"I've n-never had fried ice cream, but. . . p-probably not," Ellandra said, smiling at him. "It's.... it's really rather unique - and - and there's nothing fried a-about it." She looked around a bit, recognizing the area, and - somewhat relectantly - stepped away from him a bit more. "Th-the coffeehouse I - I get it f-from is - is only a-about a b-block from here."

Ellandra nodded, and ducking away from his hand a bit - her hair was messy enough without being ruffled, thank you! - and led him down the street to the coffeehouse. True to her earlier description, there were a few people in there who vaguely resembled baboons and were drinking coffee, along with a scattering of different types of people, all there for the quiet atmosphere, the caffeine hit, and the cheesecake.

Ellandra led Faolan up to the counter and pointed to the delicate dessert that was set in a glass case. "Th-that's ch-cheesecake, Faolan," she said, and ordered two in a rather timid voice. "M-my a-apartment's n-not far from h-here... we c-could eat it h-here or - or when we g-get there. . . I w-wouldn't recommend e-eating it w-while walking, though - i-it t-tends to f-fall a-apart."

Ellandra smiled at him and offered him one of the slices of cheesecake the counter-worker handed her. "J-just wait until y-you taste it," she said softly as she paid the worker. "My h-home's nothing special, r-really, j-just an apartment. . . th-the most interesting thing is the str-stray cat that h-hangs around," she said, blushing again.

Ellandra blushed. "W-well... I s-suppose... I th-think it d-depends o-on who's l-looking at it..." She smiled weakly and led Faolan out of the coffeeshop and down the street, turning two corners and leading him to an eerily quiet little apartment complex with a neatly-painted sign by the entrance that read "Wisteria Apartments". "I - I told you it's r-really nothing," Ellandra said, leading him to the farthest apartment. "Th-this is m-mine," she said softly, grabbing her key from where it rested and unlocking the door.

Ellandra stepped in after Faolan and closed the door behind them - there was no need to turn the lights on; the windows let in more than enough light. Her apartment was of a decent size; there were two bedrooms (one of which was actually an office where she did most of her intensive writing), a bathroom, the living room which doubled as a dining room, and the kitchen - which existed entirely in the hallway leading to the other rooms. The living room was neat and tidy, as were the other rooms, with the notable exception of the office. That particular room had many, many papers scattered about, and was organized in a much more haphazard manner than the rest of the apartment.

"I-it's not -much, I'm - I'm sorry," Ellandra said, taking her slice of cheesecake over to the small table set up in the corner nearest to the hall-kitchen. "I-it's big enough for m-me, but it's. . . probably not w-what y-you were expecting. . ."

Ellandra giggled at that. "Th-this way," she said, smiling and leading him to the hallway - pointing to their right, which had a long counter, a sink, a stove, and a fridge all in a neat row. A coffeemaker stood between the sink and the wall that the tiny kitchen seemed to be cut out of, and a small pantry managed to wedge itself in at the end of the hall. "Th-this is the kitchen, she said, smiling - and thankful that the doors to the other rooms were closed. She wasn't sure she was quite ready to let him see her bedroom yet, after all.

Ellandra laughed again. "N-no baboons here." Really, where did the fortune-teller get these ideas? He was so - so silly! She just hoped that tendency to run his mouth didn't get him or Ziazan in trouble - at least not the kind they couldn't get out of. She may not have known either Owner or Essentic for very long (not even a full day yet, her Papa would have had a heart attack!), but already she knew that if something were to happen to either one of them - Faolan in particular - she wouldn't be able to handle it at all.
