-x- CocoNoire -x- Divine_Malevolence An'...... What would be the difference between the life issues subforum and a thread designed for rants to take place in? From what I understood when I joined, that's not what this guild was geared towards. And, again, it wouldn't hold appropriate content likely. Not if it's going to be a jumble more of what Cleo's rant thread had. What she posted should not be repeated in any format. .....? Lets not head down such a path. But, of course, there would have to be rules'n guidelines to keep it acceptable.

Yoru Kurosawa CH0Z0 Yoru Kurosawa -x- CocoNoire -x- Divine_Malevolence But you need to get it off your chest at that moment, as the case oft' is? Whilst all your online friends are offline? Life Issues subforum?
This is the zOMG Chatterbox Guild.
I'm fairly certain it would be easy to see who's posting and online at the time and whom would be available to PM. Some of us aren't comfortable taking our issues to the Life Issues subforum. After all, we know each other here (fairly) well. There, we are subject to users we know nothing about. If you want to throw yourself to the mercy of unknown users, be my guest. I'll leave myself to the mercies of Cleo, Divine, KKD, and Chozo (others not mentioned to save space) You arth granted mercy. Oh, thank you, Wise Chozo! No, thank you for the first kind thing said to me in probably 3 days. I won't be posting much anymore but I'll probably be lurking.

Divine_Malevolence Rayne Bloodstone Personally, I think it would be a nice idea. You had a bad day, usually this is the first place a lot of people go to when they get online. Why not make a place where they can let go of all the stress inside them in a thread where it is allowed? Sure, there NEED to be RULES. Such as, "No attacking", "No flaming" and things of that sort, hell, even make it so that you can't talk to each other, you know, reply to someones post. So long as everyone here understands to NOT come at someone and say
"Oooh, poor baby, you had a rough day at school. STFU!!! YOU THINK YOU HAD A ROUGH DAY?!?!? Lemme tell you about mine!!!!!!!!!"
You know, that's rude, it is mean. Especially if people come off and say "Quit bitching and go cry to your mom/friends." Let off some steam, post it in a thread and then be done with it. Don't reply to anyone, if you think they wanna talk send them a comment, send them a PM. I mean, it is just like people posting threads about something that JUST happened like Blood with his rant about Zen Garden's and that stupid kid, me about the whole Fluff problem and the stupid girl telling me to BUY my badges, ect ect.
It would save space and it MIGHT stop some arguments so long as we have the correct rules put in place. Don't allow them to be raciest, sexiest, against people's religions, ect ect. Idk, I like the idea, we just need to make sure it is thought through carefully, very carefully and everyone knows what they can and cant do. Hell, make a subforum and let people do it in there. >>
An' the thinking does need to be done. So.... No controversial topics within a rant? I disagree. Let's propose this situation: One of the people here is a teenager and pregnant. Some woman comes up to her telling her that she was a filthy sinner and she was going to hell and etc. So internally, this girl is mad at the woman throwing her religion in her face. She wants to blow up. When someone is ranting, they are pouring out what is on their mind. They are not thinking or censoring themselves. They're just spewing out whatever it is that needs to come out. Some of it is overly mean. Someone who has nothing wrong with Christians in general might flip out and be pissed off at all Christians during the rant. It's just the way our brains work. As long as it isn't namedropping/targeting a specific person on here . . . should it really be censored? Don't go on the thread or read what people are saying if you're going to to take things personally. A Christian therapist has the ability to sit there while their patient sits and goes on and on and on about this horrible woman who was mean to her and how all these Christians keep shoving the bible in her face. The therapist can sit there, be unbiased, and remain object because he or she knows that it's "just the anger talking." That therapist would rather her patient go on a ten minute rant about how all Christians are going to hell than have the girl internalize her upset and do something destructive like cutting herself or punching a hole in the wall.

Rayne Bloodstone Divine_Malevolence An' the thinking does need to be done. So.... No controversial topics within a rant? Well, I just mean that certain things need to not be said like
"Christians are sooo stupid! F THEM!" or (examples, I promise) "Cleo was such a b***h today! Screw her!!!" (I <3 you Cleo!! gonk )
Just make sure they are not, directly going against someone. If you have a problem with someone, say "This person" or "This girl/guy" >> Things like that. Don't attack someone in your rant.
I don't think we're gonna have this type of problem, like "I HATE JEWS" (i don't!), or "YOU SHOULD GO KILL YOURSELF"(DON'T DIE! sad ) cuz i don't think the zCB people are like that. Which is a prime reason why i love this guild But you have a great point. Don't namedrop (which is in the ToS) Perhaps if Cleo creates a "life issues" subforum, she'll make a post requiring a list of rules (like the ToS) to be posted in every thread?

There's no reason to put it out in public if they are the friends you are looking to for comfort. If you don't want to read it then don't. No one forcing you to do so. No one is forcing you to respond to the rant either. Let people have a place where they can let their frustrations go. You could just ignore it and move on with your life. The majority of people think it's a good idea, because they want support and advice from others. Who knows maybe someone has a similar issue and they can learn to figure it out together. There is nothing wrong with that. There is something wrong with pointing something/somone out and flaming/attacking them. Some people like to rant to their real friends, others to their online friends. Some to both. What's so wrong about that?
