(-is really sorry for the uber lateness guys- I finally went through things and am trying to reply to every rp I'm in. D: I didn't know whether it was my turn to post or not which was another reason I kinda waited, but I'm going ahead since I guess it is?)

Ice formed beneath the cattaur's hands as he fiddled around with the broadsword that had been given to him. Practice had become a routine and Triston enjoyed the time alone. With swift movements the cattaur cut through the air and even a hint of a smile showed before he sheathed his sword.

A crisp wind brushed his long raven hair behind his face showing off two ice blue eyes as the cattaur turned to the forest. He should be checking on those two soon...a small sigh left his lips. Really, what was he going to do? Continue living more lives?

Already his foster father was moving on and the cattaur had finally started to let go. It was painful and so Triston had found himself traveling more and more lately. Still he was relieved to know of this one place where he could push family matters aside for the other family that he had...of sorts.

With soft steps that cattaur began racing through the woods towards where he knew Alazne and Blake would be.

(( Wow, I completely missed this continuing. sweatdrop Sorry!! Um, I'll say this is before he moves on to meet that hunting party. ))

The small wolftaur pup, found nearly starved and frozen, had grown well and strong into his teenage life. The few memories of his previous family had gone with time, forgotten and replaced by his new one.

Hiding in the brush, Blake breathed slowly and deeply, eyes narrowed and dialated. He crouched, waiting for Alazne to go by so he could pounce. He had put mud in his hair to hide the betraying bit of yellow, but couldn't do much for his glowing eyes.

Pondering of moving to a new place to change things up, he bit back a growl when he heard a twig snap nearby, spotting a rabbit running through. Oh, he'd show that thing a lesson! Forgetting the current lesson he was supposed to be learning, he launched himself from the brush after the startled rabbit.

Unfortunately -of, perhaps, quite fortunately- it wasn't Blake who'd snapped the twig that the female had heard, but someone else - someone she'd been pining for since the day they'd met.

Darting through the woods with a practiced quickness and a thorough memorization of this portion of the wooded area, Alazne stayed wide-eyed, alert and searching for the boy she'd been looking for. But, she slowed as the forest became more unusual, before reaching the boundaries of her small pack's territory, tail flicking to either side behind her before its movement died down and she simply looked confused. Where had he gone...? Certainly not beyond their borders, he knew better than to do that, but...

Turning to return home was when she came face-to-face with the near-silent cattaur whom she'd missed for so long, and her own eyes widened as she fell backward in her attempt to give him back his personal bubble. Finally, a smile broke through the shock and she jumped to her feet, tail whipping back and forth excitedly along with the entire back half of her body. "Triston!! It's been so long!! It's... it's so good to see you!!" she said with a light laugh, forgetting about Blake, too caught up in the surprise of the moment.

Triston slowed as he moved towards the familiar woods. Would they be outside? Even here? Pausing the cattaur scanned the area and his eyes lightened. Blake's scent was strong around this area and the cattaur had caught sight of a blur chasing after what appeared to be a rabbit. But he was startled from his thoughts as Alazne appeared.

"Hey." Triston grinned and nodded. But a flicker of guilt laced his icy gaze and he looked away. Winter was coming back and with it he came. Summers had been torture and the cattaur had started traveling north to the cold wilderness of the isles. But he hadn't wanted to ruin the warmth of spring for any one else so he always traveled alone in secret.

"I'm sorry." He spoke quietly before looking around, "How are....things?" Triston's bangs fell over his left eye as he gazed at Alazne. He was glad to see that she seemed well.

Blake growled, chasing the rabbit until he ran into something. He whined as he touched his nose, glaring at the tree in front of him. How was he going to explain this to- Alazne! He was supposed to be hiding! He flopped to the ground like a rock. He made so much noise... She wouldn't be pleased.

Alazne's joy was enough so that it was making her practically vibrate in excitement, tail unable to move any faster than it had. Already, memories of when they'd been together, regardless of how intimate or not, flooded her consciousness. She bit her lip to keep her smile down to something at least somewhat sane as she did so. The apology did make his disappearance sting a bit more, as she would not at all have minded his company for the long period of time, but it didn't at all dampen her mood.

"Things are wonderful. Well, good, I mean." After all, she didn't want to seem too overjoyed to see him. As if she didn't already do that. "Blake's gotten bigger. Much bigger. I've been teaching him how to disguise himself and how to hunt. Oh! Blake, that's right!" she remembered, laughing to herself as a faint blush crossed her face. She turned back to their territory. "Blake!! Practice is done for the day, you'll never guess who I found!! You can come out now!!"

Triston's icy gaze couldn't help but to go back to Alazne. Was she angry? Glad? Relieved? Stressed? The cattaur wished he was better at reading others - but it was so hard especially since he barely knew how to show his own feelings when and if he ever did.

"Good." Triston nodded, his gaze softening just a bit. At least things were fine over here. That was a relief for him. Blake... - the pup from that night - it was good to know how he had grown, yet Triston felt a bit sad when he realized how little he had seen of the growing wolftaur. Not, not like he was a true father anyway...but still.

"Hmm." Practice? Was that the cause for the blur? Triston's expression showed a hint of interest as he looked around. Would Blake even recognize him?

Hearing Alazne's call, Blake lifted his head, ears flicking around. What? Come out? Why?! ....Had he done something wrong? It was getting distracted by the rabbit, wasn't it. Oh, she found someone. Who would be out here though?
He pushed through the brush, ears flipped back slightly in nervousness as he sought his semi-mother and her mystery guest. He broke through, spotting Alazne and the strange cattaur. He frowned slightly. Though Alazne seemed excited, he still went quickly to her side in a protective manner. It wasn't until her was close enough to feel the cold radiating off of the other male that he paused, feeling a twinge of familiarity. "I know you." He said softly, a mix between a statement and a question. It was from long ago, behind the cloud of his fuzzy baby memories.

Alazne was so excited that she swore she could barely breath properly. Her tail flipped back and forth energetically behind her, gently extending her claws, scraping them softly against the dirt beneath them. Her ears flicked forward each time the male spoke, drawn to his voice before flipping back in slight embarrassment, cheeks highlighting only slightly. She wanted to try harder to hide her happiness at Triston's appearance, but no matter how hard she tried, she honestly couldn't help it. Rather, he tried to distract herself with talk of Blake.

"Yes, yes. He's a good boy, really. A relatively fast leaner, and he's very obedient, too. I've had a relatively easy time taking care of him, as a matter of fact," she explained while she paced back and forth, a bit of a pounce in her steps, obviously trying to contain her over-the-top excitement to be entertaining the guest that she had missed for such a long time. When her sort-of-son returned from wherever he'd been hiding, she smiled, chuckling at his over protectiveness, nodding at the recollection from the boy.

"Yes, as well you should," Alazne said kindly, nodding toward the cattaur despite even the gesture making her heart flutter, as did the recollection of the night they'd found the little wolftaur. "Triston was there the night I found you, as well as for a good part of the rest of that Winter. He helped me take care of you when you were small."
