Elizabeth began to pant, stumbling forward towards the deer.

Clarissa stared at the dead deer feeling empty. "In order to eat this, we're going to need to bleed it out. Do we have a bowl or something to keep the blood from spilling everywhere?" Helena and Lance would have the best shot at cutting the deer in pieces, but she had no idea how they felt. She looked over to them with a sad look on her face. She'd already accepted her damned fate. She wondered if they had as well.

Saieve remained with his hands on the deer's neck, frozen. To the others, it rather looked like he was frozen by what he had done. In fact, it was something very different.
He could feel its life, its energy, pulsing slowly away as it died. It felt so warm, so full of life. He wanted it, he was so Hungry. He wanted to Consume it!
His stomach felt terrible and gave a twist. His eyeballs and throat began to burn as he heaved, again and again, gripping his gut. After a few painful heaves, a sudden steam of purple goo, rather like a very liquid jelly, poured from his mouth onto the deer.
They stared for a moment, but the weirdness wasn't over. Saieve, groaning in pain, could not stop his hand from reaching out and grabbing the flank of the deer through the purple goo. It simply came off in his hand, rapidly dissolving into his hands. His eyes rolled back as he tasted it through his Slaughterfists, but when it was gone he cried out in pain.
Pretty soon, the others were vomiting goo onto the deer carcass and tearing off pieces of meat. Some were crying from the pain, others bearing it silently. The deer was gone within a minute.
The Hosts realized that passing out was a blessing when they had to Consume, for now they were in a terrible limbo of blissful satiation and a death-like pain in their gut.

"Oh god, oh god, oh god," Elizabeth muttered, staring at the wall as she lay on her side, staring at the wall in the fetal position. "Let's never do that again. Ever," she suggested, moments before realizing she must have done that to live people. "Oh god, oh god...." She returned to her mindless repetition, as though she was trying not to even think.

Clarissa went through the process silently. She had not expected any of that to happen, but since it did, she started to process it in her sluggish mind. So this is how I ate my family. It was a cruel way to kill someone.
The fact that they were going to have to do this again and again in order not to kill people did not make Clarissa feel any better. She looked at Elizabeth and tried to rub her shoulder in a soothing way. There was nothing she could say to make it better, but maybe this could help Elizabeth.

Saieve sank to the ground after he was finished. The pain wasn't anything he couldn't deal with, but what he had just done...it was terrible! Had he done that to his mother? He shivered at the thought as his head dipped. "What...what are we becoming?" he asked quietly to himself. He was shivering.

Elizabeth flinched at Clarissa's touch, her entire body still tense. She began to weep soundlessly.

Jesse sat quietly by himself at the other end of the room. The others were taking this pretty hard, and he could understand why. But then, the thought dawned on him. Is he the reason his girlfriend disappeared? Did he eat her?
His mind became clouded with this thought, and the images of his girl smiling at him in the hallway at school. her piercing blue eyes always seemed to send a chill down his spine whenever their eyes met. He then began to wonder, what did she see in his eyes the day that this horrible curse took hold of him.
The metalic taste of the flesh was still fresh in his mouth. (seeing as how he as quills, I don't expect he should roll around in it.) It make him want to vomit, the more he thought about everything that happened. To add more to it, there were bodies around him in the alleyway the day he and Clarissa first met. Had he eaten them too? This was becoming altogether too much for him to bare.
But he would endure it. He had to. There was no other choice. This is what he'd become. Along with everyone else. He looked down at his goo stained hands and simply prayed. He was honestly glad that he wasn't with his parents when this took over. He was even more happy that he didn't eat the cop as well. That would have loosed a whole slew of other problems that neither he, nor the other hosts needed to deal with at this time.
With finally putting his thoughts to rest a little, he hung his head in shame and sat quietly.
"Forgive me father... for I have sinned..."

Seeing what Saieve went through made Helena rather nervous about this. It looked painful. And then it came in great, agonizing lurches of her stomach. The feel of the... goop was disturbing to say the least. She was wincing and tears were forming in her eyes as she dropped to her knees and ate. Grissom shed many tears as she devoured the animal. She had no problems with killing and eating the deer-- she had come to terms with that before it had even happened-- but the manner in which they ate was disturbing. Then again, the artist didn't really know what she had expecting. In the back of her mind, perhaps, she had been hoping for something simpler, like simply inhaling the body Kirby-style.
Afterward, Helena dragged herself away to sit in the nook of the fridge and the wall. She didn't dare look near where the remains lay, nor toward the others and their horrified gazes. Instead she stared at her hands and willed them with all her mental capacity to return to normal. Helena would be the master of her body, regardless of what it demanded she eat. With normal hands she wiped away her own tears and pulled the hood over her face. It made resting her temple against the fridge more comfortable. An ache still sat in the well of her belly, but she didn't groan or complain. Helena accepted it and tried to overcome it. If she had to live this way-- for however long-- she was going to do her damnedest to adapt and cope.
"So," she finally grumbled, "Is it just me or are we some sick, twisted ********?" She had a wry, pained smile on her face as she attempted to warm their hearts with some dull humor.

A soft sigh was heard coming from Clarissa. It seemed her attempts at comforting Elizabeth weren't helping at all. She gave up on it and looked around to the others. It seemed they were finally coming to terms with what they had done. I guess this really is how we're going to have to live the rest of our lives.
Helena's question actually surprised her - she didn't think anyone would try to provide humor. The joke was not well taken in any case. Humor is a defense mechanism, isn't it? Same with denial. I remember that from a psychology book. She waited for her stomach to settle as she thought about her new friends. I wish I could still do the same, but sadly, I think I've accepted this.

"Despite what they'd have you believe, the ends do justify the means, sometimes," The Thief remarked expressionlessly. "We've wasted time. It's time to get out there," he declared, before marching straight through the maelstrom of colors. It appeared to have picked him up off his feet and dragged him in.
How comforting.
Hesitantly, the rest of the Hosts followed - as soon as they touched the color, they experienced something like a blackout while they felt themselves spinning wildly, before - Landing, feet-first, knee-bucklingly powerfully.
It was cold.
"Well, this is where they set up the pulse..." The Thief remarked quietly. It appeared that they were in a bit of a snowstorm. "I'll keep us warm for the moment - set up a good fire for you folks. Can't keep fueling things with Sigil activity, of course... actually, instead, I'll just do that and set up some interference - here we go."
A little color-bubble popped up around them and the freezing wind and drops of snow disappeared, along with the snow beneath them, until they stood on dry dirt.

Saieve couldn't help but be relieved that the fight had ended, but he worried about the others and his brother. Last he had seen Finnegan was when he had run off into the fight. Saieve was sure Finnegan was fine, but it was still tugging at his mind. He spotted Clarissa upon their return. He was relieved to see her and the others return relatively fine, though terribly hungry. He was glad he had some control over his own hunger now. However, the hunger was becoming more and more arresting despite his attempts to control it, "We need to eat..." he mentioned quietly.

Clarissa walked towards Saieve telling him that his brother was fine. Though she made attempts to eat him, he was very kind in helping her, and NO she did not harm him in any way. "What about you? How was your fight with the blond Host-Agent?"
She looked around to see her friends in various states of Hunger. Jesse was still knocked out. Helena and Elizabeth were overwhelmed with Hunger. Saieve...he actually looked like he was semi-controlled.
She gripped her stomach. She was starving for something. Anything. I wonder if there are corpses we could eat. She cringed at the thought. No, eating people was one thing, but eating the long since dead? That was a complete other. She looked around to see whether there was something to eat. Otherwise, she'd be very very tempted at eating the pressure-man she'd fought earlier. Maybe not. He did help me in the end. But still. I need food.

"It was actually less of a fight than you might think, he turned out to be a really decent fellow." he told Clarissa with a slight smile, "And I'm glad to hear that things wen well between you and Fin, he's a good guy, I'm glad he hasn't change much despite all that's happened." He noticed Clarissa searching for food, he thought briefly of tying to teach her what A had taught him, but decided agains it for now. "What are we gonna eat?"
