Annan smiled, and laughed as Coalan woke up and started to stumble around. He quickly blocked the edge of the den, but allowed him to stumble around in the den. He looked adorable trying to find his way around, the first time he really had tried. He looked over at Aponi-still feeded their daughter the herbs, and smiled at her in wonder. He could not believe his son was already trying to explore.

The little girl batted her eyes open at her mother who was trying gently to get her to eat the terrible tasting herbs. Startled by the sudden opening of her eyes she jumped back and then realized what had happened and looked at her kits in satisfaction. It was the first time she had opened her eyes since being born. Happy that she had a healthy kit and looking into her eyes she said "hi Alaxandara" in a soft gentle voice.

Annan watched happily as she greated Alaxandara, and then went and rubbed against the kit lightly before watching Coalan again. He laughed as Coalan stumbled over to Alaxandara and nudged her with his head, trying to get her to get up and play. He was so happy that both of their kits seemed to be happy and healthy, and he could not wait for them to start to grow up. He looked over at Aponi, pride in his eyes about his kits.

Seeing Coalan trip over Alaxandara she helped him up, picking him up by the scruff of his neck she carefully placed him next to her side wrapping her tail around him. Aponi noticed her voice didn't even phase Alaxandara baffled Aponi said Coalans name wondering if he would respond. could Alaxandara be deaf she wondered to herself not saying anything to scare her mate Annan.

Coalan walked over to Aponi when she called him, rubbing against her side on his still shaky legs. He curled up beside her and promptly laid down to talk a nap. He was not used to moving around yet.
Annan laughed at Coalan a little, and then looked over at Aponi, sensing her worry. "What is wrong?" he asked her, looking over at her, very concerned.

Feeling Coalans presence against her side she instinctively wrapped her tail around him to give him warmth. Calling a little louder the kit didn't respond. Feeling her mate by her side she said "Can you call Alaxandara?" she asked him wondering if her voice was to soft.

He nodded, starting to realize what her fears were. He too was a little scared as he said, "Alaxandara" in a fairly loud, but not quite yelling voice. He waited anxiously to see if she would respond to his summons, terrified that Aponi may very well be right. He kept an eye on Coalan as he waited for some noise from Alaxandara to acknowledge his voice.

Aponi watched Alaxandara anxiously, why must this happen she thought to herself nervously. She watched her lovely daughter and hoped for a response. Alaxandara looked confusedly at her parents wondering what they where doing but decided it was an adult thing and with a yawn fell asleep. Aponi's fears had been true and she looked at Annan's concerned face and then back to her daughter.

He looked over at her, scared, but then took a deep breath, and said, "It will be okay, Aponi. We will figure out a way to communicate with her, through looks or actions. She is still young, she will learn quickly." As he said this, he tried not to let his own doubts show, and worked hard not to let Aponi see how scared he was, because he was trying to help her to be calm.

"Yes I have treated deaf fox's and they can usually make them understand" she said trying to calm herself down. Aponi knew the touches and the looks and expressions that the deaf fox's learned. Aponi knew them but hadn't the slightest clue on how to teach her daughter on how to communicate.

He nodded, and then sat down quickly, trying to relax. "We will figure this out, Aponi, I promise. I am not sure how yet, but I know it will be okay." He walked over to her and rubbed against her reassuringly. Then, he sat again and rubbed his cheek against hers softly. He did not know how else to help her, but he knew he had to try.

"Don't worry Annan I know we will" love and the sheer urge to protect her daughter surged through her and coursed through her very veins if she is deaf she will have the best life a deaf fox can have she vowed to herself. Aponi was determined and didn't feel sorrow she felt only love and determination . Worried about Annan she rubbed her cheek against his and said "I will be fine what about you?"

"Scared and worried, but I will be okay, she'll be okay." he said, proud of his brave love and both of his children. He was still scared, but he was sure that he could handle it with Aponi at his side. He loved his family so much and nothing would change that.

"Yes I think we all are, except the kit's who find ways to make things work better then most adults" she giggled for once since she discovered her kit was deaf. Aponi knew her daughter was a fighter and would make it work I guess you could call it a mother intuition but she just knew.

Annan relaxed once Aponi did. He knew that stuff may be hard for a while, but he also knew that if any family could handle it they could. He laughed when he saw Coalan and Alaxandara start to play, glad to see his daughter moving around and reacting to another fox. He could tell she was strong, she took after her mother after all, and knew that it would be fine all of a sudden. He sat down and watched the two kits play happily
