Eva snarled as she was thrust into the empty wine barrel. For a couple of minutes, she waited, crouched down and unsmiling. When she heard the footsteps of the soldiers fade away, she whipped the blanket off of the wine barrel and stepped out. Glancing at him with narrowed eyes, she wasn't sure what to say. Half of her wanted to respond with "why didn't you let me handle those guys?" while the other half wanted to say thank you.
She responded by turning her head and saying, "Thank you, but I could have handled that on my own."
She was slightly embarrassed, seeing as this old man had completely taken dominating control over a common situation, almost as if he was saying that she couldn't handle it.
"So," she said, turning and placing her hand on top of the barrel, "you're a magic user eh? You sure that spell makes them forget?" she asked, finally meeting his eyes again. She didn't bother to pull up her hood again, and simply through her entire cloak off and onto the edge of the ship.
She could now be completely seen. Her ebony hair fell down to her waist and it was topped with a red bandana, tied behind her hair.

"Kill them, be charged with the federal offense for murder of an imperial officer, rot in jail living off scraps, then die in your sleep of the deathly chill at best." Kaspin said pointing out where she was plainly wrong. "Yes, yes, Magic or whatever the modern youth call it today I am a whatever you said... I just say the words, throw some gesture at them, and react to whatever the spell inflicts on them." Kaspin rested his head in the sunlight and let the rest of his body under the shadow of the barrel. "Im going to sleep a bit, the nicest thing you could do is at least give an old man some pity and wait for him. But can I expect that from a free bird like yourself?" Kaspin chuckled to himself.

Arya walked slowly through the street in his sweeping robe just barely touching the stone pave road of third dock, on the eastern end of Tesa. He strummed a freshly tuned lute willfully through the street. "Well so far we have gained so much information as how it spreads and what the estimated death count is, we have a few symptoms, but no source." Arya recapped looking at Morilineth with a wry smile and youthful eyes. He stopped his lute playing saw a familiar figure on a shipment boat. "Was that the women we talked with previously. Arya started his way over, blending with the crowd and pushing several people aside, he got closer and knew it was the same face. He also saw an older figure. "Something about that man startles me..."

Eva rolled her eyes at the man's moral explanations, refraining from adding "but that's when you run for it and shoot the fools!" sarcastically. As soon as she looked back over, he was asleep peacefully, leaning against the side of the large barrel. She wondered exactly how safe they were...
Eva wandered a few paces toward the stern of the boat. She peered off of it into the endless sky that stretched below them. In the distance, she could see the floating island of Sceptra.

Peering around, she realized that she had made a complete 360 and was facing the island again. But it didn't look quite the same; it wasn't deserted.
The strange man that she spoke with earlier was on the horizon, coming her way.
She wasn't quite sure what to do. She could wake up the old man, but she wasn't sure that they were in any danger. She compromised her conscience by whispering.
"Pssst...!" she said to the old man. "Someone's coming. And I think I've seen him before..."

Arya stopped when she saw him. He kept a straight face. Arya kept moving, slower this time. Arya's hand strayed from his side under one of his layers of robe. He stopped a decently safe distance away. "Hello again..." Arya began to feel suspicious of this women, she was on a cluttered boat in a deserted area. He took a step forward. And began to silently slide out something from his pocket. His expression darkened. "Who exactly are you?" Arya interrogated.

Kaspin opened one eye. He slid quietly behind the overturned barrel and looked at Arya with a smile. He waited, hand on his cane. If she was desperate enough to run then he would have to break one of his principles, but it would have to do. He just hoped he would answer the man's questions.

"Please, not so fast!" Morilneth yelled from several paces behind. When he finally caught up, he looked at Kaspin and said "Hello sir. Is this woman with you?" He cocked his head to the side and raised one eyebrow to appear as if he were simply asking a question of no importance. However, he would never let anyone know that, and spoke in a tone that seemed weak, just like one would expect from a 63 year old. But disguises had always helped him, and he had never truly been behind Arya. He faked it.

Eva raised an eyebrow as the man from earlier strided toward her.
"And what would you like to know this time?" she asked skeptically. She was beginning to doubt that he was just a curious outlander. She was able to weave her way out of the situation without a fight last time. She simply slipped away with the excuse that she had to get back to work. A valid excuse anywhere. But she probably wouldn't be so lucky this time.
Eva watched as a familiar looking man hobbled out from behind this man.

Arya looked behind him at his friend. Then he fixed his gaze back on Eva. "You are Lebrithian that much I know, but what I fail to understand is why you are here in this port which is empty of people except us three and possibly the patrolling guards." Arya began. "So who are you, I ask again." he demanded. Though not one to assault someone usually like this, Arya had to keep his reputation to the people on the good side. He naturally felt that the people deserved to have their minds spoken for, but to be able to speek for him he would need their good feeling of him. So if any who knew it was him were watching, he would be able to protect his position.

((sorry >.< ))

"Yes, I am a Liberethian. I do sense your annoyance, and I think I might want to ask who you are next. So, I will tell you. My name is Eva, to start with," she said, straightening up a bit and looking him in the eye. "I own a ship that's somewhere around here, which also serves as my living quarters." Her sub-conscience told her that it would be best not to reveal the location of her ship at all. "I recently learned about the epidemic from a shopkeeper in Sceptra. That's pretty much it," she said, and looking up she added, "Now it's your turn."

"Very well." Arya said straightening his posture and looking at her straight. He said with less hostility in his voice now, "I am Lord Arya Pelnas, commander of the third ship division of the army, and high political adviser of the imperial court and his lordship Juwel." Arya held up his imperial seal of government, the rose and lute were his signs of power. "I apologize for my demands, but of recently I cannot trust any Lebrethians first hand, yet I failed to give you a good chance. Seeing you out here made me suspicious." Arya took another step forward. "The best I can do to apologize is secure your ship on Pelnas and keep you within my walls. Juwel will personally see to it that you be tortured and interrogated, and If he finds out about my freelance work of investigation, he would put me under protection and the island of Sceptra would be doomed to it's expiring. Then those diseased would come to these islands, and it would spread." Arya explained. "Do you not see my vision to protect us all?"

Kaspin stood up and placed his arm on Eva's side. "He is right girl, it would be to benefit us all." Kaspin agreed he knocked his cane on the boat's wood. He walked over to Arya. "Hmm... Ah yes, Pelnas's boy, you've grown." Kaspin said with a smile. "Have you got your steps right?"

"Master Kaspin!" Arya said unbelievably. "Yes... my father spoke of you to me." Arya shook his hand appropriately. "I see you have come across this women, but under what cause."

"My own, come Eva why not introduce yourself properly?" Kaspin said. Then his attention came to the older figure. "Ah, professor Astra... Astra something. I have heard of your works, and I have been wanting to meet you for some time. I was wondering, do you perhaps have any thought on philosophy?"

Eva let out a slight gasp as she realized how much military power this man held. For a moment, she though he was going to have his guards attack her and hold her in prison, but he only talked. She couldn't help but to hold back a bit of anger because of the stereotypes in her mind about the military leaders and nobles.
"Yes..." she said in a flat tone that held no emotion whatsoever. "I do see your point..." she continued. It sounded forced.
Part of her was telling her to whip out her sword and fight him, however that was simply natural instinct. He hadn't done anything to deserve or provoke a fight.
"So... You two know each other..?" she asked apathetically, trying to change the subject.

"Not directly no, but through ancestry our families together have fought against those of the rebellious natives. Sadly I must admit that I come from a similar blood line as those who go against the will of the imperial court. My for fathers and his met on the battle field, and bonds were made. The Tegu line left my family Pelnas, and protected one another in duty. Such is described on the code of arms and scripts of my ancestors." Arya explained. "The Tegu and Pelnas select to youths of each of the family to be bonded and defend one another, mine has yet to be born." Arya went further while Kaspin nodded in agreement. He bowed his head to Eva. "Eva, of Lebrithian blood, you are requested as a personal guest of the Pelnas family, and will be able to go about isle Pelnas easily and without question, not disguise required. Such will be my orders." Arya turned. " Now If you would be kind to show me to your boat, we need to get out of this chaotic place as fast as we can." Arya gestured for her to lead.

Eva smiled when she was told that she would be accepted here. However, her natural instincts suspected his last few words. She looked around, and the place didn't seem too chaotic. In fact, the chaos that had happened earlier had mostly passed. It now seemed to be rather deserted. And the fact that he wanted her to take them to her ship didn't seem very settling.
However, Eva ignored what her instincts were telling her and nodded.
"If we escape from this place, where do you propose we go?" Eva asked, turning her head back to look at him with a grin.

Arya nodded. "We will return to my palace on Pelnas." Arya answered. He pointed to a alley way. "May I suggest that way."

Morilineth walked close behind next to Kaspin. "So you've heard of my works? Well, that's fun to know! It shows that my work has not been for nothing. And of you I've heard much of as well. You're a great general, so if war begins, I'm sure we're covered." He said to the man about nine years younger than he. As they trudged along, Morilineth kept a pace that was normal, no longer needing to pretend he was to weak to do a thing. He walked officially, but bent over, hinting he ma need a cane eventually. But in the mean time, he took some bread and offered it to Kaspin and Eva.
