Naoko sighs, hand on her forehead. Could the man ever learn? Before she could reply to Rubicant's offer, she suddenly hears the sounds, sounds that no normal person could hear.
"Does anybody...smell...that?!?" Phey cries out, her body bent back as if ready to spring.
Naoko looks around towards the others, apparently they have not yet heard. She then steps out of the group, and approaches two objects that looks similar to trees.
"I'll take care of it...it's just the demons lurking about," she calmly replies and puts her hand in the middle of the two trees, her eyes glowing a dark red.
She begins to whisper in her native tongue, but with the help of the amulets, the others begin to understand what she is saying.
I am the Void. I fill the light with darkness upon my will
The sun sets rather quickly, and shadows...no ghosts begin to appear around the group in a circle.
A red flame shoots out of Phey's amulet, encircling a ghost nearby with red. I am the Fire, the one who commands the flames of heaven and hell.
A blue flame shoots out of Shao's amulet, again encircling another ghost with blue. I am the Water. I flood and purify the towns of evil and disgrace.
A bright yellow flame shoots out of Baikasu's amulet. I am the Sky and Lightning, able to destroy the ones who seek power against me.
A dark green flame flutters out of Daewyn's amulet. I am the Earth, restoring the life upon the land.
A dark violet yet glowing flame seeps out of Rubicant's pouch to his surprise. He didn't really think that he had anything that would benefit the group. And I am the master of the Elements, Dios, sending forth my guardians upon the land to watch over the demons of Morcadia, gate of Hell.
The flames begin to circle around the group, rotating clockwise like a spinning top. They all showed no ill will, but the others were on guard; they weren't sure exactly what Naoko was doing.
Reveal thy hiding place, the blood of our kind seeks entry, Naoko whispered.
The five guardians of elements and their master disintegrated into the mist surrounding them. A bright light flooded everyone's vision and slowly, the town of Melbane revealed its true colors....and they were standing right in front of its gates.
Naoko removed her hand from the pedastal, and turned towards her companions, not wanting to see the destruction of her hometown just yet. She lets out a weak smile,
"Welcome to Melbane, everyone."

"Nice job!" Baikasu says, with a smile, to Naoko."Let's go in, shall we?"
*phey holds her amulet in her hand to inspect it... it didn't seem any different then it did before. the surface of it was cold again. she stuffed it in her pouch to see to it later and looks up at the new location.*
Phey: "Whoa. so this is Melbane eh? ... it's not all bad... i mean, i've seen worse. look, everything's not in ruins."
*in the lower left side of the city a white-washed roof could be seen over the rubble. and in the upper right of the city, a skinny white-washed building could also be spotted from where they stood. both structures looked unharmed. Phey walked up to Naoko, not taking her eyes off the city.*
Phey: "could one of those be the temple?" *sniff sniff*
*the smell was still there, but it wasn't as strong anymore.*
"Those? Oh, you mean the buildings here?" Naoko asks, finally turning to set her eyes upon her ruined hometown. "...No...actually, they used to be shops..."
She finally takes a step forward into the gates, ignoring the ghostly whispers of the wind. "It's a bit dangerous here. A Melbane native's body can die physically, but their soul lives on. So...there will be a lot of encounters with the dead here. Most are pretty friendly...but beware of some. They might look welcoming at first, but they hold true magic within their souls. I think it'll be best if we stick together. The temples are on the other side of town."
"Well let's get going then...and be careful. We should warn each other when we suspect anything happening"
*Shao and Baikasu exchange a brief look, then they both glance at Rubicant for a second*
Shao sounded calm, but he was actually deep in thought. After that magnificent blue light escaping from his amulet, he felt like some sort of power was unleashed within him. What this power can do, and whether it will aid him or handicap him is not known for the time being...

Baikasu says to himself, What was that strange yellow light? I feel strange. Then he starts walking, staying alert of his surroundings, and his comrades.
Shao thinks back to when Naoko was summoning the spell...
He understood what Naoko was speaking, even though he had never heard the language before. Then he feels a very light sensation in his body and before he knew it he was in a new town....Melbane...but for some reason this town does not feel new at all. Shao feels as if he has been here before....in a dream or reality he was unsure of, but...it feels familiar...
"Naoko..." Shao says shyly.
He's a little shocked by Naoko's actions lately. He has not met her for long, but he never imagined anyone with such immense magic abilities. He looks at the others, and everyone else too --except Rubicant, who does not look surprised at all -- seems to be a little nervous.
"Do you mind...explaining a few things to the rest of us while we walk?"
"Naoko, do you mind...explaining a few things to the rest of us while we walk?" Shao asks.
She knew that she was going to be asked the question sooner or later. Naoko continues walking, carefully thinking about her answer.
"Melbane...was a town of many that was hidden from the world; a city of magic," she begins, "The people were to be the guardians against those down in Hell...but the outside world misunderstood. Our powers come naturally, unlike some people who have to read the scriptures to learn the spell, so it's natural to feel jealous of those who were BORN into magic."
The ghosts of children ran around them, laughing, oblivious to its newcomers.
"We didn't speak your language. Actually, the majority of us with the exception of the elders never knew that there WAS an outside world. It wasn't until some expeditioners managed to decipher Melbane's seal when we were capable of speaking your tongue," she continues. "The elders refused to trust the outsiders, eventually ousting them out of Melbane. We are one of many who knew the true story of the creation of the world, the amulets, and whatnot. It's really a legend...nobody knows why it existed or who started the legend of the amulets."
"I guess you can say...that I'm one of the few who learned to speak like how I do now....my mother married a normal person, so I'm only half human, half Melbane. The same with my brother. That's why I look human...most Melbane can be able to morph their bodies into what they desire," she stops in front of a dilapidated home and picks up a stone. "That's another reason why the outsiders came in to destroy us. We were just too strong, too powerful for their liking. Since they knew how to break the seal, we were caught off guard. Only a few of us, including myself and my brother, survived the massacre of Melbane."
She tosses the stone against the wall of the home, and it shatters into pieces like glass. The ghost children scurry away, their glowing eyes once filled with laughter now with sorrow.
"What about those...things that popped out of our amulets?" Phey asks.
Following Naoko, they all enter the home, though still a bit wary as more whifs of ghosts scurry about.
"Those are the masters of elements," Naoko replies. "Every time one master dies, they pass on their powers to another Melbane to keep the element alive. I myself inherited the powers of the Void through my mother...who tried to save me and my brother during the massacre. My brother's powers, however....he didn't inherit them. He was born into it, the power of the sky. That's why his eyes shift amber when he calls upon his element."
"The Melbane massacre...how long ago was it?" Shao asks, curious to know.
Naoko smiles slightly, looking down at the ground. "The massacre was about sixteen years ago....so it was pretty recent."
She turns around. "Let's stay here for the night. The temple's still pretty far off from here, and I don't think it's safe to wander around when the townspeople are awake and searching for other souls."

*as they went into the house, phey stopped outside to door and lefted her head to sniff the air, then headed inside after the others. she still had so many questions. the oncoming darkness and the walking souls was making Phay nervous, she tried to get mind onto other subjects before her cracks. *
Phey: "Naoko... do you know exactly what to do once we get inside the temples? is there some sort of ritual or directions or something?
Daewyn lay down, but she couldn't sleep. The events of the day had made her quieter than normal, and also more contemplative. She looked down at the amulet around her neck. So this has the power of the earth? I wonder why I got it and why that woman I stole it from had it. Strange that after all my years of theivery I would finally find an item like this, and then run into the others without pawning it! There has to be something bigger at work here.
Unable to sleep, Daewyn sat up. Seeing that Naoko was awake and talking with Phey. She got up and quietly stepped over to where they sat. "I'm sorry if any of my comments earlier offended you. I know what it's like to lose your family, but I was wondering. If you still have a brother alive, why don't you travel with him? If I had any family left I would never leave their side."
Naoko looks up at Phey.
"..No, not really. All I know is that there are some puzzles to solve..." she sighs. "I've never actually been into the temple, actually. Only the masters of elements and the elders were allowed inside, so I'm not sure what to expect there."
Baikasu, while standing on the roof as a guard, wonders to himself, I wonder if any of them knows about the destruction of Baskai Village. Probably not, since we were very isolated to the outside world up to our destruction. Was it really only five years ago? It seems longer. But, then, I did do a lot since then. He tries then to look back back at his childhood.Hmm. That's strange. I can't remember anything before the age of ten. All I remember about that time was waking up to be told that I was in a coma for a year, and that they didn't know where I was from, who my parents were, or anything. Then they took me under thier wing... He then jumps down from the roof, goes inside, and says quietly, "Hi. Mind if I come in?"Okay, this is too much of a coincidence. Anyway, I think I'll check up on everyone.

*As everyone stays around the house, Rubicant quietly sneaks off thinking to himself. He grips the item he took from Mik what seems like so long ago... but... could it have only been 2 nights ago? Much has happened... his traps had failed... the smaller ones seen, and the larger ones avoided as if by some magical intervention... He now knows why his piece wasn't the same as the others, larger... flatter... a darker aura about it... but now they knew... now they knew he did have a reason to be here, something he did not want them to find out... who was this Dios? how powerful could he make Rubicant? All these questions flowed through his head as he walked aimlessly, until he looked up and saw a building that seemed to appear from no where. Great columns held up a doorway into the structure which looked pristine in comparison to it's surrounding delapitated town. 'How did i end up here?' Rubicant wonders. He pulls the treasure from his pouch and places it around his neck... 'No need in hiding this any longer...' He walks foreward toward what he believes to be the temple Naoko was refering to. 'I wonder how i get in?' Rubicant walks into the dark hall, he holds up his hands and flame appears from them, and are immediatly extinguished. 'What happened?' Rubicant tries the simple creation of light again, and again it failes. He looks about him finding nothing in the darkness. He reaches for his amulet and grips it lightly, which causes a dim violet light to radiate from him. He squeezes on the jewelry and enough light permeates the room to get him around some. He walks foreward and almost into a statue. Looking up he sees a giant likeness, details undistinguishable in the light. 'Maybe that Phey would have better luck looking around in here...' Looking down and holding his amulet out he sees an ingraving on the base of the statue. 'The Master of the Elements, Dios. I send forth my guardians to watch over the demons of Morcadia, gate of Hell.' hmph...*
hmph, this guy is repititious.

*Rubicant jumps back hearing the sudden voice.*
Where are you! Who are you!
The Master of the Elements, Dios. I send forth my....
I get it i get it! shut up already! How dare you refer to me as a fledgeling!
Your a child in my eyes. But... you have what it takes, so i have chosen you...
Chosen me for what!
To bear the title, Master of the Elements. You will protect the gate of Hell and lead the five elements into battle.
Why would i do that! I'm supposed to kill these... other elements...
Then why have you not done so already?
I... I was just... waiting for the right time...
Look within yourself Rubicant, you know if you had wanted them dead you would've been more than enough after they killed that Behemoth. You never would have traveled with them, or took them on routes away from your traps...
But... I was ordered...
You killed your superior, your orders do not stand... you are one of them now...
...
Take your time... Think... meditate... then return to them and tell them the truth.
*Rubicant walks out of the temple in utter turmoil. He runs as fast as he can to the edge of the city.*
No... I... I can't leave... but i can't...
*Rubicant falls to his knees and begins to wretch... droplets of black fire fall from his eyes as he sobs, after a short time he passes out.*

A brush of wind sweeps through the room, causing Naoko to snap her eyes open.
What was that?
My child, you should have not come here....
She knew that voice. It had been with her ever since Melbane's destruction. Mother...
Baikasu says, in a calm, quiet voice, "I just came in here to report things being way too quiet, even for a long destroyed city. I'm going to look around the ruins. Anyone wanna come?"
Phey: "i'll come with you."
*she a feeling that something wasn't right... someone's missing. thoguh she didn't want to leave the saftey of the others , she just had to find the root of this cold feeling. just then her amulet suddenly got a lot warmer.*
"he's fallen... where is master?"
Phey: "what?"
"find him.... now"
Daewyn got up from where she was sitting and, strapping on her blades, she walked up to Phey.
"Phey, did you hear a voice just now? Is that where you're going, to find him? I want to come with you and Baikasu." She grinned, happy to finally be doing something. "I'm getting bored anyway!"
"Hmmm. Rubicant's missing, we hear a strange voice talking about someone falling and their master... Sumething doesn't seem right. All right let's go. We should definatly look for him." Baikasu puts his amulet around his neck, but under his shirt so that it can't be seen, then startts walking.
"find dios... find him ... NOW!"
*the amulet gets hotter*
Phey: "yeah lets go... i think we better hurry, i've never heard my amulet so upset."
"We must find him! If we lose him..."
"Yeah, mine too. Let's hurry and find them. You two, look for Rubicant. I'll go alert Shao and Naoko. We'll meet up with you as soon as possible. Here."He takes out a small bottle from his jacket and gives it to Phey."This is in case he's wounded. Allright, let's move out!" He then starts running to the house.

Daewyn follows Phey into the night, slightly afriad of the ghosts but not willing to admit that to anyone. They come to a crossroads and stop. Suddenly Daewyn hears the voice from her amulet, more insistant than ever.
That way! He's over there....
The stone emits heat like a desert stone. It glows brighter than before. "This way Phey!" She takes off down the path to the left, watching the surrounding area carefully.
Naoko doesn't bother to join the others. They have yet to notice that she has disappeared into her void, eyes glowing an unusual red. She seems not herself, her eyes distant and empty.
A sinister chuckle rumbles from her own voice. The eyes slowly turn a dark amber.
The fools, they'll never know what hits them.
Shao hears what Baikasu and the others are up to.
"If the other two are going to fin Rubicant, then I think it's best if someone else comes along with you too. So I'll go. I'm sure Naoko will be fine here because she's more familiar with the town....right Naoko?....Naoko...?
Hmm...ok then, let's go."
Baikasu says, "She's not here? That's not right. She knows better than to wander from the group." He takes out his amulet and says to it, "Any idea as to Dios' location?"
"We only know that Dios is in the nearby. Within 100 yards from here. Maybe in the Void. We do not know for sure. He's too hard to track here."
"Damn! Well, Do you know where Naoko is?"
"The only way for Dios to enter the void is to either possess the person who weilds it, or to enter while they're already inside it. She's probably there. Dios might be there, also."
"Thanks. Shao, Look around the area in case my amulets wrong. I'll see if I can get into the Void." Baikasu then looks around in the house.

Naoko bangs against her walls, growling in anger. "Dante, why are you doing this?!?"
Her brother's form appears before her, the eyes still glowing with his element of the sky and lightning. He smiles cruelly back at her.
"You know, sister, that getting caught off guard is a really bad thing, you know?" he calmly replies. "Having your thoughts be swayed by our town's destruction....what if one of the townspeople were able to possess you?"
"I would rather have someone else other than YOU," Naoko growled back. "Why are you doing this?"
"To get rid of those foolish mortals, what else?" he simply said. "Such a pity since all of them seem to possess some great power weilded by their amulets. And...you're the perfect person to use, especially since nobody can withstand the power of the Void for long."
"I won't let you do that..." Naoko said. "You have no idea what you're going to create!"
"Oh, I don't? Then why is it that the scriptures on the temple say that more than just the amulets solve the puzzle?"
Naoko didn't have an answer. She looked away from him, thinking of something to cast.
"You're going to destroy the entire world if you destroy them..." she whispers.
"So what? Those pathetic beings destroyed our town even when we had nothing against them with the exception of being just who we were!" Dante pointed out in outrage. He flinches a little bit for no apparent reason, but he recovers, smiling and tapping his head.
"Aa-a-ah, that won't work again, my dear little sister," he said. "Enough talking to you. You've always been stubborn."
He disappears in the void, still controlling her body. Naoko slumps to the ground, clasping the amulet her mother had given her, forgiving herself for letting things to come this way...

As Baikasu goes from room to room in the damaged house, he notices things getting darker the more he moves towards the back of the house. He then decides to follow the darkness, in hopes of finding Naoko, or at least the Void. He then comes upon the room farthest back in the house, and looks into the room. Total darkness. He then asks his amulet, "Think this is where Naoko is?"
"Yes. She must be here. Though something isn't right about it. You must go into it."
"Shao! Come quickly! I think I found Naoko! Go towards the back room!" He yells, as he keeps his back to the wall, making sure he isn't attacked. Then, as he gets readdy to go in, he says to his amulet, as well as himself, "I hope you know what you're doing." Then slowly walks in, gun in hand.
*phey follows closely behind Daewyn, all the while, phey's amulet gets hotter almost to the point of burning.*
Phey: "i hope you know where you're going"
*they continue on down the path, glowing eyes of the souls watching them. *
"Dios is close... closer..."
*they turn a corner and Phey spots a body laying on the road a ways away*
Phey: "that must be Rubicant!"
*something didn't feel right*
"closer closer closer....!!"
Naoko...
Naoko's head raises. "...Mother?"
Take care of him...
She looks around her in the void, not knowing what was going on nor where the voice was coming from. "Who? Take care of who? Who are you?"
I need to break free from here... another voice, her own thoughts replies.
Naoko again looks around in confusion. You are now Mistress of the Void...you must take care of him, the traitor...
"What are you talking about?" Naoko whispers.

Dante, using his sister's form, awaits for the pathetic beings to come. Their kind was responsible for destroying Melbane, and now it was his time to react.
"Come, come, you little pests," he mutters eagerly, his (or rather the false Naoko's) eyes glow a dark amber, using the Void for cover until just about the right time...
Daewyn saw Rubican't lying on the ground. She ran up to him and gently shook him. "Rubicant! Rubicant, wake up!!" she begged him. She cried a little. Everyone around her seemed to die. "Phey, he isn't getting up! What's wrong with him?"

*phey pulls out the bottle that baikasu gave in case this might happen and she give it to Rubicant, but nothing happens right away.* Phey: "don't worry, he's just unconsious... i hope. rubicant? Rubicant!!"
*she feels tears starting to swell in her eyes as well, but tries to hold them back in front of Daewyn. the amulet in her pocket cools down rapidly.*
Phey: "we better get him out of the open... do you think you can help me carry him?"
*phey swings one of rubicant's arm over her shoulder, all the while aware of souls watching the three*
Daewyn puts Rubicant's other arm around her shoulders and together they manage to get him out of the building. Daewyn sees the souls too, but is too worried about Rubicant to bother worrying about them. When the get him outside Rubicant starts to revive. He looks at them with a strange expression on his face.
Shao, on one of the roofs, hears Baikasu's voice calling him and he quickly goes to it. He just sees Baikasu entering the void with his gun drawn, and Shao quickly takes out his throwing knives and tags behind Baikasu...
...it's dark...very dark...
The only light Shao is able to see is the two distinct glows coming from the two amulets. The walk for a little while until they see a glowing figure. They see a silouette...
"Naoko..." Shao whispered. He lowers his weapon and the two of them approach her slowly...
Naoko...
Naoko again lifts her head, hearing Shao's voice. She looks around her until she sees two shadows from a distance. She also sees that her brother is patiently waiting in the Void just above them...waiting to strike.
"No.." she whispers, banging against the wall of her prison. "Stop it! It's a trap!!"
Of course, they could not hear her and continue to approach the dark form of her false form. She hears Dante cackle in the darkness, whispering the words of their tongue.
"Go on...just a little bit more..." she hears him say. "Let our powers destroy you..."
Naoko once again bangs against the walls, searching for something to break it. Her hand instantly went to the hilt of her katana, which, oddly enough, hummed at its master's call.

*Rubicant looks at the two and pillars of fire fill his eyes. He jumps up and looks down at the two and begins to storm off toward where they were all resting. He stops, looks about and shudders, breaking out into a sprint back toward Naoko.*
Daewyn looked at Phey baffled. "What was that all about? Do you think we should follow him?"
She looked off in the direction he headed. "He looked concerned. I wonder what's going on."
Shao is within arm's reach of Naoko now. Her back is turned. Shao extends his arm out to touch her...but wait...something is telling him that something is wrong. As his hand approaches closer to Naoko, his chest starts to burn hotter and hotter. He finally realized what it was and he pulls back his arm right before he touches Naoko. He quickly pulls out the amulet he had around his chest and looks at it. It's brighter than ever! The blue light illuminates the whole surrounding...it's almost blinding. Baikasu takes out his and the two lights shine towards a seemingly endless sea of darkness. Naoko shows no sign of movement.
"Something's wrong" Shao said to Baikasu, "the amulet seems to be telling me not to approach Naoko."
Not knowing what to expect, he moves farther away from Naoko and takes out his thworing knives. He cannot determine which direction they came from, so they have no way of getting out. They had no choice but to find out what is going on with Naoko.
Shao and Baikasu run to either side of Naoko, with their weapons drawn, and wait...
"Come on, amulet, help me through this one...give me some sort of sign..."
A chuckle echoes in the Void; a deep, rumbling one that sounded unusual to be coming out of Naoko.
The False Naoko turns around, her eyes glowing a dark amber, whispering, "You're too late."
Lightning, melded within the powers of the Void, came up from underneath Shao and Baikasu. The false Naoko laughed sinisterly at their pain.

"NO!"
Within her own prison, she feels the cries of her companions. In anger, Naoko slices the wall with her katana to no avail. She punches the wall again in frustration as its cuts healed.
"Dammit..." she cursed to herself.
You can still save them... her mother's voice echoed in her mind.
Naoko lifts her head. "...how?"
The amulet...use me...
Naoko takes out her mother's amulet, a family heirloom, and it glows brightly within her own prison. The amulet's glow then swirls around her, and she is encircled by the light....

After their horrible attack, Shao and Baikasu begin to search for the false Naoko who is seemingly enjoying playing the game of cat and mouse.
"You think you can find me so easily? Pathetic fools," she says in the darkness. Baikasu shoots his gun in the direction of her voice, but the false Naoko has already cloaked herself within the Void and her head reappears behind Shao.
"It's useless, even with the amulets," she adds. Shao throws the knives behind him, but once again the false Naoko eludes attack.
Another voice, however, echoes in the Void. I am the Mistress of the Void. I call upon the darkness upon my will. Those who hide within darkness shall seek light, and those in light will fall to darkness...
The false Naoko appears again out of nowhere as if she was ousted by the Void around her. "What? Impossible!"

*phey scratches her head and looks at Daewyn*
Phey: "i guess we should follow him, it's better than staying here... it looks like he's heading back to the others anyway..... i think something's wrong..."
*phey can feel her amulet getting hotter again*
Phey: "let's go"
*daewyn and phey run after rubicant. they soon get to the spot where they were camped and lose track of rubicant...*
Phey: "where'd he go? ...say... where'd anyone go?."
Daewyn looks over at Phey. "Do you think they might be in that void thingy that Naoko does? There's no trace of them here."
After hearing the voice, he suddenly sees the false Naoko.
In a matter of seconds, hundreds of bullets and knives fly in the direction of the imposter. Several manage to hit him.
"Yes!" Baikasu shouts
But the imposter seems unharmed...and he seems to be attacking now. Several dark spheres as big as a human head fly towards Shao and Baikasu. Without the shine of the amulets, they would have never been able to see these spheres. One skims Shao just barely on the arm and his clothes started to pull towards the spheres like a vacuum.
Shao thinks, 'They are not hard to dodge, but I do NOT want to know what will happen if I get hit directly by those. At any rate, we can't go on like this...'
Then Shao hears a voice
"Use me..."
"WHAT?" Shao yells.
"You will only stand a chance if you use me..."
Shao grabs his amulet out. He looks over at Baikasu and he seems to be taking his amulet out also...
"Now what do I do??" Baikasu shouts.
"I don't know either!" Shao answers.
Baikasu shouts, "I've got an Idea!" He then closes his eyes, then starrts to try and focus his energy into his gun and ammo.
Yes, that's it. Keep focusing... there! Use your gun now!
He then opens his eyes, lightning streaking through them as if he were possessed by pure energy, staring at his target. He aims, and empties the entire clip at his foe.

*Rubicant, after losing Phey and Daewyn, runs behind a building. His eyes glow a bright red and his amulet begins to shimmer in the night. He raises his arms and a violet circle of flames appears at his feet, it rises around him, swirling, flickering and gaining in intensity. He begins to yell into the night, a long, monotone guteral yell. Filled with all the anger from his past and all the frustration from his life, the fire spreads and spreads, a huge wave of heat and energy growing outward, as it weakens on the outer most sides, it begins to roll into his self, to push inward at a central point, a point right in front of Rubicant. He pulls his arms from his sides to his front and the ball of violet energy heads directly toward the grouping of Dante, Naoko, Shao and Baikasu. As it impacts near them, a bright red light fills the night sky, rubble flies and disentigrats and Rubicant falls down, passed out once more.*
The tremendous lightning surrounds Shao and Baikasu. Baikasu continues to shoot bullets of lightning, but they run out of electricity before they hit the false Naoko.
The false Naoko smirks, "The lightning is quite strong, but you don't have enough power yet to hit me from that distance. As long as I stay far enough, you will not hit me."
Shao sees what Baikasu did, and he tries...
...concentrate....concentrate...
Shao feels a surge of power within him. He feels very light.
He quickly starts throwing knives at the false Naoko. It hits him but the knife instantly breaks and turns into water.
"HAHAHA" cries the false Naoko, "You are far from mastering the skills of the elements. You will die now!!"
The black spheres grow in size and numbers. Shao and Baikasu keeps dodging.
'Think, Shao, think....what can we use? What do we have to start with?...the amulets....the...elements...'
Shao turns his head to Baikasu, and he smiles and nods. He seems to know what I'm thinking. Shao nods back and he continues attacking. Now Baisaku holds his fire and just dodges. Shao throws all the weapons he had, all turning into water.
"Still not giving up?" says the false Naoko. "Your friend has already accepted defeat."
Shao smiles.
"NOW!"
Shao and Baikasu both jump up in the air. Baikasu finally shoots again, but not at the false Naoko. The lightning bullet screams towards the ground
"Where are you shooting at, boy?" says the false Naoko amuzingly.
Then he looks down. The ground is filled with nearly a centermetre of water, from Shao's throwing knives.
"WHAT??"
The bullet hits the ground and shocks the false Naoko. He falls to the ground.
Baikasu reloads his gun, -with normal bullets this time-, walks over to the intruder[out of reach, though.], points his gun at him/her and says, "You move, you die. Now... WHERE THE HELL IS NAOKO?!!! I Suggest you cooperate, before I scratch this itchy trigger finger at you!" Then says to Shao, "You go look for some backup. Don't be surprized if you hear gunshots, Shao. We don't know what s/he's capable capable of."
Phey: "i think you're right........ wha?"
*Phey looks as Daewyn's hair starts to stand on end from the sudden rise in static electricity and couldn't help but smile out of the corner of her mouth*
Phey: "that's wierd..."
*from behind daewyn a streak of electricity passed over an old house.*
Phey: "they're in there!! I know it! "
*phey grabbed daewyn's hand and started running to the house, she pulled out her gun right before turning the corner in through the doorway.*

"I don't feel safe leaving you alone with him," says Shao.
"I can handle him," replies Baikasu, "I have him covered...now go!"
"....."
"c'mon! We need the help!"
"Okay!" says Shao and quickly starts running.
...then he stops.
'What the hell,' he thought, 'I can't even see where I'm going...'
Just then a thin blue beam of light shines to the northeast direction to where Shao was standing. He quickly follows the beam. Not long after he sees the exit. He runs as fast as he can and reaches the door.
BUMP!
"Oww..." says Phey, rubbing her head.
"Phey! Daewyn!" Shao says excitedly. "...oh sorry about that.. Quicly! Follow me! I'll explain what's happened along the way."
It was completely dark again, and Shao tries to calm down to rememeber where they were.
'129 steps north, 84 northeast, 284.....'
When they finally go to the place Baisaku was...there was nothing. The puddles of water remained, but the false Naoko and Baikasu were nowhere to be found....
Daewyn looked around. "What are we doing here Shao? All I see is water...wait a sec, what's that light over there?" She points to the horizon where a small light can barely be seen.
"what's going on Shao? where's Baikasu, Naoko, and Rubicant?"
"let me out... i can't see.."
*phey takes the amulet out of her pocket without looking down, still trying to keep sight of the two. it was warm and as she held it in her hand right side up, it started to glow slightly and sudden burst into flames. Phey jerked her head away and held the flaming amulet away from her, but she quickly realized that it wasn't burning her. she blinked a couple of times, amazed at this. the light from the flame illuminated about 5 yards in diameter around the three.*
"w... wow. at least we can sort of see now..." sweatdrop
Repeat these words, and you can be free of this...
"I am the Mistress of the Void. I call upon the darkness upon my will. Those who hide within darkness shall seek light, and those in light will fall to darkness..." Naoko whispers, letting the amulet's power surround her. "The power of the Void flows within me, and only those within the Void can destroy me."
She can still hear Baikasu struggling with the false Naoko. Her eyes slowly open, glowing a crimson red. "No answer to light or darkness, no question to life or death. That is what the Void is, and always will be."
Her mother's ghost encircles Naoko and she is engulfed by a white light. The light bursts through the prison and through the Void, causing the false Naoko and Baikasu to stop for the moment.
The false Naoko's eyes widen with fear. "No...that's impossible!"
In the body of Naoko, her mother's eyes stare back, red eyes that open in the Void. I'm not that easy to beat..., she replies.

Baikasu takes this cease-fire as an advantage and punchs the startled imposter in the gut, knocks a foot out from under him, gets up, points his gun at him, and says, "Before was just with tranculizers. Armor-piercing isn't so forgiving!" He backs away from him, then asks Naoko, while still facing his foe, "There you are! You okay? What did this b*****d do, anyway?"
Ignoring Baikasu's questions, Naoko's eyes once again glow a crimson red, letting the Void envelope the false Naoko. The false Naoko screams in agony before it shatters into pieces like glass.
She then turns to Baikasu. You mean my daughter? She's fine, for now.
Baikasu is taken aback. Something about Naoko's aura isn't right...it was as if she had never existed. Not to mention, that the voice he kept hearing was in his head...

Dante's crystal globe shatters in the darkness. His amber eyes glow in anger. Damn her....[/I]
Daewyn glanced over at Phey when she pulled out her amulet, then looked back ahead to where she had seen that light. Now she saw a group of people. She couldn't recognize the figures, except for one who looked back at her with bright red eyes.
"It's Naoko!" she cried to Phey. "Let's go!"
Without another word she took off running toward the figure in front of her.
"Hey!"
*Daewyn didn't hear Phey shout to her, her footsteps could be heard splashing as she ran toward Naoko. Phey looked at the other figure and recognized it as Baikasu, but someone was missing. Phey turned to Shao*
"Shao, what happened? .....and why isn't Rubicant in here?"
Rubicant? Here? I don't know...I thought you guys were out to look for him.
