 Alkor, Andrews owl flew into the entrance hallhooting happily. He dropped a poster on the floor and flew out.
The poster rose up and hovered at eye level by the doors. It read:
HPGoG New Years' Resolutions Event going on now

We are now accepting Teacher applications for the coming Term!
Classes will begin January 24 and end March 11
You should know that we expect at least 3 lessons to be finished by the end of Term.
Also, the amount of points that can be awarded is still the same. For more information, please visit the Halls of Learning!

The poster rose up and hovered at eye level by the first poster. It read:
HPGoG New Years' Resolutions Event SIGN UP EXTENSION:::
DUE TO ONLY 6 SIGN UPS THERE WILL BE A 48 hour EXTENSION TO SIGN UPS. THE NEW DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS NOW 1-6-10 @ 10:00 pm pacific standard time (california time). This will be the only extension. No other deadlines will change.

Now that Fall term is over, I can announce the final standings in our house point competition!
Coming in 4th with 463 points, Hufflepuff!
In 3rd place with 557 points, Ravenclaw!
Striding in 2nd with 707 points we have Gryffindor!
And finally, with a whopping 1052 points this term and winners of the house cup, I present...
Congratulations! Merlin's Beard that streak is STILL going!
And another congratulations must go out to our winners of the Top Student competition. A round of applause to The Queen Lana, tealflower1928, Haltless, and our tip top student of them all, DownAzzLette! Your winnings have been sent. For certain reasons the Top Students were chosen by the Mod Squad based on helpfulness and overall activity.

Key Dates for Winter Term 2k11
Special Sorting Ends Jan 15; Last Day to have 30 posts will be Jan 23.
Now-Jan 15 Hogwarts Express (Coming to Hogwarts)
Jan 14- Jan 23 Winter Term 2k11 Kick-Off
January 24 Classes begin
February 6-18 Early Sorting
March 11 Classes End (Short term because Classes started really late)
March 11- March 19 End of Term Event (TBA)
March 20- 31 Hogwarts Express (Going Home)
These are the official dates for Winter Term 2k11! The picture calendar will be released at a later time. If you have any questions please let me know!

Greetings everyone!
Winter Term 2011 is finally here (well almost!). In case you haven't noticed, the Winter Term 2k11 Kick-Off has already began! Chat it up with your fellow students and guild members BEFORE classes begin. In case you forgot, classes begin January 24! That's only a week away! Sign up for available classes now!
We're also still accepting Teacher Applications for Winter Term.
If you're interested, stop by the Halls of Learning, read and apply!
As a reminder, the Task Force Headquarters is absolutely OFF-LIMITS to anyone that isn't a member of the Task Force. If caught entering the headquarters for any reason, you will have points removed and you may even be banned! So I beg you, please don't enter that thread if you do not have permission!
One final reminder: Please remember all of our guild rules! We've noticed quite a few rule-breaking lately. sad Make sure to use your house-color if you're a student.

Students, House-elves, and everyone in between!
I hope you have enjoyed the Winter Term Kick-Off as much as I have!
Congratulations to all of the winners!
Winter Term 2k11 has many, many surprises waiting for you all!
First off, classes officially begin tomorrow! Two things:
There's still time to apply to teach, if you're interested. The deadline for that will be Valentine's Day (Feb 14). To my dear house-elves, the Head Elf's class will remain closed. Please await further announcements regarding How to be an Elf.
Also, the Hogwarts Monthly will make its return (from a brief hiatus) next month. Don't forget to check the new issue out!
Remember to check the Entrance Hall often for updates. I'm sure this term there'll be lots of them. We want to keep HPGoG as the most active Harry Potter guild on Gaia!!!
Finally, the Task Force is currently at work on something top secret (not even I know what's going on)! Stay tuned.... heart Reminder: If you are not in the Task Force you should not even be viewing the TF Headquarters thread. Violators will be punished.
