::pouts mightily:: I am so miffed. One of the things lost in the fire was my Sims 2 disc, as WELL as the puter that I had my game on! ::sniffs sadly:: I spotted it at Costco yesterday, but at 42 bucks, I decided to pass for now. I miss my Sims! I also miss having the ability to design houses, since then I could use THAT to help me put dimensions properly for what our house WAS and then redesign it so that I could make the most use of the space we have. I've done the best I can with pencil and paper, but it would be SUCH fun to shuffle thigns around easier on the game! LOL, anyone wanna make donations towards this good cause? ::winks teasingly::
(And my goodness, I have a thing for CAPS, don't I?)

PM me an address! I'd be happy to donate to the cause. I don't play the game myself, but my daughter plays the gamecube version. She would "die" without her daily dose of the sims.

Sounds fabulous to me!! blaugh I have two of me in one of my towns.. one named Elizabeth, who is the closest thing to the real me I can get, and one named fawN who is an upgraded me with sexier clothes, makeup, and a more dynamic personality. MysticfawN I have two of me in one of my towns.. one named Elizabeth, who is the closest thing to the real me I can get, and one named fawN who is an upgraded me with sexier clothes, makeup, and a more dynamic personality. The two me's don't like each other.. but Jason's Sim likes them both! rofl LOL!i do that with my sims too, my me sim is my level now, an alter ego is a very nice idea biggrin so now i shall give you the gory tale of fawN's American Idol career... the Idol career was the first option when fawN looked on the pc, seemed like a good omen. whoever wrote this career did it in the traditional sim manner, you get home, get promoted and have to go straight back to work in 2 hours! but it didn't go too swimmingly. first job is as a waitress, that went ok, 2nd was really mean. contestant, with a 12 hour day! poor girl was crawling home with the comfort bar totally in the red. when i got past that level we had a slight disaster in the kitchen sweatdrop whilst cooking a new dish for the first time the stove caught fire. this had an unfortunate effect on fawN who went to pieces on the floor and a wierd therapist bloke turmed up and hypnotised her into thinking she was a chicken! i didn't know this could happen..had to watch out then until i got her aspiration level up again or she'd start talking to a football wearing a mortarboard. but after this minor upset things for fine, it's not the best paying career though! as you move up the ranks you work less as usual, but by the third job you only work 2 days a week and are on less than $200 a day so spending is somewhat curtailed. i stuck with it though and fawN did indeed become American Idol.that isn't the top career though, i've changed to the dancer career as it earns more, then i'll go back to Idol when i've got more cash too play with. i'm intrigued about what the top career will be, maybe you become Britney spears?? rofl

LOL, anyone wanna make donations towards this good cause? ::winks teasingly:: i know you're only teasing, but if you've got a paypal account i'll donate, everyone needs to be able to Sim when they feel the need! i've set Bippy on her rockstar career today as i managed to download some massive hair for her.. seeing as the hair is about the only thing i have a hope of getting fairly accurate, i do try to get the face shape right but it isn't easy! FawN, did you manage to get your me Sims to look like you? Bippy is a Gemini though so that bit's right for a change. i've got my rar.files sorted now so i can download everything and anything i want, my sims now have about 60 food choices at meal times xd now i can't decide who to create next, a more outgoing me, a male sim of my friend Dion who has joined us in conference chat a few times. or redo Nibbles, such decisions! i can spend hours on this game, which isn't healthy i know, i can't believe how the time goes, tells you something about me really doesn't it? that i prefer to immerse myself in an imaginary world instead of living my own sad

oh man! sims 1 with no expansion packs just isn't worth playing! i got a free copy of it with this pc and lost patience with it very quickly.it's only any good with at least one add on, simply so you can phone your pals instead of having to invite them over all the time! i haven't even loaded the original game back onto the pc since i've had sims 2, doesn't seem much point. sims 2 is obviously far better graphocs wise, though beware if your graphics card isn't up to scratch! i had some rubbish thing in this pc and the game ran soo slowly*snore*used to take 5 minutes to load up each section. but my pc fixing friend upgraded my card and it was fine then, he's since upgraded it again and ican see detail that i couldn't before which is cool. all i can say is if you enjoyed the first game then you'll like this one, the game play has been expanded, you can leave your house and go to a community lot to shop or hang out which is good, though it does have a catch. say you leave home at 10am, go to the park, meet a neighbour, play chess, cook some burgers.maybe head home round 7 when it gets dark. once you get back home it will be 10am again, and your poor sim just wants to go to bed! one thing i have noticed about the sims, it definitely seems to be a girls game, and you either love it or hate it. myself i seem to be going through a totally sims phase again at the moment, give me a few more weeks and i'll not play on it again for months, but that's the way these things go isn't it? since my pc rebuild i'm going to have to start over on rollercoaster tycoon too so that wil lbe my next distraction from housework biggrin

I have Sim Theme Park, and I like trapping my guests so after they get off the rides, they're stuck throwing up on each other and wandering around in the trash. It's funny too if I let them buy balloons or masks, and they're all walking around with their merchandise until they get more and more crowded. Eventually I clear an opening and they all stream for the exit! (Ok, that's mean, but it's a fun experiment!)
Jackie, I have made my Sim look very much like me, imo! I'll take some screenshots sometime, although it will take forever switching windows and waiting for the game to load itself again each time..
That sounds hilarious what happened to me! Being hypnotized to think I'm a chicken?! Is that something that happens because you downloaded something, or do you think that happens in the default game?
The nice things I like about Sims 2 are the different age catagories, not just baby, kid, and adult, but also toddler, teen, elder, and if you get Sims University, young adult. It hit me the other day.. I wonder if a Sim who graduates with a college degree will start higher on the career ladder if they get a job in their field? I haven't tried it yet, but it would make sense, and be motivation for going to college (and maybe this motivation will spread to kids who play it!)
I also like how in Sims 2 you can do silly things like lounge on the group watching clouds, or jump on the couch, or kids can play 'pirate' in the bathtub, or you can juggle bottles in the fridge or coffee mugs from your coffee machine, or streak around for fun in college and 'dance' for people.
When I create a sim of myself, I'm always a Cancer personality, with moderately high niceness and activeness, really low playfulness (very serious), quite shy, and extremely neat. With full neatness, I have fun cleaning! And I make myself have a Knowledge Aspiration, although it's hard to fulfill things like seeing a ghost or getting abducted by Aliens.

I want to try out the degree/job thing, whether someone with a degree will start off higher on the career ladder, so I created Jazmyn and sent her through college yesterday evening, and she got a 4.0 the whole time! It was tougher going through college off-campus, though, because it takes much more time to cook and clean rather than have it done for you, so it was harder to keep her mood up. Now I'm moving her back to Willow Wood today, and she'll get a job in her field! She'll probably either be an artist or a cook. I thought about putting her in show business, but I didn't like the other jobs in the degrees that required!
