city Pokemon I can imagine, but the two of us grew up in a wild clan." Zosee replied casually, amused at Saesia's awe. She opened her mouth to answer the ekan's next question, but was cut off as some nearby pokemon screamed "DUCK!".

Now, in the training fields, "duck" can only mean one thing, and it definitely wasn't water fowl.

Turning to the side, Zosee saw a thunderbolt more or less coming their way, zigzagging through the air. In the blink of an eye a glowing blue barrier dome appeared in a large circle around Zero, encompassing all four of them.

The thunderbolt attack smashed into the barrier, and continued going, though weaker than before. A portion of the original attack glanced off and shot right back at the Pikachu who had fired it.

Zosee ran around Zero, the speed inherent of her species making her a blur, into the line of the weakened thunderbolt, and harmlessly absorbed it.

This all took probably less than a second (lightning tends to go pretty fast). Zosee discharged the excess electricity into the ground, less she kills the next person she touches, and casually strode right back to where she was.

"Yes. Know your partner-" "- and trust your partner. You are a team after all."

Acertus xx Saesia

The display they had shown just then definitely helped prove the integrity of the piece of advice they gave. Saesia didn't doubt it, but... She glanced over to Acertus with a skeptical look. "I don't know about trusting him, since we just met and all, but I think I can safely say that there could be worse. I could've gotten a Pidgey for a partner."

This time, Acertus recognized her teasing as nothing more than just playful jabs, as opposed to the jab at his capability like before. He really needed to get out more if he couldn't even tell if something was a joke or not anymore. But the duo was right and he mentally berated himself for forgetting something as basic as that.

"In that case, we should get back to our training, so we can get to know and trust each other," Acertus gave a small smile. He was not a stick in the mud, damn it, and he was going to get her to take back those words! He turned to the other team. "Thank you for the advice."

Kain User Imageand KyoUser Image

Kain stood in front of one of the straw dummies then slowly got on all fours ready to attack. ''This should be good.'' Kyo said standing against the wall far enough from Kain in case he went berserk. Kain ran at the dummy then jumped into the air and kicked the dummy on the side of its head then grabbed its shoulders and jumped so he was on the roof. Kyo watched him surprised at how fast he was now compared to their last training session, kain drop kicked the dummy afterward he did a back flip and used flame wheel on it burning the dummy to the ground. ''Lets go to the next one.'' he said breathing heavily.

Kain looked at the wooden dummy then quickly started his attack kicking the dummy from all sides then scratched it, he fell to the ground then roundhouse kicked the dummy making a small dent in its head. ''this is nothing.'' he growled then reversed heel kicked it in the chest.

Luna & Gary

Luna pried Gary off of her back, helping him settled down into the grass next to the training field.
With him taken care of, she was free to train.
She twirled her bone club in her stubby fingers, setting herself up in front of one of the dummies.
She leaped forward, smacking the dummy with the club, and twisting it to make several more hits in various areas, before her time limit of three seconds was up, and she leaped back again.
She repeated this over and over, trying to get more hits in each time.

~~~~~
A few hours later, the tired Cubone returned to Gary's side, pulling him back up onto her back.
Luna left the Training Field, happy to go home and take a nice, long nap.
