There was something about this part of this dream what worried him. When she had gotten so far away from him that no matter how hard or fast he ran he would never reach her. The image would soon fade and a new dream would start again.

Val was in this dream. That night when she had first met Valiant came back to him all over again. They were back by the river where he had started to talk to her. He had told her that he loved her eyes. Something all women seemed to have in common, their beautiful eyes. She, at first, smiled and a faint blush appeared over her cheeks. Something he could never seen her doing in the real world. The next thing he knew she was kissing him, Leilani stood not too far from them and she ran away crying. Her tears like the murky water he adored. What was this about?

Aiden work up almost on a bing then shivered as he looked at the things that hung on the wall. He drifted back off to sleep in seconds. He wished Jezebel would go away, she spread more sin then she was trying to prevent. It seemed like words went from Val's lips to Jezebel's right to Aiden. He thought suddenly of when Jezebel was talking Leilani...what did she say? It must of been nothing if Leilani hadn't said anything.

He woke back up to Leilani looking up at him. "Good morning?"

Leilani was somewhat concerned as he frowned in his sleep, cuddling a little closer. She didn't want to wake him, but she was relieved when he woke on his own.

"Good afternoon," she corrected gently. "We've been sleeping for a couple of hours, I think." With a small frown of her own, she asked, "Did you have bad dreams?"

He nuzzled her, he wanted to kiss her but refrained from it. "No, not really." He lied. His dream was weird. He was happy he didn't talk in his sleep this time, he might not have been able to hold that lie. "How long have you been awake?"

"Not long," she told him, shrugging delicately. "It seemed like you were pretty tired, too, so I thought I'd let you sleep while you could." Did he not remember them, or was it something else? The niggling doubt in the back of her mind reared up and caught her attention for a moment before she ruthlessly tamped it down again.

"Since you're awake now, did you still want to go to Cassiopeia?" she asked with a bright smile.

He yawned then nodded. "Yes." He got up quickly then looked at her. He felt the warmth of her body leave him, made him shiver lightly. "Hey, can you grab that diamond? I have something I want to test." His smile told her he had something planned, if nothing else.

He wondered how long from here it would take to get to Cassiopeia. He had never been to this city before, let alone off this island. He kinda wondered what they used for money. He had stuff that Shera had give him but never money. "Hey Leilani..." His face turned scarlet again, but this time he was more shameful and embarrassed. It was supposed to be guys who took the girls out, he needed a job. "I don't have any money." He admitted in a low shy voice.

"Uh, sure." Stretching a little, Leilani rose from the couch and crossed the short width of her house, disappearing behind the curtains to get the uncut diamond from her window. She wasn't sure if she was relieved or not that he wouldn't know she'd gazed at it every night as she'd tried to sleep. The rose that Jezebel had given her had long since been smoothed to perfection and was hanging beside it, swaying gently in the breeze. Shaking her head at her fanciful thoughts, the fairy grabbed the diamond from its string and returned to the main room with it cradled in her hands.

"Oh, money?" she asked, as if she hadn't even thought about it. That's right...Cassiopeia is a human city. They'll go by regular currency there. Though he looked keenly embarrassed not to have any himself, Leilani shrugged.

"Amy gives me some from time to time," she told him, reaching into one of the many colorful clay jars that decorated the walls and removing a few bills, tucking it into her sleeve where it would be safe. "We can go on a date," she added, excitedly. She'd never been on a date before.

Aiden felt jealous when she mentioned Amy. His owner was there from time to time but not often. She never liked this island too much but loved her Chandra. Maybe she didn't think they needed money. "A date? I guess you can call it that." He smiled and picked her up. He noticed she was lighter this time then when he had picked her up on the beach but he said nothing. Had she not eaten or maybe it was him getting stronger. "You ready, m'lady?" If he knew half the things she did during the time he waited he would be in a deep depression but he would not ask.

"When you are," she said, smiling as she nuzzled his neck and the side of his face. It would be nice to go on a date with Aiden. It was a human tradition, dates, and perhaps because of that Leilani didn't much care who paid. She just wanted to spend time with him, anyway.

Aiden smiled then jumped off the porch to the ground and stood her up on the ground. He had landed gracefully on the ground, he was getting better at it. "Maybe later on tonight I can show you something....but it's a surprise." He whispered and started to walk, then turned around. "Which way is the city?" He chuckled nervously and grabbed her hand. Blushing the whole time.

Leilani's heart was in her throat as he jumped, but not in a bad way. As they fell, it was exciting, another excuse for her to wrap her arms tightly around his neck. She giggled. Giggled? Oh, yeah. She had it bad.

"I like surprises," she said softly, smiling up at him s he put her down. When he took her hand, her heart fluttered a little, but she gave his fingers a reassuring squeeze. She liked his hand in hers.

"This way," she said, leading him down the trail she knew would take them to Cassiopeia. "Its not a long walk, but it's getting a little dark." Looking around, the sun was just barely setting behind the trees. "You should probably keep me close...just in case."

Aiden's eyes darkened with the sky as he got serious about protecting her, he didn't know if she was playing but at this point, he was the knight he promised to her he would be.

He moved next to her slowly, watching the sky. He would have just enough time to have fun with her and get what he needed done before he was able to show her his surprise. "How long till we reach the city?" He asked in complete curiosity.

Leilani patted his arm lightly and smiled, trying to tell him without words that she always felt perfectly safe in these woods; she was just looking for a reason to be close to him.

"Not far," she assured him. After they'd walked a little while, she pointed through a clearing of trees, where the twinkling of city lights (or at least what passed for it on the islands) could be seen.

"There it is. Isn't it pretty?"

His eyes grew large with amazement as he watched all the lights. He wondered how they got them to shine that way. "It's beautiful." He said and looked around. "Where shall we eat? You pick cause I'm bad with these things." He said and laughed.

As they approached, it could be seen that the 'city' on the island wasn't much of a city at all. There were a few houses on the other side, closer to the pier where they would be at the waterfront, a single hotel and one lone apartment building. The rest was made up of cobbled streets and open air markets, strip malls and a few restaurants that dotted the corners, their bright signs leading the way in the twilight. Eyes wide, Leilani looked around with delight.

"Let's go here," she said excitedly, steering him to a restaurant with seats outside. Each two person table and a small candle in a crystal holder that sparkled even in the light. The sign boasted of 'local cuisine,' but that was fine with Leilani. A human woman dressed casually greeted them at the door, and the fairy requested a seat for two, outside.

"If that's ok with you," she asked, a little sheepishly.

Aiden smiled, "Of course." He pulled her chair out for her then watched as the women handed them two menus and two wine classes half filled with water. "Leilani," His voice was very sort and polite, suiting the mood of the restaurant. "May I please have that diamond of yours?"
