Dax leaned back and closed his eyes. Heh.
"Aye. Consequences are too high."

There was suddenly a hand on Dax's chest, but only fleetingly.
"We should probably get going. I'm sure I'm expected there. Whaddya say?"

"Aye." Dax nodded and stood, holding out a hand to here.

Nadia took Dax's hand and brought him out to her car. It deeply contrasted her run-down and tiny apartment building. In fact...was that a ******** hybrid bug? Holy crap. She held the door open for him and skittered over to the driver's side, waiting until Dax was buckled up before starting off.

Dax smiled and squeezed in, clicking the belt. Click!
"Little bright."

"What, the car?" Nadia asked. Really, what else was bright in the middle of the night?

"Yeah, well, red gets stolen, white shows dirt, black is dangerous, and yellow is ugly," Nadia said, still smiling. Yay, no offense taken! When they reached the venue for the event it seemed to be...a restaurant? No, no, just a big building. Music pounded out the front door where there stood a bouncer with a podium. There were lights flashing on the others floors, and it was likely safe to assume that the party had full control over the building. Hrm...how many friends did Nadia have?!

Dax raised a brow. Great. A loud club, a lot of people he didn't know... Christ, he felt old.
"Interesting place."

"Yeah, well, we had to move out of the old place," Nadia said as she led him toward the front door. She flashed the bouncer a smile, and he grinned and let her through.
"Don't feed bad, though. I know about as many people here as you do." Although she did wave to a Drow with a mohawk and a bow of cherries.
The building was full of local celebrities and maybe a few more important people in the punk world on different floors. A great deal of the guests seemed to be carrying about baby dolls that had clearly been bought on stock bases and then painted, altered, and assembled in strange ways.

"I'm too old for this." Dax laughed, shaking his head. "And I'm not even that old."

"I dunno. I don't think anyone's ever too old to have Halloween fun," Nadia smiled, "Just stick by me. We don't have to stay long." Now this? This seemed like a real date.

"Sticking by you I can do." Dax murmured, one hand on the hilt of his sword. He still held himself tall. Christ, he was out of touch with this generation. What the hell was up with the babies?

And the bunnies! And you couldn't forget the "Scary T" signs everywhere. What the Hell?
"C'mon. It's quiet-er up on the third floor." Up the stairs she went, and then again. The third floor had couches and coffee tables and a little dance floor with some tables and a buffet off to one side. It was indeed much more quiet!
...well, it would be soon. A young woman with jet-black hair approached Nadia, holding out a green-skinned dolly with deedlybops and fairy wings.
"Can you sign her for me?"
"Oh...um. Well. Here," Nadia said. She flipped the doll over, flipped up its dress, produced a Sharpie from her hair, signed the doll's diaper, and sent the girl on her way after a quick picture.
"Sorry 'bout that."
