I never do bad on them(well, no, that's lying), I almost never do bad on them, though once we had to play a scale memorized, and we found out what scale we played by picking a piece of paper from a cup. I pulled Gb MINOR. Not fun...I ended up losing first chair because of that...by one point, too...

I bomb my tests all the tiem cause there in front of the class and i get nervous i do not even play I just cry. So now my tests are done just me and the BD in the back room!

My first few chair tests in 6th grade...I got last chair on all of them...but they didnt expect me to become first chair in the top band, now did they? ninja

Is there anyone who can honestly say they've never bombed something atleast once ??
I remember mine quite well, the All-State audition last year. I misread the sightreading piece, and just freaked out and started winging it. sweatdrop sweatdrop
I made it, but they commended my ability to improvise, so they noticed... I guess I played something close to the same thing, because I was only slightly docked in points. sweatdrop

well i did once it was my first test ever and i didnt know wat to do and i played the entire tset music instead of the selected parts parts, but on the next one (only been to two) i did better and i got 4th chair out of 5 for tuba(only been playing a year and that guy had been for playing for a few years the other guys were really great. so no chance of me getting higher but i was surprised i beat out a senior.

I always bomb scales... I dunno why... When I'm alone, i can do 7 of them in 2 octaves.... But, when the test time comes.... >.<

i bombed the playing test todecide which band you were going to bve in! To begin with i only did 'okay' on the actual music and then i did soooo good on my chromatic scale that i was thinkin "oh! this'll make up for the music!" i was so happy as i walked out of the directors office and the second i closed the door i realized that i'd forgotten to do the entire second octive in the scale...i was sooo mad and sad and i was beatting my head on the wall when the next person came to take there test.

Amicitia Ookami I know I have.. I just did today. I did really well on the main playing and the counting out loud parts but I did horrible on the scales.. I totally froze and forgot the notes! I still cant remember!! Do any of you clarineters know the notes for concert major C scale? concert major G flat? I cannot remember those for the life of me!! sweatdrop Whats the worst youve ever done on a playing test?
