Alex grinned.
“I think we should watch a movie... just to say we tried.” Just like before, his lips found hers, but instead of being demanding, he was sweet. He pulled the blanket around her tightly, like a cocoon for his little butterfly. Memories of his mother doing that for him flashed through his mind’s eye. After every fight, after every rage his father would go through, she would always find a way to make Alex feel safe and loved, even if she didn’t feel the same. He hoped that Jess would feel that, too. Safe and...cared for. Love was still out of reach for him at this point.
“But like I said, if you need anything, if you want anything, just tell me.”

She smiled. "All I really want or need now is you..." She sighed not caring how cheesy it sounded. She was silent just a moment as if thinking of how to word the next part.
"...It's...Nice to have someone to turn to I dont have to try to be anything with..." She started though wasnt sure if that was just right. "Someone who'll take me in without hesitation I mean. Make me feel welcome and comfortable...I dont know hardly anyone who would do that for me...." She looked up into his soft purple eyes, smiling distantly.
"So feel special..." She couldn't help but smile, her eyes twinkling, either from contentment, or from the subtle mist gathering in them. Either way, she leaned into him for a sweet embrace, even hearing his heart beat in time with her own.

"Oh, I do. I do..." A kiss was given to her ear, and his free hand searched for the remote. "Now... What movie will we watch?" He was still using his breath to tickle her ear and make her smile, and was sorely tempted to start another tickle fight with her, but since he was trying to keep things uncomplicated, he stuck with behaving.

She giggled, her cheeks flashing red as chill bumps ran up and down her neck and body.
"W-whatever you want, I told you Im not picky. What's your favorite movie of all time?" She asked between laughs.

And so, with the decision up to him, Alex chose a movie that was more action with some romance undertones. He wasn't going to be bored if he could help it, but he didn't want Jess bored, either. If her mind started wandering, she could be sent right back into the gloom she arrived in.
Alex snuggled down into the couch with her between his side and the back of it. She was warm enough to serve as his blanket, and he quite liked having her so close as they lounged.
"If I fall asleep," he whispered, "And you want to sleep, just wake me up and kick me out..."

She smiled up at him sleepily already. "That is if you fall asleep before me..." She yawned, snuggling into him. "But the same applies, feel free to shove me onto the floor." She scrinched her nose up at him with a smile slipping her arms about his middle in a sort of hug as she rested her head on his chest, all settled in to watch the movie.
She had completely forgotten about her things, clothes, anything all down in her speeder, butdidnt seem to care, being more than comfortable in his arms there.

"I'm not shovin' you to the floor..."
He was hardly willing to even move. The movie he'd seen before, so he just closed his eyes and concentrated on having Jess there beside him. She smelled wonderful, so much so that it was like having an aromatherapy treatment around him. Between her, his comfort, and the warmth from her body, Alex was fast asleep in no time at all...

The same went for Jess. She attempted to stay awake for the movie, though was much more interested in Alex and every little small thing he did. His steady breathing, his serene face, his also intoxicating smell, it was all so lovely she fell asleep moments after him, not even realizing it was the first time anyone had slept with her in a non sexual way since she was a child.
It was a wonderful, feeling that left her completely at peace inside, despite all the drama in the back of her mind. But again, Alex always had that effect.

Jess was enjoying her evening off.
Alex had accompanied her to get text books for the upcoming semester, then the two crushing young people picked up an absolutely luxurious dinner from the finest fast food establishment in the city....or so Jess convinced him.
They brought their treasures back to Alex's apartment, not wanting to disturb Kitty back at her place. Jess was still in the process of finding her own place, which had been put on hold because of Kitty's disaster.
But things were looking up. She was feeling pretty good about everything in her life, and just felt...content.
"Ah...Cuddling with hot yummy food on such a cold evening~ It's almost perfect huh?" She scrunched up her nose at Alex, lugging an extremely heavy back of books in one arm, holding a fast food bag in the other. "Make sure you dont drop the drinks or I'll make you walk back in the cold to get more." She gave him a joking evil eye as she waited for him to unlock his door for them.

"Tch, sweetie, I'm a drink holding expert."
Alex had adored walking through Veratia with Jess on his arm. They smiled, laughed, understood each other when nothing was even said. He was starting to become so attached to her that life seemed boring without her. Even while talking about Kitty and that Sam character, Alex managed to keep his calm just because he was out with Jess.
Once inside the apartment, Alex set down the drinks and took off his jacket. Their haven was warm and comforting, though not exactly fancy. Alex was working on the decorating, though. He'd even gone so far as to clean his room for once. Now it wasn't an embarrassment.
"Alright, I'll grab some plates and we'll get to eating before all this goes stone cold."

"Sounds good..." She said with a smile, taking off her own coat and shoes, leaving her bag of books at the door as well. "I'll make us a lovely little spot in the living room." She said with an exagerated accent, sticking her nose in the air as she carried the food nad picked up the drinks to bring them over to the coffee table.
She bit her lip in thought for a moment before heading over to the stereo, turning on some light background music that was calming and relaxing. "Hey....Alex?" She called, setting the drinks down.
"...It feels like forever doesn't it? Though...like no time at all..." She pipped up out of nowhere, hugging her knees as she sipped her drink.
"I mean how long we've been together...I dont even know exactly how long its been." She chewed on her straw idly, racking her brain to think of how long it had been.
(I'm being thrown off Devy. Dx I'm sorry)

"It's been... a month, I think." Maybe a little over a month. It was strange how Alex felt the same way. Time had just flowed until they took notice of it all.
He came out with the food all prepared. He settled down next to Jess and put an arm around her waist to pull her in close.
"Time flies when you're having fun." Alex kissed her cheek before diving in to his dinner. He'd been starving all day, now having precious food.

She smiled with a nod, diving into her own sandwhich with a smile. She chewed thoughfully as she let the thought of a month or so sink in. With this whol Samson thing going on, she was just really realizing how lucky she was to ahve a guy like Alex in her life. Someone who cared for her and loved being with her, not because they got something out of it, but just for the sake of being with her...
"I just...really appreciate you...." She added softly before sticking a few fries in her mouth. "I mean-" She swallowed and smiled. "Just for being there and being so wonderful.... This...really is the best thing in my life right now..." She gave him a sidelong glance before eating a bit more, a bit starved herself.

"You know... same here." Jess was what made him want to get through his cafe days. She was there when he was out of other jobs, waiting to see him. And she was there when they both had nothing else to do but be happy. Without her, life would be boring and slightly maddening.
"Aside from you, I have jobs and school... friends, of course, but everything's alright when I'm with you."
Alex nuzzled his nose against the side of her head, so he could smell her hair and be near her once more.

Jess smiled, leaning into his touch. "Thats exactly it... And what I love..." She took a french fry and poke him with it, before offering it to his lips. "Is how...I dunno...different I feel..." She sigheda bit htinking on it.
"I mean...since we've gone out...I've been doing better with school, been making a living on my own...and actually been really happy..." She stopped and smiled up at him on the last part, reaching up to push his bangs out of the way.
