Xurdion had zoned out and was now completely oblivious to everything that was going on around him. He knew that the new kid that was trying out for keeper almost hexed one of his teammates but all he did was fly there, apathetic and sentimental. "Bloody hell, not this again.." He hated when he got like this and he bet the team did as well. It was unfortunate because once he started to feel sorry for himself he couldn't stop and he disliked that about himself. He shook his head as he tried to snap out of it but found that he couldn't. "Guys, I'm going to take a walk or something, I'll be back soon...I hope." He added the last part under his breath, his voice sounded sad despite the fact he was trying hard not to be. He didn't want to make the team suffer for now so he lowered himself to the ground and walked into the woods, once he was far enough away he sat down next to a tree and stared up towards the canopy of the trees. "It's nice..." He thought as he looked up at the sky. He longed to rejoin the team but knew that until he got over himself, he couldn't. So he stayed there for a substantial amount of time before he finally got over it. He got on his broom and launched back towards the field. "Sorry about that guys, you know how I can get sometimes. Anyways, kid, try and jinx one of us again and I'll personally make sure you won't be able to fly a broom again, ever." The last part was a little harsh but he thought the kid deserved it.

((Sorry guys, I didn't manage to get on yesterday so I missed a lot. But here is a sentimental post about Xurdion so...))

Lori, who had previously zoned out, shook her head, looking around. Wow, apparently a lot of stuff happened, she thought, doing a 360 degree turn to register all of her surroundings once more. As she had a hand stuck into her massively massive pockets, she caught sight of the old keeper. "Kani!!!" Lori shrieked, zoming over her and pulling out yet another bag, this time with flower petals. Taking out a handful, she sprinkled them over her friend while putting the rest of the bag back into her pocket. When her hand was finally empty, Lori dropped down so she was at Kani's level. "Sorry, I was kinda, sorta, really zoning out." Lori grinned, flying in circles around her friend, singing 'For (S)he's a Jolly Good Fellow' over and over again. Taking out the bag, Lori began to thrown assorted flower petals in the air over Kani as she sang.

Jordan put on a little extra burst of speed to cath up with Amelia quicker, but he slowed down once beside her. The boy opened his mouth to compliment her on her flying, but once again someone had spoken before he got the chance. At the girl's apology, Jordan shook his head reassuringly, "Don't apologize," he said with a smile, "that kid could under anyones skin. Heck, he even made me angry there for a minute." After he finished talking, Jordan continued to fly at a steady speed beside the girl while he tried to think of something to say without embarassing himself.
Luckily Amelia saved him from making a social fauxpa by taking the initiative and complimenting him on his flying. Her approval of his skill made Jordan blush, "Really?" He questioned, "Wow. Thank you. That means a lot coming from someone on the house team. I'm sure you could fly circled around me anyday," he wasn't lying. Jordan was sure that anyone on the team could probably outfly him. Thankfully, it wasn't the job of the keeper to fly around the field. He only had to worry about a certain area throughout the game. "Yeah, the Cleansweeps aren't always the fastest," he responded to Amelia's comment, "In fact they almost went out of business. Then they came out with this brand new model that I'm flying, the Cleansweep3000. I know it's a gaudy name, but it fly's nice. It has awesome control, and decent speed. I've been practicing all summer you know."

Jumping in spot was certainly painful because the wood of the tree trunk seemed to chafe her shoulders a bit, but the sting went ignored because of her current distraction. Lori was certainly one who could brighten anyone's day by her silly yet charming antics. And having the flower petals shimmering down from above made her feel quite princess-like. A few of the petals stuck in her tousled locks, making her look as though she rolled in a field of flowers. And when Lori proceeded in dancing about with a chanting tune about her lips, Kani couldn't help but let herself laugh so completely and with all inhibitions tossed away. The entire thing was so good natured of her friend.

"Lori," Kanita twirled the 'L' off her tongue, "Will you serenade me like this every time I show up to a practise?" A grin spread wide across her face and showed off pearly white teeth. An actual giggle slipped from Kani as more flowers showereed down. This was the most good smelling bath she believed was ever given to her. 'How lovely.'

Now the childesque song was stuck in Kani's head and she found herself humming along with Lori while stretching out her tanned legs before herself. Realising that Vlaityn had switched from speaking to Joel, to addressing herself, Kani smiled, grateful to still be included a tad. "I'd love to help hold tryouts... or is this the tryout? Either way, I'm there for you Vlaityn. Just glad you'd keep me around." Her last words were said jokingly but still with gratitude.

"Joel, you would run that place masterfully! You're a damn great cook, and you know it. And an entertaining host. I'd come visit you all the time!" Vlaityn quipped in a supporting manner; she only wanted Joel to be happy. And if the B&B could do that, then great! Content with the thought, Vlaityn messed up his hair slightly, knowing how it irked him.

Finally releasing Joel, Vlaityn rolled her eyes slightly at Kanita before giving the girl a large grin. "Keep you around? If you don't watch it we might just never let you leave, dearest. And that would be an awkward situation to try and clear up, hmm? Ransom notes, secret hideouts, threats, messy business, I tell you..." Vlaityn rambled on slightly, losing herself.

"Which, I suppose, is my long-winded way of practically begging you to help out with try-outs." Vlaityn's outright smile turned somewhat lopsided and apologetic. She didn't want to seem dependent, but Kani just had such a way with this stuff. Not to mention having her around was always a blast.

Not that her entire mood was positive. People who were paying close attention would have noticed that Vlaityn grinned discretely at Xurdion's angry, non-serious threat. Nothing riled her team like a bit of anger and competition.

Lori grinned at Kani. "Hmmm... Well... I think I'll do this if you come in a bad mood." As she bag emptied, she crossed over to the other two, tapped the three bags with her wand, and promptly turned them into three piles of flower petals. Pointing her wand at the three piles, she muttered a spell, causing them to all rise up, start to distribute evenly into a rather large circle of flowers in the air, and hover to where Kani was. Removing her spell, the flowers all drifted down and landed on an assortment of things, Kani, the tree, just about everything. The wind even carried some to Vlaityn and Joel. Grinning, she sat on the grass, setting her broom beside her, and started to whistle 'God Save the King'.

A dark haired girl stepped out of the castle and onto the grounds of Hogwarts. Looking both ways, her amber eyes sparkled. Catching sight of figures in the air, she smiled, shaking her head, as she headed over to them. "Hey, guys," Sophie called to them, a grin spread across her face like a blanket. Sophie hadn't seen her friends in about forever, having only arrived at Hogwarts several days ago. In addition, until now, she had been too busy with her teachers and such to search for them. Soaking in her surroundings, Sophie wished she had her Nimbus 2009 with her, so she could join everyone in the air. Taking out her wand, she muttered, "Accio," thinking of her broom on her bed, and quickly put the black wand away, back into the safety of her pocket. Looking around as she waited, Sophie noticed something off, though she couldn't name it. "Did I miss anything?" She asked, hoping someone would name the thing she couldn't. Continuing to look, she made sure everyone was there, assuming Amelia and Seth were the ones in the sky, racing or something. So there's Amelia, Seth, Xurdion, Kani, Lori, Vlaityn, Joel, and some new kid, she thought absentmindedly. Wait, some new kid??? Looking back, she confirmed the fact that there was, indeed, some fourth year with the rest of the team. "What's with the new kid?" Sophie asked no one in particular, her brow furrowed. As Sophie asked her question, there was a whoosh and her dark, sleek Nimbus 2009, with blue details, stopped right in front of her. Grabbing it with one hand, she held it, though not getting on just yet. Although Sophie was a fan of Quidditch, she had always been satisfied with flying around and helping the team if needed, allowing other Quidditch-addicts get on the team they had been training for all year. And it was also because Sophie never really thought she had the skill to actually be on the team.

Amelia smiled at Jordan's comment about her out flying him. "Don't get me started. You are flying on a Cleansweep and you caught up to a Nimbus, that's pretty impressive. I can just imagine you on the newer Firebolts you would probably out run us all." Amelia looked down onto the ground where the rest of her team was still talking except for one. "Hmm, I guess my other chaser got fed up and decided to leave the pack." she said to Jordan now addressing the fact that Xurdion was now missing. "I'm kind of surprised he didn't come up here. He usually flies to clear his head." Casting another glance at the ground, Amelia noticed that another Ravenclaw had joined the group. She couldn't really tell from the height she was flying but Amelia was almost absolutely certain that it was Sophie that joined the crowd. Sophie always expressed interest in joining the Quidditch team and also Amelia remembered over hearing Sophie talking to Kani about it one day. Turning back to Jordan, Amelia said "Looks like more competition is approaching. Good thing Jason doesn't have his wand right?" .....

"Hey! It's Sophie! What's the haps, man? I haven't seen you in like...forever." Xurdion said, happy to see his friend was alive and well, noting the fact that there had been a rumor that she had died. "So, I see your friend pulled through for you and hooked you up! Nice. You know, there's been this bizarre rumor that you died of some unknown disease. Glad to see it's false." Xurdion smirked as he flew down to her level. "Anyways, check this out man, my throwing arm as improved a lot since you last saw it." Xurdion reached down and picked up a rock, he threw it towards the stump of a large tree in the distance, it flew in a straight line at a fast speed. "Yo, you trying out for the team again? I hope you make it this year so that our team will rock." He couldn't help but smile, he had reverted back to his old "skater" lingo from when he was a kid, he had watched to many movies and thought that all Americans spoke like that but he even after he found out the truth, he still thought it was pretty cool so now it grew on him. "The new kid? Yo, he's a real pain, I'd stay away from him if I were you." He pointed one of his thumbs back towards the keeper goal where the new kid was. "Pretty defiant as well, although, if he wants to have a shot at getting on this team he'd probably best make a good impression on all of us. Yo Vlaityn, do we all get a say in if he makes it or not? I mean, you get the last say and all but do we get to put in our two cents?" For some reason his bad mood just seemed to dissappear. "Oh and uh, my friend here wants to tryout for the team!" He smirked and gave a small laugh as he looked at Sophie. "You'll thank me for this one day, or not." He added the last part to make sure he had all of his bases fully covered.

((Too much Skate., the lingo has attatched itself to me.))

((Gah, Ivalice! That was so lame. XD I really shouldn't have made you play it that much.))

Sophie grinned as Xurdion started to talk to her, having almost forgotten about his 'phase'. Though her smile faltered a bit when he said that there was a rumor she had died, her smile returned when he continued to comment on the new kid. Unfortunately, when Xurdion called out to Vlaityn, the team captain, she gaped. "Dude, not cool," Sophie said, shaking her head. "I can bet you there are a bunch of people who wished their whole lives to get onto the Ravenclaw team." She thought for a second. "And I will most likely suck. I don't want to make a fool of myself when I just got here."

Jason saw yet another keeper this one just about more popular than the other one. I can't handle this any more. He quietly walked over to Kani and asked her, his voice barley higher than a whisper,"May I have my wand back? I'm leaving.... I have some homework to do." He couldn't believe he was doing this after years of quidditch with his family and bullying from his brothers,he thought he could of taken this kind of heat. Apparently not.

Letting a slow breath escape and pulling herself to her feet, in which plenty of petals fell from her lap and shoulders but many still remained tangled in her hair, Kani stepped over to Vlaityn and swung an arm over the girl's shoulder. It was done in a very buddy-buddy manner and only half the hug that Kani needed, but she didn't want her loose threads unraveling in the least. So her affections remained a bit distant but still affectionate all the same. "Ransom notes, hahahhh, you flatter me with the intricacies of your dastardly plans of my kidnapping. Of course it'd be entirely my honor to rot away in any hideout of yours."

Her steps were airy as she danced away from Vlaityn, sashaying her hips in a playful seduction, as if Vlaityn would be taken by Kanita's antics. 'As if Sezer wasn't already the only candy that Vlaityn had a craving for.' Kani snickered lightly at the thought. With each step, the tiny tanned witch's feet crushed the flower petals and released their sweet scent into the air. She quickly returned to Lori, bending at the hip with her hands on her knees and kissing both sides of her friends face. "I'm never in a bad mood, don't fret over me Lori-lye. Seeeee," and Kanita stood and spun, as if because she was physically unharmed, she was perfect in every other aspect as well, "just peachy."

Sitting back where her butt's impression remained in the grass, Kanita laid down, placing her head in Lori's lap. The sun felt warm on her face, surely bringing out its rosiness. A soft, suddenly sleepy smile turned up the corners of her mouth in the slightest. Her eyelids dropped and the wind acted as a lullaby singing sweetly against her sensitive skin. Barely, Kanita registered that Sophie had appeared. It wasn't till a saddened voice reached her ears that she peeled open her eyes to stare at the innocent face of Jason. Him using the excuse of homework to leave tugged at her heart, for the Ravenclaw was sometimes overly sensitive. Especially when she didn't want to deal with her own emotions and mentality. "Are you sure you wouldn't care to join me here, we can watch the practice. I mean, Jason, there is always next year. Being only a fourth year... well you can learn lots from observing. Plus next year, plenty of us are graduating. You'll have your chance. Be patient." She tried to smile up and the youngling, but the sun was in her eyes and blinding. "Whatever you choose, here is your wand." Pulling out her own wooden swish stick, Kani spoke the charmed words, "Accio Jason's wand" and proceeded to hand it back to its rightful owner. It was not a decent thing to do to take someone else's wand, as its a personal item, but kani could see why Amelia would do as such in that situation.

Still tired and still laying on Lori's lap, Kani's words sounded a bit mumbled as she spoke, "Lori, when you need to practice just say the word. Don't go dumping my head onto the floor." Her laugh came lazily at her lame joke. But her brain was much to fogged by daydreams to work with its proper intelligence. And her daydreams were much to tempting to leave; Kanita's feet skimmed the clouds as if they were a pond of water and her flying overhead. The birds were her friends and companions in flight. Not leaving her side even as she dipped and spun...

((edit: whoops, apparently I cannot sit still and properly read a post today. I've edited my post to make sense. :'3 ))

"Looks like Jason wants to leave." Amelia pointed out to Jordan. Looking down at the ground she noticed that Jason was over by Kani now and Kani handed him back his wand. (OOC: My character never gave Kanita the wand. Amelia still had it in her pocket but too late now.) 'Stupid kid. Turns around and throws a coniption (sp?) fit over the fact that other potential keepers showed up and now wants to throw in the towel. If that's how he is going to be then I don't see him ever making the team especially while Vlaityn is in charge.'

Amelia knew as well as anyone that anyone who wasn't going to fight for what they wanted was never going to get it but then again Jordan did the same exact thing that Jason was doing right now. Jordan backed out of his opportunity but because everyone on the team liked Jordan he was given more than a fair shake. 'This isn't right' Amelia thought to herself but, what was she going to do about it. The conflict of flying down there and convincing Jason to stay or to let him go and deal with his "defeat" while she silently cheered the arrogant b@#%*rds choice to willingly leave and not taint the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

Amelia stopped flying around on her broom and sat in the air for a few moments letting Jordan pass her. 'The only thing different between Jason and Jordan was that Jordan never tried to hurt his competition. Jordan tried for his spot but when a little fear took over he walked away causing no trouble or drama for anyone else on the Quidditch team. Jason on the other hand drove everyone, except for maybe Lori and Joel crazy which caused our team to be forced to have a biase against him.'

"Ugh" Amelia screamed while clutching her head in agony. She was starting to get a headache from this whole mess and if Amelia continued to stay in the air she would probably fall off her broom. 'I can't stay up here anymore.' she decided calling to Jordan, Amelia said. "Jordan, I'm going to take a break. Keep flying around and I'll see you back on the ground later." Unlike earlier when she was showing off, Amelia pointed the nose of her broom downward and made a small decent towards the ground near Kani and Lori. When she got close enough, Amelia leveled out her broom and climbed off. Plopping down on the grass, Amelia laid back on the grass and closed her eyes. The headache that she now had will not be going away for awhile. .....

((OOC: Don't take this the wrong way, but how did Jordan back out? Do you mean from when he first tried out in his second year?))

Jordan was surprised to see that Amelia had left so suddenly, but he was more surprised to see another student there with a broom. He couldn't be positive, but it seemed that they would most likely be trying out for keeper as well. This made Jordan even more nervous, but at the same time it made him feel an even greater drive to play the best he could, and get on the team.

Now alone in the air, Jordan took a moment to look at his surroundings. After all, taking the enviromental conditions in during a quidditch match was important before playing a game. Player's would have to think about how strongly the winds blowing, and in what direction, especially keepers. If a chaser was tactical then they would throw into the wind, which could give the keeper an idea of which goal they might try to score through. Jordan rose to a little more height and felt the chilly wind even through his robes. One good thing about the weather was how it was cloudy and overcast. That would reduce the chances of a glare. All in all it seemed like prime conditions for a match, albeit a cool wind.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 15, 2009 6:59 pm

[(OOC: Yea that is exactly what I meant. Cause you did say your character backed out of tryouts before.)]

Amelia felt bad for leaving Jordan up in the air alone but at the moment her head was spinning with millions of questions. Amelia remembered her first time trying out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team in her second year (A/N I'm going by the books that the first year new students can try out is in their second year.) and how she had to go up against one potential chaser who could fly circles around her any day. Amelia remembered being so scared when it was her turn to take a shot at the goal but a stroke of luck though really an accident had Amelia beat out the rival chaser by one goal. That accident was the same exact play Amelia pulled earlier on Jason, when she purposely slid off her broom and lobbed the quaffle into the nearest hoop. Of course back then she really lost her balance trying to catch the quaffle and in a hurry to get back on her broom, Amelia threw the quaffle towards the hoop so that she could get a better grip and not fall to her death. When she was told she made the team, Amelia couldn't help but think that what happened to her was just a fluke and she even mentioned that in a letter to her father that night. However, her father told her in his reply that things happen for a reason and it was up to Amelia to proof that it wasn't a mistake. Sure enough in the first match, Amelia came out fighting and scored 30 points in their game against Gryffindor. As the day wore on, the sun continued to beat down on Amelia's face and it was making Amelia's headache worse. Sitting up for a moment, Amelia pulled off her Quidditch robe leaving her in just her blue and bronze sweater and her grey Quidditch pants. Amelia then laid back down and placed her robe over her face successfully blocking out the sun. At that point in time, Amelia wished that she didn't leave her aspirin in her trunk so that she could get easy access to them with a summoning charm. Before she left for school, Amelia's dad put a spell on her trunk so that no spells could be used to steal things out of her trunk and so that only Amelia could open it manually. 'Lot of good that does me now, since that spell won't recognize me performing the summoning charm.' Mumbling to Kani, Amelia said, "Kani, do you have an aspirin? I got a killer headache right now." .....

Jason took his wand from Kani and said" Thanks for the offer but no thanks."
He saw Amelia land near them clutching her head and then asking Kani for an asprin. He walked over reaching into his pocket for a small packet in his pocket. Where are those Tylenonol? Finally he found what he was looking for and took out two of the small capsules. He walked over to Amelia fearful if she would jinx him or something and told her," Try these. It ain't an asprin but it'll probably do just fine."
