in real life, it'll be a while. logic is easy, abstract is harder. Though they're working on fighter pilot systems, from what I've been hearing.
on gaia....it's banned, so we don't have to worry about it, right? razz

Artificial Intelligence is basically a non-organic, like steel or plastic (Something that is not naturally made), that has the ability to think for its self because of technology. A macro is a program that follows orders. Two totally different things.

Oh I know. but an effective system would be able to respond and adapt, which a simple macro wouldn't be able to do. Therefore, an effective UCAV would need an AI. They have UCAV's now, but they basically just take off, fly to the target, drop their payloads, and fly back. They can't dogfight or adjust the mission as needed, because they don't have the capability to change.

Yeah, real life isn't turning into Stealth for a long time. They are making Stealth Bombers that can pilot itself. But they aren't going to use those 24/7 since human pilots are still better.
And I thought that this was suppose to be about CC not programming.

It is. We were talking about AI's (aka NPC's) not being very smart.
and btw, there are systems that can track stealth aircraft.

Cuatela It is. We were talking about AI's (aka NPC's) not being very smart. and btw, there are systems that can track stealth aircraft. Stealth aircraft has a small chance of being picked up ON radar. It can still be tracked but on radar its harder. And NPC's don't have AIs. Monsters do but an NPC with selected dialogue has no AI and only a program. And they haven't started placing AIs in games because they aren't that good. AIs think for themselves and macros, like the NPCs and monsters in the game, follow orders in the programming. It is like a Necromancer with its undead minions. Which Tim isn't part of. All games right now have macro programming but an AI isn't going to appear into games unless it is chess. Which I think it has or is starting to be put into. Chess is the only game that they usually test AIs with. Watch the first season of Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles to under stand how they test AIs sometimes. It is like midseason I believe when this AI called Terk (or something like that) is used in an AI chess tournament. Winner gets a government contract.

Any nation with satellites (Russia, USA, UK, some others) can track any aircraft by the air disturbance.
As to AI's, Games have what they call AI. I understand that it's not true AI, it's really a macro. We covered that already. razz
Also, Terminator isn't real. yet ninja

But why would TIM be standing around in the ruins? Shouldn't he back at GIB HQ, coordinating our defense plans? We stuck Caruthers there because he's not essential for anything else. rolleyes
