Peter wrinkled his nose, now confident that Flannery was just trying to scare them, although he was aware of the fact that someone could try to eat him if they so chose. He had heard his share of Easter-Bunny-stew jokes, after all. He smiled at Shula. "I will not let myself be worried about it. As you said, we are namrah as well, and probably not edible anyway." He nodded at Thumper as he spoke. "We both have families who will help look out for us."

No longer having fun bothering the bunny boys, Flannery turned back to her magazine. Shula and Thumper nodded at Peter's family comment. "Family is a powerful thing!" Thumper said, "Like Blake! He gave up bunny when he moved here, because he didn't want to freak me out!" Thumper always felt proud about that, as if he had accomplished something.

Smiling at Thumper, Peter found himself nonetheless wondering about his own 'family'. He had a group like this one where the older namrah looked out for the younger, but he saw several of them that had actual blood relations, and he couldn't help but wonder if he might have had any brothers or sisters at some point. His musings were banished at Thumper's words, and his smile became a little uneasy. "I am pleased to hear that; it must have meant a lot to this Blake that you feel at ease around him."

Thumper laughed, "Well back then it was just three of us in the cave. It's hard to live with someone you'd think of eating. So I think he did it more for himself." He shrugged, "It doesn't matter though. The fact is that we all make sacrificals." "Sacrifices," Flannery corrected. "Right!" "All but that new guy, Sarosh. I wish he'd sacrifice that damn Accordion of his..." Flannery snorted, twitching an ear, "I can still hear him playing that obnoxious instrument."

'Well it was very nice of him just the same." Peter chuckled, having had a little familiarity with the sounds of an accordion. "Perhaps you could convince him to try a different instrument? Or you could teach him to sing; our family has a namir who sings quite beautifully." His ears twitched as he thought he heard tiny strains of the instrument; to him, any instrument sounded beautiful as long as the notes were pure.

"Sarosh has always played the ac...acco...accio...the squeeze box." he nodded, "And he says he can't sing well." "No," Shula piped, "He says he can't think of words. That he wishes someone else could help him with that..." Thumper nodded more, glad to have the help of his friends when remembering things. "One of these days I'm going to steal that thing and get myself some peace and quiet." Flannery grunted.

"Ah, he needs a composer." Peter nodded knowledgeably. "That takes a great deal of talent and creativity. Perhaps with the right songs to play, his instrument will not sound so painful to you. You should help him to find a composer. Everyone who has a talent deserves the chance to let it flower." His happened to be painting eggs, and it seemed even more special that he had an entire year each time to plan the designs.

Flannery ignored this, not having anything to say and not wanting to acknowledge that Peter was right. Thumper listened, one of Peter's words being rather unfamiliar. "What's a Compost?" Thumper asked. "A Composer," Shula corrected. "Right! What's a Composter?"

"Well...." Peter said slowly as he sought to explain it throughly. "When you compose something, it means you make something up, like a song or a poem or a story. Many singers have composers who write their songs andwords to the song, and the singer sings it. So it is much like a team. Of course, with humans it is much more complicated than that, but with us, that is all that we need." ^^

"Oh!" Thumper said, finally understanding. Unfortunately, there was no one currently in the cave who could do such a thing. Everyone seemed to keep to themselves, keeping to their own thing. That, and non of the other namrah seemed to dabble much in music. "Well Kiki is always getting new namrah. Maybe we'll get a Composter soon!" He paused then an dtried to think of his own talent. What was he talented in? He began to thump on the ground absentmindedly as he thought. "Thumper! You're doing it again!" Flannery yelled, despising the loud sound of Thumper's feet against the ground. The little rabbit perked his ears. "Oh! Sorry Flanny...I was just thinking..."

Actually both amused and interested at Thumper's absentminded thumping, Peter smiled and tried tapping his own foot, but his small, soft paw didn't make the hard, true sound his friend's paw made. "You know, if you could do that in a regular rhythm, you could help your singing friend keep time. You might even be able to invent new rhythms for him; that is somewhat of a composer. " ^^

Thumper looked at Peter and cocked his head. "Really?" he asked. He'd always been talented at thumping, but it always seemed to just go on it's own. He had never thought about controlling it to go at certain speeds or rhythms.

Peter nodded his head enthusiastically. "Why certainly. How about you think of a song, and then try to tap it out with your foot? I imagine it will come to you quite naturally."

Thumper tried hard to think of a song, his foot absentmindedly tapping out 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. He then looked down, his brain finally connecting with his foot and smiled. "Neat!"

Peter beamed and drummed his paws on the ground encouragingly. "See; not so hard, is it? With practice, you should be able to do more complex rhythms, or ones that go much faster. You ought to find this Sarosh and see what songs he likes to play; that way you can practice beating out the rhythms to them."
