Her ears raised and she tilted her head side to side. "What's wrong?" She asked, a little sad that he backed down. Her ears slowly lowered. Did she do something wrong? "I... I guess if you don't want to learn right now that's fine. We can practice a little at a time each time we meet." She didn't want him to feel bad.

"N-nothing's wrong." he said quietly, drawing random things in the dirt with his claw. He was surprised to hear sadness in her voice, since he expected anger or taunts, and he looked up. His ears flicked and he noticed her own were folded back. "Oh, right now's a good time." he said, hoping to make her feel better. "It's just that I've never attacked anyone else before on purpose, whether it was serious or not." he admitted, looking down again, fiddling with a stick that happened to be close by.

"Think of it like a game! We're trying to win by tackling the other first." her tail twitched slightly once. "First one to pin the other person wins. And the looser... the looser has to catch some dinner!" She was proud to think up the wager.

"A game?" Chance cocked his head a bit. That sounded better, less violent at least. "Sounds good." he said tentatively. He was still thinking about it. He guessed he could try, at least. He could catch dinner for them both (fish again) if he had to or he could see what Makki could catch. He was interested in what she would bring so he gave a stiff nod, trying not to back out. "Right." he said, trying to ready himself.

Makki's body dropped, her front paws out front, her rump still in the air. She was in full play mode now. Her tail was going wildly now. She gave a sideways bound and a happy yelping bark before giving an awkward leap forward, trying to coax him into making the first move.

Chance eyed her tail carefully, wondering what would happen it hit him. Watching how excited she was, he smiled, his own tail wagging. At first, he jumped back from her sideways bound but he stood his ground on her second jump. He barked back as he often did when he was playing and lunged for a paw of hers, trying to start out small.

She squeaked and lifted a paw to swat at Chance, but he tackled her other paw, causing her to topple over him. She rolled and shoved her nose between his paws and her own and let out a happy bark, trying to make enough room to wiggle free. When she managed to wedge her nose in there enough and opened her mouth she slipped her paw free of his grasp. Unfortunately, he now had her nose. But it was smaller and he would have a harder time holding on.
Makki fwumped a paw down around Chance's middle and tried to roll him onto his back.

Chance let out a yelp when she fell on him and he landed on his stomach, his paws sprawled out. At least he managed to grab her paw, he though, gasping. He managed to get back on his feet and was surprised to see that Makki's nose was caught now. Not wanting to suffocate her, he lifted his paw, turning to see what was on his back this time. When he saw it was the paw he was after, he leaped after it again, his tail thumping against the floor.

Makki's mouth opened wide with a high pitched growl as she tried to mouth his paw as he moved away from her grasp. She was on her feet again and tried for a different tactic. Since Chance had his legs well protected- even if he didn't know it, she dove at him, aiming to go under him and grab that swaying tail. She missed, and rather then sliding under his legs, she slid across the leaves into his legs, bowling him over.

Chance missed the paw and his teeth snapped over empty air. He turned again, looking for her, and circled again in his excitement. Suddenly, something crashed into him and he fell, Makki close by. Before she could do anything, he leaned closer and grabbed one of her ears, yankinging on it softly. Game or not, he still didn't want to hurt her.

Makki tried to shake her head loose. She didn't really want to loose to him, but at the same time, thought he needed the confidence. He had a good enough grip on her ear that she wouldn't shake free without some pain, so she gave a yelp of surrender. "You win!"

Chance felt her ear slipping away when she shook her head some and he tightened his grip. After a moment, he loosened it again, wondering if he'd be able to hold onto something without hurting her. His ears flickered and he heard her say something. At first, it was just noise to him. He was still wondering what he should do, but then the words registered and he blinked in surprised. Won? Him? He eyed her, wondering if it was a trick or something. Well... he supposed if it was, he would find out soon enough. He released her ear, sitting up, and watched her for a moment, his expression thoughtful.

She sat up and shook her head again, her ear twitching. Her tongue lazily flopped out of her mouth and she panted a little, smiling at him. "You win." She repeated. "Would you like rabbit?" She asked with a grin. "Or should I try fishing again?"

Chance cocked his head a bit. Sure, there was the moment of doubt was it was overrun by his feeling of victory. He had never won a fight before and this was his first time, too. "Did I do good?" he asked excitedly, his tail scraping the snow away as it wagged furiously. It slowed for a moment when she asked her question but resumed its original speed soon after. "Um... I guess a rabbit." he said. He hadn't had rabbit in a while and he could eat fish whenever he wanted. Plus, he didn't want to make it harder for her. It seemed she was better at hunting rabbits. Now that he thought about it... wouldn't his obvious show of glee make her feel worse for losing? Some would take it as taunts.... His tail slowed and came to rest by his paws and he looked down again. "If you want. You don't really have to."

Makki grinned. "Well, I happen to like hunting. And I've never hunted for someone else before, so this will be fun!" She walked around him. "And you did very good. "That's why you won." She flicked her tail a little. "You might be even better when you're older!" She gave his nose a playful bop with her tail. "You wanna watch? Maybe you'll learn something from watching."
