And I know the feeling of getting obsessed. I do so too. It's rare that I just like something. And even then I'm likely to forget about it. But I obsess over things all the time. But it's so much more fun than just liking something.

And even then I'm likely to forget about it. But I obsess over things all the time. But it's so much more fun than just liking something. 'Least you saw it, Baka. Yay, someone else who understands! It is also rare for me that I just like something...I get completely and utterly and scarily obsessed with it. It actually is more fun than just liking something. Mwahaha *dances around* I've seen some clips of the movie on youtube, but that's about it. Lol, my mom was watching an episode of Family Matters earlier and I had forgotten that their last name was Winslow, so I was all like "OMG...Winslow!" And I became somewhat hysterical because I realized that every time I hear that name I'm probably going to think of you and your Winslow obsession. *Tries to will the DVD of PotP to appear in her hand using only the power of her mind* Come to me, DVD... Anyway, glad you liked the plushie mrgreen

Y'know, I can't help but find it odd that you have this Winslow revelation the same time as you find out your mother doesn't hate the movie.
Edit: And so what if you wouldn't get along with him in real life? He's not a real person, so you'll never have to face that situation. Go ahead and fangirl him all you like.
If you're only allowed to obsess over people you'd actually get along with in real life, 99.99% of POTO phans would be out of luck.

So you seem to have seen the correlation. My mom was the one who pointed out the reasons our personalies would clash.
And about not caring...that would interfere with the reality of our personalities. And I don't know about the rest of the fandom, but I like to keep my fantasies plausable in terms of character personality, thank you very much.
But, you know what? I say ******** it. Maybe my fantasies will change a bit. But who cares? I'm sure there would be some way we could get along. Maybe we'd fight, but I've gotten into some extraordinarilly hostile fights with people who later became some of my best friends. So maybe, just maybe it wouldn't end with copious amonts of blood.
I just need some time getting used to these facts.
Don't worry. The world's not ripping apart. Hell's not freezing over. I still think that Winslow is the sexiest movie character ever. The legendary obsession is by no means ending.

Whoa...I actually spent an entire day away from the computer yesterday *is shocked at this* Anyway, I'm really glad your Winslow obsession is not coming to an end. Really, when I think of all the guys I've obsessed over that I probably wouldn't get along with in real life....*sigh* But you remind me of myself when you say you like to keep your fantasies plausable in terms of character personality. I've spent a long time thinking of how I would get along with...certain people in real life. So I understand your traumatized-ness (hehe, making up words is always fun when you can't think of the right one to use). I'm glad your mother liked the movie, anyway. And who knows? Maybe there would be some way you would get along with him. Anyway, I'm half-asleep right now so I hope that didn't all come out as gibberish or something...heh *goes to make coffee*

Last time I was obsessed to the extent of living, breathing and collecting stuff from a movie, it was Star Wars. Only to a lesser extent. And LotR less than Star Wars. But PotP and the ubiquitous (thanks to me) Winslow have topped them all.

Well, then we'll just have to pack up, go to New York and beg on William Finley's doorstep.
It's fun to think of new interactions 'cause it just lets me think of him...and talk about him...and obsess over him more. And I get to thrash to music while doing so.
