Adonai smiled and closed the door again, then headed towards the stairs. "Come on," he murmured, "I'll show you the rest of the house."

He could hear Shael and Rhea already beginning their lesson in the study, and he smiled. Rhea was an active child, but she was a good kid at heart.

"Whenever works best for you," Adonai replied without hesitation. "If you prefer mornings, then that would be fine, if you prefer afternoons that would be fine as well ... Rhea tends to fall asleep early, usually right after dinner, so I don't think evenings would work though. Of course she makes up for it by waking up before the sun even begins to rise, but that's children for you."

Adonai nodded. "Then Rhea should be sufficiently tired for her to concentrate on her studies in the afternoon," he chuckled. "Mother always taught Aliya and me in the mornings, but we were so fidgety ... at least, Aliya was. I thought we would try lessons in the afternoon instead ... and so far it's been working all right."

He chuckled. "Sometimes she falls asleep before the end of her lesson, on her particularly active mornings."

Adonai smiled sheepishly. "To be honest, I couldn't say," he admitted. "I think it might be best if you sort of ... got to know her a bit, sense her out ... get the feeling for her magic before you attempt anything major. Kara just about had flowers growing out her arms when she first started with Rhea, because she wasn't expecting the amount of magic that Rhea had at her command."

He held up one finger. "And I have to warn you," he added. "The more Rhea uses her magic, the more powers she finds that she has. Don't take any unnecessary risks, and try to make sure you can protect yourself if anything happens. I know Rhea's been using mostly water and spring magicks, but our family has a history of fire usage, and who knows what else she got from the Valie."

Adonai smiled. "Good."

He wanted to make sure that she would be safe. Not that he didn't trust his own daughter ... but she was powerful, and she didn't know how to control it yet, and, well ... accidents did tend to happen ...

"Then the rest of the house," he said warmly. "You've already seen the kitchen and dining room, which is basically that entire side of the house ... then there's just this area."

He led her to the living room, where she had first come in.

"That door there," he pointed, "is the study ... basically for me and Rhea, Shael only uses it for teaching Rhea. You're welcome to go in there any time you like, that's where I keep my books and other resources. I used to keep them in here," he added sheepishly, "except there were so many of them Shael was starting to get annoyed, she couldn't keep it clean even when she spent all day every day organizing and tidying. So I take care of the study for her."

"Don't ask me to count," Adonai laughed heartily. "A good number, perhaps a few hundred, almost all of which I wrote myself. I think there are a few from Alyse in there, she studies with me sometimes, sometimes research ... she's a good aide, when she's in the mood for it."

He smiled at Cindy. "You're welcome to take a look now, if you'd like," he offered.

Adonai nodded again. "Then I will leave you to your unpacking," he murmured. "I can accompany you if you would like, if you don't want to be alone ... or if you would rather be alone, I have other things I could do as well."

He would leave it to her. Nothing he had was pressing, but he wanted her to feel comfortable, and not pressured.

Adonai smiled and nodded. "I'll leave you to it, then," he grinned. "Come on down when you're ready, or if we don't see you by dinner time we'll come and get you then. If you need anything, I'll be in the study as well."

He nodded towards the study door. "I'll see you later."
