It had all been for a challenge. Tempo slid off the stage and noticed Dhiren leave, but decided against following him and digging himself a deeper hold. He hummed and headed for a table so the girls could take up the stage, where he slowly slid down to sit and played with his empty alcohol glass.
Maybe he had gone too far. He could agree with that. But at the same time, she had asked for it. It was just a challenge, not like he could do much about that sort of thing.
Watching Alice leave after, he crossed one leg over the other and bounced his ankle quietly, closing his eyes...before deciding he wanted some more alcohol. "Does anyone want anything to eat or drink? I'm going to the bar for a minute," he offered, figuring that the opinion on him had changed in the room, but he didn't give a damn. Tempo was tipsy and tired, he wasn't going to suck up or kiss a**...even though he was still in a pretty decent mood, surprisingly.

Pale broken wings, you're just a little tired
Phenex followed Demi up to the mic and stood with her as she sang. He watched her dance and quickly caught on mimicking her a little but changing it to look more masculine. He smiled as she sang and caught on to when he needed to join and mixed in happily, Demi's energy feeding him and helping him feel better. "Sekai ga kuchihatetemo!," He said as he added a spin to the steps and slid out to the side arms raising out to his side. "kawaru koto no nai mono ga aru! Namida wo koraete demo!" He said as he spun the other way and and smiled at Demi as he finished. "Mamorubeki mono ga bokura ni ha aru! Nanmannen nan'okunen mae kara no messeeji ga tainai de! uzukidasu narihibiku. Shagareta koe de, Asu wo yobu" He said emphasizing his movements as he danced with the words like Demi had done. He spun around again and smiled as he sang the last line of his part. "Kizudarake no te de, kimi mamoru! I continue to fight! I continue to fight!" He said happily as he looked at her so she could take over.

Belle's current action involved sneaking around, sticking close to the walls as she wandered around an unfamiliar place. She had been bored and thought that the smart thing to do would be to expand her horizons. Exploring wasn't really her thing, but for somebody who didn't like wandering around on her own she often found herself doing just that. If only there was a little social event. Someplace where she wouldn't be alone. The want that she was feeling reminded her of the fancy parties that her owners used to have. All the people having fun and dancing. Not dirty dancing though. Proper, danty dancing. Just then, as if her wish was granted in a snap, she heard a beat of music, booming and sounding like nothing she was used to, but still it was music. Plus, the sound of others. Others singing? Of course, since Belle had never heard her dear friend sing before it didn't occur to the Ragamuffin that it was Demi. Walking quickly she clicked her heels until she stumbled upon the source and walked inside. A wonderful bar sort of feel to the place. Karaoke it seemed. Belle only guessed though, because of the people getting up on stage and singing with that microphone. Wait a second. One of the people on stage caught her eye and yes, it was definitely Demi. The small fluffy tailed girl walked over to the foot of the stage and just stared up at Demi with a large smile. How could her best friend not tell her that she was a superstar? She sang so well, and her performance seemed so natural to her. Would the Bobtail see her through the lights on the stage? Maybe, maybe not, but Belle would find out. She stood there, waiting for Demi's finish as she swished her tail, but before she could get the girls attention she seemed to be with somebody. Who was this guy? Belle tilted her head slightly and took a step back from the stage. Should she interrupt?

Dhiren glared into the darkness of her hair as she turned away; smelling her tears before he had the chance to hear or see them. A longing pain tugged at him, but he refused to give in; it was an act after all. The entire reason he had refrained from getting close to anyone was standing before him, shuddering with her sobs. The tom wasn't about to roll over and apologize this time, she was just as much at fault as he. He didn't want to hear any of it anymore; the Somali didn't want to let himself crumble to her tears like he had done several times before. With one palm flat against the wall behind him, Dhiren pushed himself to his paws. His tail flickered behind him in ire and he ducked his head, warily keeping his scorching gaze on the temptress before him. "...Have Demi take you home." He growled lowly, finally dropping his gaze from her to consider the pavement impassively for a moment. With a flick of his tail, he turned from her and stalked out of the alley, pausing at the mouth to snip back over his shoulder, "Don't follow me. I... I don't care to entertain company right now."
Just as easily as that, the angry, hurt tomcat slipped back into his old, familiar ways and strode from the dark alley and the thumping beats of the karaoke cafe. The shadows of the night quickly engulfed his form as he left the busy clubs and shops and headed for the more secluded apartments.
Demi's smile broadened when Phenex let himself get into the dance, following her lead surprisingly well. The opening chorus kicked in again and the bobtail lent her voice to the words once more. Spinning into the Color-point's vicinity again, the young bobtail grinned up at him and repeated her earlier steps. This time, she finished by turning away from him and leaning back with her hands to her chest. Sinking to her knees, Demi signaled for her partner to take over and finish the song, curious to see what finale he would direct. So enthralled in her song was she, that the bobtail didn't notice the door to their private room opening to let in a familiar fluffy face.

Alice tilted her head up, just in time to see the other leave, her eyes locked on his until she was forced to look away. It was hard knowing to him they were just a joke… nothing more than empty words. She glared at her feet, telling herself that he wanted nothing more than a nights amusement in order to get angry… the female did angry better than shame. It wasn’t her fault he got out of hand and got bitchy, trying to force her into his own little box of memories. b*****d, see if she would allow that to happen… but even through the anger some part of her felt unhinged, broken and swinging in a melancholy wind.
“Goddamn you to hell.” She whispered fiercely, he wasn’t worth the pain and torment he put her through; if she wanted someone as moody as him she would have been lesbian. Sighing heavily she made her way back to the bar, stopping for another drink. “Just… give me anything.” She mumbled to the bartender who simply looked at her and handed her a bottle of goddess knows what. Her gaze shifted over to tempo and she debated calling out to him. Instead she walked over, resting a hand on his shoulder and holding up the bottle. “Want to walk me home? I don’t particularly trust myself and I need someone to share this with.”

Phenex smiled as she sang and he finished out the rest of the song as he danced with her. With one sudden move he spun and jumped into the air and landed off the stage and fell to his knees, arms raised in the air. He smiled as he slowly stood up and smiled back at Demi excited and wanting to do more. The Catnip had made him really hyper and he liked it. He smiled and bowed a little, even though there were only three or four other people in the room to watch them. He looked over and saw another female near the stage. "Oh hello. I don't think i met you yet." he said softly as he smiled at the female and waited for Demi to come down with him.

Demi giggled to herself as she watched the tom leap off the stage. That was unexpected, and she wasn't sure it fit their song, but she was pleased that he was having fun anyway. The song ended and she slid over to the edge of the small stage platform. It was then that her bronze eyes met the blue ones of her friend. "Princess!?" She mewled suddenly, a delighted giggle bubbling in her throat as she pounced off the stage and threw her arms around the fluffy cat, "When did you get here?" The dappled bobtail didn't acknowledge anyone in the room who would have heard her performance with the color-point tom, for praise wasn't the point of karaoke. She looked up as Phenex came over and gave a nod. "Hey, this is my best friend! Her name's Belle." She introduced, gesturing at the tom in return, "This guy is Phenex, Princess. He writes these things called... poems, right?" With a sheepish grin, she tipped her head to the side, looking back at the male for confirmation.

Morph laughed as Phenex jumped off the stage, landing near him with his arms in the air. I may have to share with you again, sometime. He chuckled to himself. Getting up quietly he rolled his shoulders, glancing around. There were only five cats in the room now, apart from him. [tempo’s at the bar, right?] Demi and Phenex were talking to Belle, and Mir and the mane coon, Thrud were chatting quietly, a bottle of sake in front of them. Morph wasn’t sure where the Somali pair had gotten off to, but considering the exchanges between them, Morph figured he’d leave well enough alone. At the moment, though, he felt like he needed to do… something. Anything really, but what? Picking song at random sounded good, so urged on by the catnip and a lot of pent up energy that seemed to come out of nowhere, he made his way around Demi, Phenex and Belle, pulling a CD at random without looking at is and slipping it in to the machine. Closing his eyes, he selected a song and picked up the microphone, standing in the corner behind the TV so he could see the lyrics of whatever song he had selected. [The Current- Blue Man Group] It started off pretty quickly, but the lyrics were easy enough. He sung quietly into the mic, his baratone voice carrying through the speakers across the room.
Mir sat down next to Thrud, smiling and leaning against the larger cat. “Hun, I was singing Rammstein when you walked in; loud, German metal, I am completely ok with non girly songs.” She smiled, reaching forward to take her glass. “What song would that be, dear?”She asked, and then her attention was drawn to the corner of the room where Morph had begun to sing. She raised an eyebrow, sipping her sake quietly and watching him sing. She hadn’t seen him considering any songs, and she wondered where this sudden action came from. “Good for you, Morph.” She murmured, leaning back against Thrud’s shoulder.
“I’ve been thinking about the future… I’ve been waiting for the day…” Morph’s leg bounced as he got more into the song, which by some stroke of fate seemed to match him pretty well. He sung louder, matching the volume of the song. Looking up, he saw Mir watching him and he smiled at her a little sheepishly and looked back down at the screen. “So tomorrow when the sun comes up, I’ll be going down… Going down… Going down…” When the song finished, he sat the microphone down again, chuckling a little self consciously and glancing around to see how everyone would react.
Mir grinned as the song came to an end, giving a whoop and cheering loudly for Morph. Laughing and smiling happily she turned back to Thrud, a little flushed from her outburst. “So, you were saying?”
[note: I did actually pick this song at random from my music library.]

Tempo was brooding..he was tempted to leave himself, actually, but he decided to not yet get up and go. However, that problem was solve for him, now wasn't it?
Glancing up to her when she touched his shoulder, the forest cat pushed himself to stand instantly...being a bit taller than her, even while she was in heels, he gave a soft smile. "Of course," he replied, downing the last bit of his water which he'd abducted from...somewhere. Really, he wanted to sober up, since he felt pretty stupid right now.
Looking over the other cats, he brought a hand up to wrap around her shoulders in a comforting manner and lead her out of the room. No need to say goodbye, honestly...didn't want to interrupt their fun at all. Holding the door open for the female, Tempo looked around for Dhiren...figuring he left. And he could smell her tears, see the streaks down her puffy red cheeks...this was his fault, and he knew it. And now he felt like s**t.

Alice leaned her head on the others shoulder when he wrapped his arm around her. She knew that she more then likely looked like hell, but really she could care less. “Thanks.” She mumbled, walking through the door and waiting for him. Alice could tell this was bothering him and she had to shake her head sadly. “Its really not your fault, he and I are… so different we had issues from the beginning, honestly if its meant to work out it will… if its not then this too shall pass.” She gave him a soft smile and offered her hand, secretly hoping that she didn’t tip over with the heels and after affects of drinking a tad too much.
The bottle was firm in her hand and it took her awhile to remember she had it, meaning quite clearly she more then likely shouldn’t touch anymore, but still felt the pull. Alcoholic kitty seemed like a bad idea for some reason. Her gaze shifted about for any sign of familiarity and she winced, Dhiren and her had gone off instincts after dropping their shopping bags off at the university, and Alice was confused exactly of which way they had come from… Well crap.

Belle was smoothing her palms against her dress nervously as she saw the handsome looking tom address her. Nope, he was correct. They hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet, and that's the reason she was a tad bit nervous. She wasn't the best around strangers. Especially when it came to guys. Her eyes flashed over to the familiar face, almost desperately calling out for her to come quick, but when Belle watched Demi scoot off the stage and came right over to embrace her the Ragamuffin felt completely relaxed again. "Hehe, evening, Spunky." She gave a tight squeeze before releasing her friend and looking at Phenex more confidently. "Pleasure to meet you, Phenex. So, you're into Poetry?" she had a lovely smile gracing her lips. Yes, she knew poetry from her owners. They were really into literacy and stuff. "Do you know anything from Edgar Allan Poe? He was the masters favorite. He would always recite the lines to himself in the study room where I used to live." She wrapped an arm around Demi's so that they were linked together.
