Mariaka smiled sweetly at Edith with the unperturbed expression of a child, her bottomless eyes seeming to take in everything that made up Edith, and seemed to suck it up like a sponge, remembering and learning all there was she could about the woman. But her attention turned to Ceon when he snapped and said a strange word she did not know. "Mama?" She blinked, looking up at her suddenly very still mother.

Gabriel let out a light snarl at his father. So far he was making a very bad impression to his son, and making the boy dislike him more and more.

Layna just stared at Ceon, her grey eyes as flat and impenetrable as steel. When Edith made her way toward the children, she smiled, though it was thin-lipped. "This is my daughter Mariaka, and my eldest son, Gabriel. And I am Delayna Blackleafe. Besides my prior words, I am happy to meet you. But that b*****d of a man is ruining my already thin-ice mood. I believe I will take my leave. Edith, visit me sometime." She turned her attention back to Ceon, and her expression seemed to turn black, and there was an electric feel to the air around her for a moment. "Come within a hundred feet of me or my brood, and I'll rip off your genitals and make you eat them before I crush your skull." Her words were marked by an almost demonic smile.

With that, she gently took her son's hand, and held her daughter with her free arm. Without looking back, she exited the apartment, black mood seeping through the air like a plague.

In blind fury, Ceon picked up a nearby glass and chucked it at the door as Layna slammed it behind her. "FINE!!!" he screamed, "SEE IF I ********* CARE YOU DAMN MUTT!!!" As soon as his screaming subsided, he fell down to the ground, shaking. Ceon flipped out a cigarette quickly and lit it with a quivering hand. He was partially turned, most of his body covered in white fur, while his eyes were pitch black. The enraged lycan took a long drag, then let the smoke seep out of his mouth before inhaling it. He looked up at Eden, hurt in his eyes, "I.....I'm sorry you had to see me like that. Today....today just hasn't been a good day....not good at all..." Ceon puffed furiously on the cigarette, letting the nicotine ease his nerves the best it could.

Meredith did not so much as flinch when the shattering of the glass assaulted her senses as it hit the door. She'd caught picking the glass up out of the corner of her eye as Layna invited her to visit sometime. It was a strange invitation given they'd just met and Meredith had divulged to her that she was, in fact, the hunter leader. However, she admired the woman's hospitality and kindness despite their differences. She would have to drop by one day, assuming she was able to follow Layna's trail back to where ever it was she happened to live since she hadn't exactly left the huntress with an address.

Once the glass had been shattered and Ceon's words had practically overpowered the sound of the solid piece hitting the door to burst into fragments falling to the floor, Eden turned to Ceon with a raised brow. Clearly the two lycans were not on good terms and that lead to her believing the apartment was likely in the state it was due to a physical confrontation between the two. "It's not a problem," the huntress responded flatly, the words were meant to be understanding but the tone she accompanied the words with suggested utter apathy. "I take it your family reunion did not play out as initially planned, then?"

There was a part of her that wanted to reach out and comfort him, the human side of her wanted to sympathize for him and comfort him. At the same time the calculating side of her knew that this was not fully one party's fault and if she knew Ceon at all, that he most definitely had something to do with why things had gone so awry. His temper hadn't seemed to have eased up all that well, it still plagued him. Meredith could not hide her slight smirk as she decided to lighten the mood by teasing Ceon slightly, "I see you haven't lost that temper of yours there, champ. Some things never change, huh?"

Ceon breathed haggardly and ashed the cigarette on the carpet that was already crusted over with blood. He stared at the ceiling, sorrow and anger mixing together throughout his being. "All I wanted was to be in a family again...Now my own children don't recognize me..." He glanced over, recalling the night he had so long ago with Eden, and the events that proceeded after. "Whatever happened to...you know...", he asked as he scanned her skinny figure, no longer a trace of pregnancy on her.

"Well swearing at her and throwing a glass at the door after her isn't likely going to earn you any brownie points. And if you spazz out like that in front of your kids you're just going to end up frightening them. You have to calm down, that's something I was telling you three years ago but you don't seem to have taken it to heart. I'm not here to lecture you, though, it's merely an observation on my part." She didn't feel like getting into an argument with Ceon, she wasn't trying to offend him. She was speculating and observing, making statements on things she felt he was perhaps oblivious of. The likelihood he'd take what she had to say to heart, though was next to none. After all, he hadn't changed at all these past three years.

The moment he turned to look at her she could tell by his gaze that he was thinking of something, perhaps a memory or perhaps he was contemplating her words. Regardless, for a moment he seemed calm and then he proceeded to ask her what he'd likely been contemplating the moment before. "Oh ... I'd rather not talk about it. Suffice to say I'm without a family too. I saw them, though, and they made beautiful angels. The prettiest thing I have ever seen in my life ... and I almost touched them but ... she wouldn't let me ... She wouldn't let me stay with them ..." Meredith had been looking upwards contemplatively for a time now but as she finished her sentence, her upward gaze faltered. Her head came to rest in her hands as her tear ducts overflowed and she sobbed quietly to herself.

Ceon smoked that cigarette down to the very end, then ashed it on the counter as he got up. Eden said she wasn't lecturing him, but it was the same lecture that every person that knew him had given him. Nobody ever really stopped to think about the good he done, all the times he had faced the odds to protect his pride and his family. It was then that he realized it; he was doing with the other lycans what Jaden had done with them when the humans found out about immortals. He kept them hidden because they were afraid of what could happen.

Ceon flipped his head over when he heard the gentle sobs of his the woman in his apartment. Reluctantly he walked over to her. He had mixed feelings, seeing on how they were never on the best of terms. Slowly, Ceon reached out his arms and embraced her, hoping she wouldn't punch him. They both needed some sort of comfort. "I....I got you..."

If there was one thing that Meredith had learned about life and people while growing up, it was that they didn't change. Ceon wasn't going to change. She wasn't going to change. No one was going to change. Only life-altering events changed people. Like the life shattering execution of someone who had been a dear and close friend to her. Like being forced to choose between her own life or that of her former fiance's. Those were the kinds of things that changed people. She'd hardened since those times, they'd made her grow, they'd cast a darkness upon her she'd never bore before that.

At first Meredith contemplated shoving him away, telling him not to touch her but she couldn't deny that she wanted to be held by someone. Right now it didn't really matter who it was, just someone, someone who could sit there and be there for her for a few moments. It had taken her off guard that he'd breach the distance between them to give her a hug of all things but deep down she did appreciate his course of action. Him telling her that he had her helped to calm her, there was someone here. Hopefully they wouldn't be going anywhere for at least a little while. She wanted to be held.

The huntress kept her eyes buried in her hands briefly but seem enough she emerged to mouth a silent 'thank-you' to Ceon. She then wrapped her own arms around his neck, her cheek resting against his chest while she stared past him, past this moment to better times when she wasn't reduced to a wreckage of tears and pain.

Ceon burst through the door with a dead member of the Nightwatch being dragged by his right hand. The renegade vampire had succumbed to a snapped neck at the hands of the Alpha lycan. Ceon would notify Rogue of his finding as soon as he got what he needed. These vampires occasionally patrolled through the apartments to make sure that stray lycans were not hiding in the desecrated homes. With a stride, Ceon dropped the carcass and headed to his closet, where he kicked clean through the plaster. A massive vault was hidden behind the facade, with which Ceon had held all of his belongings that had any sort of real value. He placed his eye to the retina scanner and a thin ray of light glided over his eyeball. The vault reacted with a charming 'ping' and the door squeaked open. Inside lay a myriad of weapons, from the tiniest pistols to hulking machine guns.

With a strong grip, Ceon reached towards some clothes that suited his fancy more than the suit Rogue left for him and pulled them off the hangers. Within minutes, Ceon was adorned with jeans, boots, an old band tee shirt, and a long black overcoat with straps and pockets on the inside. He then set to fit as many weapons as possible on his person, all filled with UV bullets. This was all happening so fast. It wasn't too long ago that he stood over the bodies of contending lycans, roaring for his achievement of Alpha Male. Ceon then left as swiftly as he had come in, making sure that the vault was closed and locked.

The first thing Ceon did when he entered his apartment was prop the dead vampire body against the yellow-stained wall so that it did not lie in a heap in the middle of his living room. He could hear the shuffling of feet from the floor above him, a sign that the refugees had moved from their haven and back into their rightful territory. This was good. This was progress. Ceon left the door open as a sign for Jacqueline to enter. She was a peculiar wolf and he felt like she might be key in reviving this endangered pack.

The tall lycan meandered over to the couch and plopped down, allowing himself to take in a breath of recurring normality. It had been too long since he could do anything in peace. He kicked off his shoes and socks and rested them over the arm of the couch, waiting for his quirky guest to arrive.

Jacqueleen had followed Ceon to an Apartment that was more like a Condo when she entered. 'Way too big to be just an apartment.' she scoffed in surprise and with a glance at him, she noticed immediately his modesty toward his life.

Entering into a living room area, first noticing the piano. It was beautiful, with ivory keys, she only stared with longing for those days in the jazz bars of New Orleans. Jacqie mentally smacked herself when she caught herself doing this and chuckled as if she had just been played by her malicious memories and just rolled her shoulders lightly. Having the dead body there, did not even bother her in the least.

Jacqueleen unconsciously began to unzip her boots to respect his place and not track around in it, as she bent over slightly, her hair glinted a deep red in the dim lighting of his Apartment, as it dangled over - so lengthy and full. Her eyes focused on the accomplishment of getting these damned boots off.

As she managed her boots and organized them against the wall, next to the door, Jacqueleen noticed this man had a purpose for her and her playfulness kicked in, "What do you want?" she asked bluntly and only smirked lightly and then began to adventure around his place, not asking at all. She skipped right over to the piano too. Her eye lit up as she slid onto the stool, she stared in reminiscence of the days..

Ceon liked that she didn't beat around the bush. These were important matters that must be tended to. The moment of relaxation was nice though; it reminded him of better times. "What I want is to restore this pack to its former glory. Recent events have driven us almost to extinction. What I want is to see what you can do to help the pack. What I want is to know what you want." Ceon sat up on the couch and watched Jacqueline pounce onto the piano bench. She seemed fascinated that this instrument would be in this apartment out of all things.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2013 10:29 pm

Jacqueleen only simmered down and got a knock in the head with his question of what she wanted. She contemplated a moment 'What I want...?'. She was confounded by his inquisition and she only glanced at him long and hard with her eyes, almost piercing, as her past seemed to bubble up and want to seem over the top.

Instead, she flicked her right index finger up at him, for a moment of silence. With a complete and utter seriousness, she played a soft-toned melody. The notes rang a happiness into the heavy atmosphere of the apartment where stress seem to be carried. She permitted him to have his moment of relaxation for a bit longer and continued playing this melody that just rang and picked up the mood of the staled air in the place. Jacqie's fingers swept across the keys as if she knew it her entire life.

After a few minutes of this peaceful song, her hands swung at her sides and she only kicked her legs up & over the stool, instead of the usual slide off. She pranced up over to the windows that were closed. Jacqueleen grabbed the blinds, pulling them up, allowing the starry night to light up the area and then pulled against the old, unused windows to bring in a burst of fresh air. She continued to do this throughout the entire apartment, mentioning boldly "It's awfully stuffy in here.", glancing over at him, "No offense..haha!" laughing at her lack of 'think before you speak' habit once more.

After he was possibly weirded out by her movement, she searched for his radio and tuned it appropriately to her favorite alternative rock station. Jacqie's eyes squinted with approval and a smirk formed as she turned to him and find her way beside him, sitting on the other side of the couch but crossed her ankles right over his lap, propping the side of her head up with the kink of her right wrist. She seemed to vibrate with the question he asked still. 'What do...I want....hmmm.'. Finding herself, she chuckled again, speaking her mind as she always did with a flail of her hands, "...I want a home.". As her eyes focused, like they never do. She was almost perplexed by it and then she continued, "Just like everyone else. So what we need to do, is not worry about who is in the home, or how many is in it but the condition of the home." and her eyes flicking up to the ceiling and then over the radio.

Directly after her answer, Jacqueleen's lemon-squeezed eyes narrowed in on him and asked, "...Now your turn." she asked him. Regardless of what he asked her or what he said he "wanted", she still wanted to address the question against him as well. Diverting a bit of what she was asking also, she mentioned, "Why do YOU have that piano anyways...?", reluctantly asking because she personally fancied a man who could play the piano, "It's not like you play it or nothin. It's a family heirloom, huh?" she doubted instintively, not sure of what his answer might be.

Ceon stood up off the couch and stretched his arms out towards the ceiling, nearly touching it. He began to walk over towards Jacqueleen and the piano. His apartment had become quite run down over the years. After all of the fights and thrown furniture that took place in here, Ceon was surprised the condition of the apartment was not far worse."The will come some day, not now though. The rest of our pack is just now coming out of hiding. I don't know where you might have been this past year, but we were driven out by vampires."

Ceon took a seat on the bench next to this other lycan and gazed longingly upon the ebony and ivory keys that lay before him. He stroked one and basked in the warm sound that resonated from it. "This was the only thing I could salvage from my old home before it burnt down. I was a lycan of class, fine tastes, and fine music. It was a big house not far from here, and it came crashing down not long after I had met my ex-mate. This is all I have left of my old life."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:11 pm

Jacqueleen watched him get in touch with his emotions quickly. Her eyes admired the story he told but the story came alive when she peeked a glimpse at his face. The story this man's face could tell, would simply destroy him if he did not assert himself back to those days of 'what used to be'.

As he rang the piano key, the night breeze swept into the apartment soothingly. Jacqie watched his pensive eyes, dive deep into the abyss of his past. She only watched him for but a moment and then resonated another piano key, higher-pitched in a ring of joy. Jacqueleen looked over at him to lock his gaze and looked into his soul and spoke with a tinge of wisdom she knows very well, "Ya know...there is nothing wrong with missing the past. It's okay to re-visit it in your mind, but be careful as you tread through that darkness, for it can & will consume you and everything dearest to you." she whispered it but it seemed to hum throughout the apartment.

Her eyes glanced downward to the right and she fluttered her lashes upward to glance around the apartment,"Some things....", playing three key notes of a celtic harmony, to implore her sincerity, "...need to be let go. But others, can be dusted off & re-used again." as she took her left palm, in what seemed to be years, dusted the top of the piano to reveal it's marvelous shine. Jacqueleen only took her right palm to do the same to the top of his head, "...there now. I've dusted you off.", she smiled lightly to him, "Now, it's time to stop feeling bad & allowing yourself and your life decompose in this dust of your past.", her mood appearing child-like but approached with a mature stance.

And as the moon was settling into the sky, she glanced over out into the sky from the nearby window and inhaled, as if she would just breathe in that aromas of the stars and exhale the magic they contained. Jacqueleen's eyes shifted downard in sympathy for this very complex man and then stood up abruptly to find his coffee-maker, filters and coffee. As it may have taken longer than normal, she began making coffee and she glanced over to him "A night cap!" she smirked over at him.

Ceon may have been confused as to why, she only shook her head, "The planning begins now. And yes....I'll help you." she nodded to him confidently, with sternness in her lemon-glinted eyes, full of promise.

Ceon's head snapped to the right, looking at Jacqueline with an unamused face. "It's nothing more than a momento. You're wrong to assume that I miss the past. You're wrong to assume in general. It only makes an a** out of you and me." At the touch of Jacqueline's hand to his head, Ceon abruptly stood up. The only person he wanted touching him right now was Edith, though that seemed only like hopeful thinking. The divide between lycans and hunters was so great, even with Edith being a lycan herself.

Ceon walked over to the coffee maker with his phone out, texting Rogue the address of his apartment. He wanted the dead body out of his apartment more than anything. "The plans are already in motion. Maybe later you can help. But for now, we wait." The second text in his phone was sent out to several lycans to come down to his apartment for safety.
