"Applications? Yeah actually. I'm pretty sure that most of the little ones will find new homes soon enough. I sure hope so. Hm...?" He looked down at Aph, frowning slightly. Awww... Poor little cutie... She must be bored... "Um... Have any of her friends showed up yet? I think she really wants to go play..." He looked around at all the people that were now in the room wondering which ones Cath and Aph knew better.

The news of the appilications were going well made her happy, that was good news for her and the chance that Aphrodite might be having a baby brother and sister soon... but then her concerns soon fell back onto her baby. "Salem.. I was thinking.. of animated Alphonse for Aphrodite" Her voice was just above a whisper. "Like.. a gaurdian to protect her." She said, but she seemed a be wary of the idea. She blinked looking up her train of thought broken by the new arrivals.. "Kii!" She squeeled waving her over. "Oh my god Shavi! You got.. big!"
"Shavi?" She blinked crawling away from her mother's hand and staring at the now larger mishap. Her almond shaped yellow eyes grew wide. "Shavi!" She squeeled, the flipfloppy feeling in her tummy to her that it had to be shavi! ... But why did she look so different?
She turned around to look at Rabid and then at Malachi. She blinked a bit and smiled at them giving a wave. "Are you behaving Ike?" She asked her voice a bit sing song.

"Um... Isn't how half these little guys... Um... Ya know...? I don't know if you should risk it. It seems the screw up rate for it is high. Maybe you could get her a pet or something? I'm sure she'd like something active, like a dog, but I don't know how Uncle Bax would react to that... A Cat wouldn't be a good idea either... Maybe a rodent? Like a rat? I've heard rat's make great pets! Oh... But they don't live so long... Never mind... It would probably die right when she got really attached to it... Um... Maybe a ferret? Those are kinda stinky though... Um... Maybe a rabbit?" He was obviously trying real hard to come up with a good idea, but very small children didn't do well with pets usually. He didn't know if Cath would agree with him or not on that issue. "Huh?" Now his attention was back on the people in the room, trying to pin names to faces.

Her expression hardened as her glance turned back to Salem. "Are you saying that I'm incapable of doing the spell?" She frowned at him, she knew how all the mishaps were created. " ..and if I do screw up then I'll take responsibility, for everthing." She said with a sigh smiling down at Aphrodite. "And besides, I think the rabbit might scare her." She moved Aphrodite away from the edge of the table.

"I... I... I..." He blushed, looking away and biting his lower lip. He hadn't ment it quite like that... He'd just ment she should be careful is all... He didn't see how a rabbit would scare little Aph when she lived with a crabby cat, but he didn't comment on that either... He remained scilent, not knowing what else to say.

Her glasses slipped down the bridge of her nose, glancing up at him she bit her lip hard. "I'm.. sorry Salem.. I didn't mean to be so cold." She frowned a bit, strokign the top of Aphrodite's head gently. "I .. guess I'm so used to my sissy and my family looking down at my abilites.. I just felt a bit defensive." She moved her hand towards his. "Can you forgive me for being so rude?"
Aphrodite blinked looking up at her mommy. She knew that look it was Catherine 'I'm serious' look. The tension nearly made her stomahce tumble, frowning she did hear a rumbling. "Mama..." She pushed her hand with all her strength to get her attention. "Mama.. ai hungee."

"I didn't mean it like that... I'm sorry... It's just... I've seen so many little babies and children that... How do you tell a child that they are a mistake? How do you tell them that they were an accident and weren't supposed to happen...? I know you would take care of it if that happened, but... I dunno... Look, I'm sorry..." He took her hands and gently kissed them, looking into her eyes. "I... I don't doubt your ability at all, but even the best of us make mistakes. Heh... Just take a look at me!" He laughed softly, pointing out some of his more noticably scars.

Her face became a distint shade of red, her eyes wide and her glasses askewed. " umm.. I ... I ..I...I.. I see." She stuttered, calming herself down taking a breath. "... and I plan on telling Aphrodite when she's old enough to understand."
"Mama!" She pushed again. "Hungee" She hated the feeling of a rumbly tumbly.
"Ah!" she exclaimed for a moment, the cloud that lifted her far far away disipated beneath her bringign her back down to Gaia. She dug through her bag taking out a jar of baby food and the most oddest spoon ever conceieved in existance. The handle was of average size but as it progressed down to the end it was a more appropriate size for the littlest mishap. Cracking the jar open, the sweet smells of apples and pears filled the small area and thus she began feeding Aphrodite. "Thank you Salem, I know you meant for the best and I thank you." With her other hand she moved Alphonse so that Aphrodite was sitting comfortably in his lap like a large grey high chair.

"Glad you understand..." He couldn't help the soft laugh that bubbled out of him as he looked down at the tiny hungry baby. He smiled as he watched Aphrodite get fed. He loved to watch little acts of affection like this. It reasured him that there were good parents out there in the world and not just bad parents as the ones of many of the little ones he had to take care of.

Aphrodite kept her eyes closed and her mouth open happily eating every bite given to her. Leaning back into her beloved friend, she smiled happy that her hunger was going away.
"Such a good girl, Aphrodite!" She cooed givng her another mouthful. Catherine had become more careful in the act of feeding the little wasp mishap."Salem, you're birthday's not to far away now is it? .. What do you want to do?" She asked smiling, taking out a napkin from her pack and gently tucking it into Aphrodite's shirt.

"Huh? For my birthday? Oh yeah! Heh... I didn't really have anything planned. Leave it to me to be the odd ball that had to be born on Halloween, eh? Usually I just spend it back at the Home taking care of all the kids and making sure they all have fun. I mean we do have a little cake for my... Um... Let me rephrase that... We have a huge cake for my birthday... I only eat a little of it mind you, but I got a lot of little ones to help me finish it. Usually there's none left by the end of the night! Anyway, I really hadn't planned on doing anything different this year. Did you have something in mind?"
He cocked his head to the side curiously. He hadn't really thought about his birthday as of late. He had been too busy with the latest batch of adoptions he was handling. On top of that he had another four to put up for adoption for Halloween so things grew even more complicated! He hadn't a clue as to what to do this year aside from scrambling to get all the paperwork and interviews done to get those little cuties good loving families.

As a tiny burp left Aphrodit'e mouth, she then lifted the napkin to her face and wiped her face in a flurry and wiggle. " No mo'" She said as she tried to pull the napkin out of her shirt.
Catherine pulled the napkin out of her shirt gently, then wrapping the spoon in it. "Well.. I was thinking something a bit special for your birthday Salem... I can ask Baxterfullous to watch Aphrodite, this party's going to last all the way until halloween. " She closed the jar and then pointed out all the ghosts and goblins that were dancing about. ".. He's actually really good with her, who knew he had any fatherly instints about him. " She shrugged, pulling out the first costume on the list of many for Aphrodite. A little black cat jumpsuit, with an open back and a hole for her wasp butt.
She wriggled and squirmed as she was fitting into the costume it was closer to a overall with long sleeves. Finally in, catherine painted little whiskers on her face. "Kitty!" She squeeled looking at herself hugging her own "tail". she flew back over to Alphonse to show off her new outfit.

"Something 'special'?" he asked, a little confused. "What did you have in mind?" He smiled widely at little Aph's costume. If that wasn't the most precious thing he'd ever seen! "Aphrodite! Well, aren't you the prettiest little kitty in the world?! Trust me, I should know." He smirked playfully, giving the little wasp-baby a wink. "Keep this up and your Mommy's going to have to beat off the boys with a bat!" He had a feeling that statment was going to go right over the little one's head, but that was okay...

"Then I could drag you over to my house! We could even shove the little ones on my brother so they wouldn't be tramatized."
Reid followed suit, grinning when the taste of the batter on the ladel turned out to be the same as when he'd licked it off his finger.
"Bah?" he asked, licking at his ladel a bit and blinking at Ike.

Aphrodite blinked up at him a little confused and tumbled off Alphonse and onto the table. "Oof!" She said as she landed on her tiny little behind.
" I hope I don't have to do that anytime soon." She said laughing lightly. " But for your birthday, it would first; Be a surprise, and second; requiring a babysitter. Duke can take over for one day can't he?"
