Well...very hard comments...all right, that comes mine...
First, we have not to be some negative. Of course, everybody knows that is this move is done, the principal reason is make money. Same the comic based movies like Spiderman, X-men, Blade, you know, but that are really good movies, 'cause the directors, in both cases, loves the comic and can do a excellent work.
Now, who are behind the project? Let's see...
ADV FILMS -- Cool guys, do great job with his anime porducts...I don't even know they have soooo money...
WETA INC. -- This guys have done the special effects of LOTR movies...need I say more?

GAINAX ITSELF..!
Look, with GAINAX in the project and some much possibilites that the director will be Hideaki Anno, maybe will see such a great film. Gainax is in it people!!! Do you really think that Gainax with let that Hollywood screaw it his master piece creation?? I Gaianx I trust, they're really otukus like you, like me...
And, maaaaaann!! I wanna see a Live Action 3D EVA!!! How cool is that?
But...well...I don't know. If they screw it, they screw my dreams...
So...better they do a greeeeeeeeat film of better they don't do anything..

Yuri_shoujo A full asian cast will never ever ever ever ever ever happen. Because bumbling American boneheads don't like accents/subtitles. And they want this baby to sell. Number one priority. Asian actors would be cool, but not going to happen. Even if it was all Euro actors, I wouldn't care as long as they leave the names alone gonk But, omg, Hugo Weaving= Gendo I don't really mean an ASIAN cast. I mean Asian-American. I mean, you can't have a white person casted as an oriental person. Even if they are American, it would make sense to have oriental people be cast in the movie. And if they touch the names, Evangelion fans will flame them to hell. Hopefully, however, they do a good enough job to make me want a sequel. A sequel would own if it does good. If it does bad, I'll slit Hollywood's throat.

However in the Birth of NERV episode, you see flashbacks when her hair was dark. So at some point in her life, she dyed it. Naoko's hair is dark so it's a safe bet that Ritsuko's natural color is too. But you always see blondes in Japanese anime...but how many actual Japanese blondes do you see? I've never seen a person that was Japanese (or even Asian in general) with natural blonde hair. Even after the dye-job...something about doesn't blend. It's like looking at teenagers with green highlights. It doesn't look natural. Ritsuko might end up being European anyway just to make the character look more like what we know.

Ritsuko Akagi= Not European name.
She is Japanese, I think she dyes her hair, maybe as someone else has said, so she doesn't resemble her mother.
And before you say "Well they just didn't name her something europeanish" I shoot that down, because they obviously had some idea about Euro names, because Asuka Langley Soryu is not entirely Japanese.

Sort of like you're going to roll your tounge but don't actually follow thru type thing. I did word my statement funky tho, but my heads all cloudy @_@;

X3) And I was thinking she didn't look asian because well, neither did Gendo or Rei or Misato or any of them looked distinctly Asian in my mind, even though they were.
