Uncle Canas

User Image

"Oh my," was all Canas could utter as he saw the Fire Dragon. But it was apparently on their side, Unlike the ones during the Scouring and the end of Nergal's Terror. He continued to fight, Launching a second spell. He saw what he assumed to be the leader of this Morph army, and he began the Incantation, Launching an Eclipse into the distance. A small black ball of energy appear above the victim as it teared the body nearly in half, but it was not a spell meant to kill. That was what his Hidden Tome was for. The one he had taken from the body of a dead man he and a group of friends had defeated.

He then Saw Ninian, dancing for him and it strengthened him. He whispered the incantation of the Ancient, forbidden Tome. It was the first time he had the courage to unleash it, for it brought terror to him, and all those that had seen it used in the ancient battles. Ereshkigal, named after the Goddess of the Underworld. Again the air bled black, but it was different. He selected a spot in the center of the enemy cluster. A black hole tore the sky, ripping the air itself into a spinning vortex of high winds and lancing dark energy, Pulling the enemies that were too close into the void before collapsing on them and exploding with the dark terror. But that wasn't the worst of it. It had caused the souls of the ones it had taken to increase the size and power of the spell...exponentially. This was the reason it had been forbidden.

"Hey leave some for the rest of us." Heading for a berserker with his killing edge, managing to dodge a killing blow, and aiming a well-aimed slash at his mid body. "We all have to get some shots at them."

Shinon heard Jin yelling out.
Shinon replied " Sure!!!! Just don't die!!!!" Let the others know!"
He returned his attention on the wyvern. He put some of the concoction around the wyverns would to sterilize it and then pulled it out swiftly. He winced is the wyvern cried out in pain and applied the rest of the medicine on it's wound.
" There, I hope you'll be alright now go help your master! Fly!!"

Oujay was in a battle against a fighter morph. He jumped a few inches backwards as he dodge the swing of an axe. He pivoted off his foot and spun around as he went for the counter attack. He cut at the chest of the morph. It brought up it's axe and prepared to make a downward swing at Oujay. He react quickly and blocked the axe with the flat side of his sword. He was getting easily over powered, but he switch to the sharp edge and it sliced through the wooden handle of the axe, as he put pressure on it. The head of the axe flew over Oujay as he dashed forward for the stab at the morph. His sword pierced through the morphs chest as he quickly pulled it out and looked around his area, just in case no other morph was charging at him.

"Oh crap,"
he thought as a huge axe just barely missed him. He turned his head and looked up at the huge morph. It was a morph berserker. "Just my luck," he said as he gripped his sword harder. The Berserker swung the giant ace around and then swung at Oujay at a fast speed. Oujay moved to his left as he dodged the axe swing. He quickly ran forward and counter-attacked as he manage to make a deep cut in the berserker's side.

The berserker didn't react, but brought up its axe and turned around and swung towards Oujay, who had it's back turned on it. He turned his head and saw the axe coming towards him. He rolled forward in order to dodge the attack. Oujay got back on his feet, after the roll, and faced the berserker. He had blood lust in it's eyes as he placed it's on axe it's shoulder.

Oujay twirled his blade as he stood there, waiting. The berserker grinned at Oujay and tossed it's axe into the air. "Uh oh," he said as he watched the axe go into the air. The berserker grabbed the axe and swung it right at him. Oujay saw the opportunity to react and flipped backwards as the axe slammed into the ground. Once Oujay landed onto the ground, he pushed off his feet and charged at the berserker. He ran up the ace of the berserker and aimed for the head. He pushed off the axe handle and soared past the berserker's head, but Oujay slashed at the neck as he went past it.

He landed onto the ground and blood gushed out of the berserker's neck from the attack. the morph had let go of the axe and dropped to the ground dead. Oujay sighed as he managed to escape a tight situation. He ducked as another morph came at him.

((O_o;; Wow, I just noticed that everyone had moved to this thread.. . haha... getting a little confused on when people know to move on to the next thread...))

Miledy had followed behind Roy and next to Oujay. While she stayed silent because she felt there was no need to speak, she learned that the man whose table she had fallen over was Canas, Nino's uncle.

To her dismay, the group was beset by an army of morphs. Miledy tensed. Of course, he wyvern wasn't present, but Miledy knew she could call for them.

"We cannot let them defeat us here," Miledy declared as she stayed in the line that her companions had formed. Her spear was in her hand for long range, and her sword was at her hip, ready for quick drawing in case of close combat.

Without even feeling scared, the wyvern rider joined the fray and the defense. Obviously, something was up with the world.

Spinning his blade, Ziaram hurled himself, as well as his blade, at the morph going for Oujay, slashing it down at the legs. "Hey pal, keep an eye out for these kinds of guys." Side-stepping to avoid an attack moving at him. "Or else you could get hurt badly."

Annis the Raven

PostPosted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 5:39 pm

[[I'm going to assume, honestly, that the last three pages were simply fighting, so... if I missed something important, let me know. 8D"]]

Annis didn't respond to Valter's shout; before anything could have been said, there were men pouring out at them. None were distinguished, all just generic men, but they were all armed to the teeth, and they were ready to fight. Archers, mages, swordsmen... various weapons all available at the enemy's hands, and they seemed quite ready to kill.

Annis, however, did not feel any hesitation to do the same. Her hands moved to her thighs, withdrawing the two long, sharp knives from their holsters. Begnion-made, kept sharp and well-used, judging by the faint spatters across the otherwise-silvery blades, her knives were, for all intents and purposes, her beak and claws. They were her weapons, and she was well-used to using them in battle.

A mighty flap of her powerful black wings set Annis in motion, and she moved for the nearest morph, a man with a spellbook. A deep gash across the throat and another to the temple as she rolled to the side sent him falling, and before a moving spear could catch her, Annis swept upwards. She threw one blade right at the spearman, and when the blade lodged in the soft stuff of his ribs, he fell. Annis ducked down to grab it out, narrowly avoiding an arrow. She swore under her breath, reclaimed her weapon, and went back to work. A third morph fell, a fourth. A few cuts adorned her arms, but she was flying fast now, a strike or two moving to vital areas in practiced motions that had morphs falling like flies.

All part of the job.

The massive Raven circled over the forest, eyes pointed down, scanning for the distinctive clothing of a certain dancer. He could feel his mind racing as he tried to rein it in, shoving back urges that bubbled up unheeded from the very back of his mind.

Already, so fast it was setting in... used to take an hour before this happened. He needed practice. Just had to keep himself under control.

The sounds of battle drifted up to his sensitive avian ears again, and before he realized it he had swung himself around and dove sharply toward the group far below. His screech pierced the air again before he dropped nearly to the ground and struck, flaring his wings and aiming his beak directly at Canas' back. He seemed like the biggest threat, and the first target to take down.

Already, more morphs were coming out of the woodwork-- Druids and Swordmasters, along with a Summoner flanked by a legion of axe-wielding wraiths.

Blossom Ridell

Fighting? Why always fighting? Blossom had her weapon, yes, but did they have to fight here? She looked over to Aidan, then stood protectively before him. He could fight, but he didn't have a weapon with him. So it was up to her to fight for the both of them. It made sense.

She was not a speedy fighter, but she knew how to pick her battles. A morph coming her way with a sword had his strike parried, and while he was recoiling, Blossom pushed forward and plunged her blade through his gut. A heavy slice up cut away from the ribs and out his side, and he fell to the ground in a bleeding heap. Blossom had no time to avoid the arrow coming at her, and it gashed across her thigh before hitting the ground, nearly making her fall. Blossom recovered, though, and she set off running and cut him down before he could fire again. These guys were fast, and there were so many...

"Aidan! F-Find a weapon, hurry!" Blossom shouted, turning to look at him. Her leg bled, a steady dripping of red that stained into her white stockings. She turned back to the battle, nearly getting a blow to the chest that a quick parry with the wide blade of her sword deflected away from her.

Kain snapped his jaws at Shinon, just about taking his head off. The wyvern hated it when anybody but Valter touched him. Angry as he was, he did harbor a tiny bit of appreciation, though. Making sure not to let it show, Kain leaped as high as he could, and, although still wounded, flew much better than before, and went immediately to his rider's aid.

Meanwhile, Valter was thrusting at some new, though no less powerful, Morphs. The battle was a flurry of thrusts, parries, and dodging. He was facing two enemies: a paladin and a nomadic trooper, and he wasn't winning. The enemy's strikes landed dangerously close to vital areas of his body. The knight's strength was beginning to fail, for even his infamous bloodlust couldn't hold up to so many powerful enemies.

He had just about lost all hope when he noticed that the sun was gone. He couldn't look up, for he was barely holding up as it was. But suddenly, the paladin disappeared off of his horse. The false nomad continued his assault as if nothing had happened, but was soon crushed by the corpse of his companion.

Now thoroughly confused, Valter looked around for his savior. Not finding anyone, he remembered the sun... He looked up to see his mount hovering forty or so yards above. Kain landed next to his rider, and with a shout of joy, Valter jumped onto his mount. The pair took off, circling around the battlefield for a few seconds. The joy of seeing his partner made the wyvern knight forget his wounds. He gave a great sigh, and then the reunited duo dove back into the fray.

With Kain lending his assistance, Valter was able to efficiently dispatch more enemies in two minutes than he did the entire time he was on foot.

"Canas, look out!" Sue called out as she saw the raven's beak heading in the right direction to stab the druid in the back. Aiming quickly and carefully, she shot at the flying laguz, at least making him change course in order to dodge her arrow. She pulled back a second arrow and watched it race towards her target. This one would not miss.

Leon continued his battle, still energetic from the Fortify spell he received earlier from Victoria. To him, the battle was just beginning. He still prayed to the Holy Blade Falchion that they'd get reinforcements somewhere... or they would tire out eventually even with staves being used on the lot of them.

Lifting up his poleaxe, he whipped Anri into action. The steed sped forward, and he crashed his weapon into all the heads of every member of the morph cavalry near him. He didn't let his strength loosen for a second.

Canas was struck in the back...Hard. he had not seen it coming. He was too busy protecting Nino. There wasn't time to react. He was thrown forward, as he curled around the tome he carried protecting it as he reached forward to protect his face. The Monacle slipped off his eye, and he felt a lancing pain in his back. He reached over and felt a slick feeling in his shoulder. Blood. He had been hit, quite obviously. he stood and looked for the threat, spotting it above his head. He took out another tome, Responding by casting Luna towards the one that had attacked him.

I Have to protect Nino, was the only thought that ran through his mind.

An arrow struck his hide.

It dug in. A little. And sorta fell out. And black flames struck his wings and were snuffed with little noticeable effect.

And Castello went berserk. In an instant, the ancient Hero wheeled around to face Sue, then shot upward, spread his wings and whipped them forward with such force that the wind he generated struck like a flying brick wall. The ancient Raven skill known as Vortex was a lost art. But then, Castello was from an age of lost arts, wasn't he?

He scarcely bothered to watch if his attack struck, but instead dropped low to the ground and shot along, just above the dirt and grass, aiming his beak right at the reeling Nomad.

Ninian spun just in time to see Canas go down. Fortunately, he wasn't too badly hurt, able to cast Luna at his attacker. Fighting the panic that threatened to overwhelm her, Ninian hurried to help him stand, shouting for someone, anyone to heal him. Where had the bishop gone?

She took a step back, pausing to take a deep breathe. Closing her eyes, she reached deep inside her, searching for her power. It was their, albeit it weak. If this battle lasted for much longer. . . .

Calling on Ninis's Grace, she danced for Canas once more, the ring's power shining around in a protective barrier around the druid. She knew he had more concern for his niece than himself. Quickly she turned to Sue, dancing once more using Ninis's Grace.
