Barton Town forums have become a cesspool. We all know this.

We've stopped bothering to look for anything quality that's out there. I happen to have found something, and it could turn out to be great. Extremely so. However, in order to be great, it needs members. And not just any members, but ones who know how to roleplay.

So I hereby post this shameless plug in the hopes that some of you will heed the call and create the shining example of roleplaying that others should follow. We're looking for good guys, bad guys, traitors, patriots, wimps, winners, losers, cooks, cleaners, and everything in between.

You don't have to be completely kick-a**... you just have to come in often and bring some life to this place.

Thanks for your time.

Article from a German news portal. Uhh, I'm tired thus there might be some mistakes in my translations xp

New York - Americans who travel to Germany during the FIFA world cup have to be ready for one or another disappointment: Likely nobody runs around in leather trousers/lederhosen, especially not in Hamburg where the US team will be accomodated.

"Germans just don't often dress like Germans", an American 'Survival handbook for Germany' warns, which can currently be found in many of New York's bookstores. Other popular guides with tips for the correct behaviour in Old Germany are titled "Rules and etiquettes guide Germany", "Inside guide for the German life" or "Germany for dummies".

These books have many handy advices in store, which would never come to a normal American's mind. For example: "Never lean against someone else's car - car's are sacred in Germany. Avoid using non-recycable packaging material/wrapping. Never wear trunks in a sauna. Don't call someone during 8 and 8.15 pm - that's the time of the daily main news."

This is the easy part of the 'crash course Germany'. Yet, advanced have to learn much more. The main motto of the world cup is, "The world staying with friends", but all those guides agree that it's difficult becoming friends with a German. They point out though that most Germans are polite to foreigners, but their reserved/aloof nature complicates getting in touch.

Everything belonging to a friendly greeting in America - broad smile, displayed happiness, asking how you're doing - rather tends to make Germans suspicious. "It's better to not be overly friendly to foreigners", says Richard Lord, author of "Culture Shock". "Germans would just think you want something from them or you're a bit crazy/out of your mind." At best, you were thought to be a "typical shallow American". "Germans simply aren't cheerful persons by nature."

Not recommendable as well: speaking positive about George W. Bush. "If you defend the current US politics too strictly, you will risk having an argument." And something else: In Germany you keep holding your knife in your hand while eating and don't cut everything into small pieces or squash your food to then only use the fork.
"Chewing with open mouth or speaking with your mouth being stuffed is a no-go - just like chewing chewinggum."

When you watch German tv at the hotel or somewhere else be prepared to see nude scenes. "Germans aren't prudes", Barry Tomalin, author of guides, explains. "What they find shocking isn't sex but violence. Thus, videos which you think to be harmless might be categorized offensive in Germany - whereas those channells which are no good for young teens in your opinion are fully accepted in German households."

Now a last tip from a "Insider guide": "Never try telling a joke. Leave it to Harald Schmidt ((German commedian)) or Germans who drank too much. Germans do have a sense of humour, but is has nothing to do with the American version."

A Message To All
KIDNEY STONES HURT! So be sure to drink lots of water everyday, and by lots I'm not talking the INSANE amount of 8 glasses a day they tell you you need to be healthy, I'm talking more like 3 glasses, or you know what, just drink water whenever your thirsty, because you know how they get kidney stones out? No, they don't blast them to pieces with ultrasound or whatever everyone seems to think, they literally GO IN AND TAKE THEM OUT WITH A TUBE AND A PEICE OF WIRE! So drink water because yeah, you don't want anyone doing that.

Actually my friend had kidney stones and they dissolved them so he excreted them naturally.
