Tibarn maintained composure right up until "No refund", at which point he suppressed a snort of laughter into a mere 'snrk' and took the ring, closing his eyes. He pulled both brows up sharply, trying to suppress the laugh that, now it had found an opening, was trying to get out. The nervousness was gone-- Serra was a miracle worker in that regard, at least. Another deep breath, and he slowly slid the gold wedding band onto his mate's finger. "I give this ring, Ayra, as a sign of my love and faithfulness."

Goddamn, it was tempting to repeat the rest of it, but he couldn't remember it all perfectly. And besides, it was his wedding, so he just grinned instead, waiting for Ayra's turn.

Melethia started to get some tears in her eyes. Weddings always made her a bit sappy. She didn't want anyone to notice her cry though.

"Don't cry Mel." she told herself, "Don't cry. They must see you as a strong person." She was really trying to hold back her tears. In time though her tears started flowing.

"It's so beautiful" She told herself.

Ed sat quietly and observed all unfold about her. There was no energy in her eyes, no exuberancy, but a still sea of placidity. Being worn from battle and recalling harsh lessons of the past had put her in a condition of calmness. She had at least found her Aegis sword somewhere, so she bore no worry over that. Everyone seemed so happy and joyous here as well that it was difficult to be discontent.

Even tears of happiness were being shed. Ed turned her head, having picked up the sound of sniffling. She happened to notice Melethia nearby and cocked her head. Ed was not excited or depressed, so seeing someone else in such an extreme state felt unusual to her.

Ed glanced at the altar again before shifting over.
"Is all well, Mel?" she asked, vaguely remembering that scarcely a month ago Melethia had been comatose because of Asami.

"Weddings make me cry." She answered.

"Good, good. Don't you look at me that way!" Scolding him in a sort of pouting way, Serra put her hands on her hips, grateful that she didn't have a book in her hands. Wouldn't that hurt? Slamming the corner of the book in her hip accidentally, anyway. And she'd do it, too. She'd done it before. Putting her hands on her hips just came way too naturally for her, and no book was going to get in the way of that!

"Now, let's see... uh... Oh, right! Ayra, please place the fatter gold ring on the third finger of Tibarn's left hand and repeat this: I give this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness. Same as his prompt, you can't mess it up, right?"

"I give this ring as a sign of my undying love and faithfulness." Smiling at Tibarn but squeezing his hand to let him know that now wasn't the time for laughter (though she was damn near bursting with it, after all of Serra's shenanigans), she slid the wedding band on his finger and let Serra continue.

"So, every time you look at the ring on your finger, let it remind you that... uh... Elimine, I hate repeats! You get the gist! Let's skip to the end." Breaking out in a positively stupid but ecstatic grin, she clasped their hands together and resisted the urge to squeal as she spilled out the last portion as if words themselves were going out of style.

"To marry your best friend is a joy, but to marry someone you're totally lovey-dovey for is a joy unparalleled in human life. So, today, I would like to pronounce you husband and wife! Kiss, already!"

Melethia couldn't hold back her happy tears anymore. Her cries got a bit louder. "SO beautiful." She said.

Ed traced her finger over her own leg, nodding to the woman. "I see. I guess weddings are okay. I've been to a relative's wedding before, but otherwise, I haven't been to any weddings like this one." Perhaps it was because she was still too young to understand. Ed knew she was still fairly naive in the ways of the world. Seeing Melethia made her only more curious to the nature of weddings though, so Ed glanced over to Tibarn and Ayra. They definitely looked happy with each other.

Papa, she thought to herself, I hope you're okay. You should have seen this wedding. It's really nice.

"No worries, Mel. At least you can see how beautiful it is. I guess I don't understand yet."

Ed fixed her attention upon the wedding once more, her interest piqued by the pink-haired woman at the altar.

Sue watched in silent admiration as Tibarn and Ayra exchanged their vows. She knew the kiss was coming next.

The nomad's thoughts were drifting again. Was Father and Mother's wedding so full of happiness? She imagined it so. Maybe Nino and Father will..? No. That's... weird. Me and Rei would be brother and sister!

The more she thought about it, the more she liked it. The nomad giggled.

"I was once a married woman back where I use to live." She sniffled a bit. "My late husband Kunzite...." Melethia couldn't say anymore she was crying her eyes out now.

Tibarn, at long last, allowed himself to laugh as he slid his hands up Ayra's arms, and then dipped underneath them to pull the shorter swordmistress up onto her tip-toes, holding her tightly to his bare chest as he kissed her firmly. His wings flared and spread as he held her close while the band struck up again, and the wind once more took hold of the hawk king's ceremonial scarf and lifted it up into the sunlight gloriously.

He paused, nearly pulling back, then deepened the kiss and lifted Ayra right off the ground, swinging her around once as he gently nibbled on her lower lip. It was perhaps the hottest, steamiest kiss any wedding had ever seen, and Tibarn was reluctant to release her from it. But it had to end sometime, if only to change position.

Deja vu from the other night, huh?

He let out a deep breath, then grinned as he slid his arm down underneath Ayra's knees, lifting her up against his chest, and began a brisk walk back up the aisle, laughing aloud at the sight of all the cheerful (and shoe-marked) faces around him.

Lance and Finn, at the same time, as almost on cue, stood up and clapped their hands, starting the round of applause that would soon to follow. Lance even went ahead and cheered, while Leaf climbed up on his chair to get as tall as possible.

Sue followed Finn and Lance's sounds of applause, and soon enough, everyone was on their feet for a standing ovation. The nomad joined part of the cheers that ensued, and for that moment... joy spread throughout the tiny part of the woods in Learania.

Victoria in particular was exteremly joyous. She hadn't seen a wedding procession so spectacular in her lifetime. Not that she was old or anything. It had been a long time since she'd seen a wedding, however, through all the funerals she'd attended. She was glad to celebrate new lives, and new beginnings.

The dove lifted its wings and took off, showering the newlyweds in a rain of pure white feathers before disappearing in a blur.

Far, far away, a hooded figure spoke in shadows to her companion.

"There are...some things...that a dark god cannot prevent."

Ayra had a hard time keeping balanced, especially when Tibarn made her reach to kiss him, but boy, was it worth it. Experience made the kiss all the better- no clumsy fumbling, no confused grabs or anything of the sort- just one well-orchestrated kiss that would have left the romance novelists in the audience taking notes for some time. Or at least, she hoped that's how it looked. God forbid if they looked like ungraceful dolls in a child's hands, just mashed together over and over again as if figuring it all out for the first time.

She didn't object when he swept her up against him- she merely leaned in, kissing him again on the cheek and letting herself be the damsel for what had to be the first time in her life.

And meanwhile, Serra wiped the tears away while wishing the saps good luck. Realizing she had no tissue, she grabbed the bird before it flew off and used its body as a makeshift rag before letting it go again.

...It had to pay for attendance SOMEHOW, and since it didn't have a wedding gift, that would have to do.

"SO BEAUTIFUL!" Melethia exclamed while she was crying. So much for people not noticing her.
