Nani turned to look at him for a moment before he pointed out Shadow. Turning her head to look, her eyes went wide and she jumped to her feet, nearly stepping on Kaigen as she hurried to get infront of Shadow, arms open in hopes of stopping him. She doubted that, if he tried to push her away, she'd be able to stop him, but she hoped he wouldn't do such a thing. All the same, she still kept a little distance between both herself and the door and him, giving her a chance to go back and try and stop him again if he got past once. She could only hope he wouldn't be so forceful as to move her out of the way. She did her best to remember his name in those split seconds before he made contact with her or stopped before her, hoping that she'd get it fast enough that he'd stop before he hit her. Think, think! she repeated to herself, doing everything she could to remember the name on that chart. Shadow!!
"Please, Shadow-sempai!! You're still hurt, you shouldn't leave!!" She pleaded, her eyes shut nervously, afraid he might push her aside. She would have been better off putting a hand on her zapakuto to seem threatening but even if she had she couldn't follow it through, she wasn't threatening with a weapon in any way, all she would have done was made a forcefield so he didn't hurt her, it wouldn't stop him from leaving though. She felt terrible to be forced to ignore Kaigen for the moment but she had no choice, her job came first.

Shadow stopped, his body twitching as he forced his muscles to a stand still. "My Captain is in trial. I cannot lay down and do nothing!" He made to move by her, but would not push past her. It wasn't her fault that she was doing her job. "Please!" Shadow was known for many things, but pleading was DEFINATELY not on that list.

Nani looked up to him, not really sure she understood what he meant. She'd heard nothing of a trial that day, it didn't really surprise her after everyone that had come through her division, including captains, but she'd hadn't heard anything of a trial so soon after so it was a little off the wall to hear. In truth, she'd never faced a situation like that, not once had she had to decide between her patient leaving for a high class trial and risking his life against holding him for treatment. She wasn't sure she knew what to do. It was wrong to keep him, she knew that, but she couldn't just let him go. Bitting her lip nervously, she looked over to one of the nurses who stood in the middle of the hospital. That was about the only compromise she could think of, to send a nurse with him. Her hands shaking nervously, she quickly laced them together behind her back and nodded to him slightly. "You can go, but a nurse has to go with you and you have to come right back. I shouldn't do this at all but... I... I can't risk a trial either. Naosu-taicho will understand better than anyone at that trial I guess..." she muttered softly, slowly moving out of his way as a nurse quickly came to follow Shadow to the central 46 as Nani nodded to her. It wasn't necessarily an instruction, but it was clearly implied and all the nurses around knew someone had to go, quickly. Someone just stepped up to take the job.
Nodding to Shadow slightly, she gave a nervous smile and moved back to Kaigen, her teeth chattering nervously. She wasn't sure if she'd done the right thing or not, but it was all she could think to do. She could only hope her taicho would be understanding.

Kaigen watched as Nani handled the situation like a pro. She was right in letting Shadow attend his comrade's trial. Kaigen would fight his way there himself had he any personal connection to it. He watched, and he was ready to take Nani back warmly, placing a hand on her shoulder, hopefully instilling a calm in her.
"Nani-chan, why don't we go get that tea now? Shadow-san will be fine; if his captain is involved, I'm sure it's urgent he be there."
He thought she might need some reassurance in her decision, and the tea would calm her nerves a great deal, plus, he wanted to get the mood back once and for all.

There was a sudden 'clank'. As a jar of assorted candies was placed down on a small stand right beside Kaigen. It would probably be a quite of a surprise since it seemed like no one was paying attention to him anyway. As it grew later in the day, Makoto had discarded his morning clothing, and jumped into his large teddy bear pajamas, complete with a hood in the shape of a cute face, and ears to match. It was eerie how the round plastic eyes of the bear seemed to bear more life in them than Makoto's eyes.

The boy looked at Kaigen for a moment and blinked. Then he looked over at Nani and tilted his head in curiosity. Normally, one that was injured didn't stand in the hallway, nor did people tend to stay at the hospital longer than necessary. Let alone in the Emergency sector where it was vital to have the hallways as clear as possible for incoming patients. Jibburo sat on his head, making him taller in appearance, and even the stuffed bunny seemed elated to have such a magnificent view from way on top. Makoto continued to stare at Nani, as if expecting something from her. An explanation perhaps? A new objective to complete? A report? It didn't seem to be clear what he was waiting for, since his eyes just stay silent.

"Ah . . . Lieutenant Nawatari-sempai, ne?" Kaigen cooed, really hoping at that point that Nani wasn't in trouble because of him. He hardly thought of Makoto's strange appearance, simply because as a fuku-taicho, even in the 4th division, he would likely be able to manhandle Kaigen a bit.
Makoto's concerns were mildly irrational though. They were in the waiting area, which wasn't really obstructive.

"I'm sure you don't want your tendons or arteries cut without a blade, my dears."

"Ooh! Candy. Makoto-kun, who might these be for?" The ever so surprising, yet light-hearted woman made her appearance after moving about Soul Society under the pretense of "searching for Makoto". Although, what the silver-haired woman had been up to was not quite known. The gentle-smiling woman blinked at Kaigen for a moment before she turned her gaze to Nani and Makoto.
"Kaigen-kun, I'm sorry, but I'm going to take my Fuku-taicho and third-seat for a quiet meeting. You're welcome to return, or visit, in a few moments, but the Hospital will be a bit....under maintenance, you could say." A smile traced her lips as her eyes creased upwards, hands brought together even with the sleeves flowing past her.

Nani looked up to Kaigen and smiled as Shadow moved out of the room, a light blush still covering her cheeks. She was about to say they could leave for tea, she really did want to go with him knowing it would calm her, but the moment her fuku-taicho entered she knew their plans were canceled. Turning slowly, Nani moved to look at Makoto, the color that shaded her cheeks deepening in hue. She took a moment to get a hold of herself, looking straight into his eyes, though it only made her worry he might hae been upset with her. Sure she'd done nothing wrong really, but would anyone find it appropriate that she be spending more time with a patient? Hopefully no one questioned it, she really didn't need the trouble. After trying to figure out what he was trying to ask, she opened her mouth to speak, but any sound that did come out was drowned out by her taicho's immediate squealing at the sight of candy. Immediate, she stepped away from Kaigen, afraid that Naosu might associate the two and start thinking things up, in her dearest opinion they were no more than friends just yet! Oh how she hoped Naosu wouldn't think about it too much, it was just to troublesome to think she might react. Nani knew she had to cover the subject and she was quick to do so, though she was unsure what to say really. "What's this about, Naosu-taicho?" she asked softly, cursing herself for not finding it in herself to speak up. She wasn't really afraid of the woman, she was only nervous around her on occasion because she was Nani's superior, but there was no reason behind her being as quiet as she was.

He turned his head to look at the door before turning back, looking one last time at all three of them, though he lingered fractions of a second longer at Nani. With that, he turned to leave, raising his hand with a little added flick or a wave. "See you around," he muttered, not looking back, but definitely shifting his eyes to glance in the glass door back at them. If they looked in the glass, though they really wouldn't have much reason to save for Nani, they would tell that his face looked a bit longer than usual as he headed towards the tea shop that Nani mentioned earlier. If she didn't think to meet him their, he'd resolve to bring back something for her, but what a fiasco that would be . . . he didn't even know what kind of tea she liked!

Makoto turned his head over at Naosu, and perked up his hand up in a lazy manner in a standard hello. Or at least it seemed to be that way. He produced a piece of paper from his sleeves, and showed it to her. Written in Makoto's childish written and small doodles, was a list of things to do around the hospital. The last thing that was left unchecked was 'Refill on candy in the waiting room'. He then, simply took out a red crayon from his pocket and scribbled a line across that objective, now that it was complete.

The boy looked over at Kaignen, and tilted his head to the side as he left. Makoto, being as observant was he was, noticed his gaze placed longer at Nani-san. Which Makoto noted how much redder she appeared to be. Makoto shrugged his shoulders and looked over at Naosu. With his list complete, he had the time necessary for her meeting and then some. Though in the back of his mind, Makoto still had to answer the letter he received from Shiro-taicho.

Naosu smiled at Makoto before nodding her head at Kaigen, her smile disappearing as his back had turned towards them and he had left. Turning back to her subordinates, she leaned down a bit, to speak to them in hushed tones. "I greatly appreciate the duties you have all magnificently performed. Although, it seems we'll be needing to put our skills to the test quite soon. Makoto, Nani, I need you both to be prepared for anything and anyone who may attend our hospital. As members of the medical field, we shall not shy away from anyone who is physically, mentally, or emotionally harmed. We welcome them, heal them, save them. Is that understood?"

A small smile tugged her lips, almost wanting to grace her serious expression but she held it still before speaking once again. "I want you all to let me know, immediately, of any suspicious activity, persona, or thing. I need to know everything in which is going on for my division. As well...I expect we'll be searching for more Captains and Fuku-Taichos. So stay beside me throughout our hardships to come?" The smile finally won over and was placed upon her lips as she made her request to them, asking so politely, sweetly, that it was something that most would realize she quite meant.

How she knew something was going on without attending most things, was beyond many's thoughts, but it wasn't like she was going to let them in on her secrets.

Makoto quietly read what Naosu-taicho had to say. It was kind of strange for her to speak about their sworn duties in the 4th division since he was sure that they were carrying out those objectives quite well. But Naosu expressed a sort of concern in her facial expression, making Makoto wonder if something bad had happened or something strange was going on. Makoto was bouncing up and down on his toes, then on his heels, and back on his toes, rocking back and forth like a little child. Jibburo, who couldn't stand still with that motion, flopped over Makoto's head and tumbled off in front of Makoto, who held his arms out to catch Jibburo as he fell.

Makoto hugged the bunny close to his chest as he read intently on what Naosu said next. Personally, Makoto had plenty to say about suspicious activities pertaining to the weird way all the captains were acting, or how still the world grew as if it was drawing its breath for something terrible to happen. Then again, it wasn't like as if Naosu didn't know that already. He was sure she knew more than he did anyway.

In response to her, Makoto stuck out his left hand in front of him in a fist except for his little thumb that stuck up in agreement. 'Right on...' Makoto seemed to say, as Jibburo seemed to mimic Makoto's action with the aid of the boy's other hand.

Suddenly, Makoto looked over toward the direction of Central 46. As if some invisible force caught his attention, the boy pulled away from the group and waddled to the nearest window. The boy pressed his face up to the face, and looked up as a pillar of smoke rose from the direction of Central, and a large flying thing could be seen hovering along the horizon.

A smile tugged the Fourth Taicho's lips before they dropped. A chill ran throughout the area, something ridiculously harmful, hurtful, painful, tracing the atmosphere as Makoto's eyes drifted towards Central 46. She hesitated to stand, but slowly raised and turned a quarter of the way to face whomever was there, hiding themselves so skillfully, hiding themselves so well, yet releasing a low amount of sharp and dangerous riatsu.

The dark-haired woman with her scarred eye and red ribbion wrist stood before the Fourth Squad Taicho, blade drawn and red liquid slipping off the sharp blade.

The silver-haired woman stared at the other before allowing the 14th Squad's Fuku-taicho approach her. "Kana-chan..." She spoke carefully.

"Naosu-taicho. Makoto-fuku. Nani-chan.." Her words were slow, careful, almost monotoned.

"What brings you around here?"
"Problems."
"Like what?"
"Soul Society."
"...Pardon?"

Kana came closer, almost a half a foot away from the Taicho before leaning close and down, almost to sneak a peek at Nani and Makoto, a quiet grin traching her lips, the sharp canines more obvious than it should have been.
"It's falling apart. THe system. The people. Corrupt, corrupt. We'll get it fixed though for you guys."

Naosu seemed unfazed for the briefest of moments before Kana had pulled her close by her haiori, whispering words in her ear, clearly, "Shiori, Kazei, many have turned against Soul Society. I've been requested to follow through. Words are dangerous. Actions are seen. But not after all has been destroyed. Wounded have been left behind Watch for the Zero, watch for the unseen. I'll send word, one day."

With that, the fuku-taicho almost stabbed Naosu if it wasn't for the Taicho shoving the woman away, irritable and prepared to fight if it was necessary, although the dark haired woman seemed to have stepped back slightly, almost deranged with her chuckling before pushing her glasses up.

"Well then, I bid ye adieu."

And with that, she stepped back, fell into the floor it seemed as the portal sealed shut as the last strand of her hair fell through.

Rednal entered Fourth Division, carrying a still, robed body in his arms. From the look on the moving Shinigami's face, he didn't seem to be holding a dead person, but rather an injured person. "Delivery for Fourth Division!" Rednal said cheerfully. "One Councilman out cold, and probably at least two more coming, one of them needing treatment quickish-like." with that, he set the man(?) he held onto an emergency table and stepped back out. He didn't particularly care whether this man lived or died, but others might. In the meantime, Rednal felt he had other places to go, and so he didn't stick around.
