High School Marching Band
(During School year)
Monday: 3:15-5:30
Tuesday: Same as Monday
Wednesday: 6:00-8:30
Thursday: Same as Wednesday
Friday: None, Football games.
Saturday: Depends on competitions.
Sunday: Day off
(During the Summer, Post Band Camp)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30-12
Wednesday: 8:30-12, 1-4
Saturdays: Once again, depends on competitions.

every day during the school week Mon-Fri we can only prac. a total of 8 hours (state law) but Sat. we do 12

we start marching practice about two or so weeks before the event. during football season, we march nearly everyday for halftime shows, and during parade season we march almost everyday about two weeks prior.
oh, i'm in high school band.

My high school band practices every day in class for an hour and a half, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 6, and on Saturdays before competitions.

During marching season we practice during school then we also practice at least twice a week after school for 2 hours. usually it's tuesday and thursday but if we have a comp or judging coming up we practice every day after school and sometimes on the weekend.

last year:
tuesday 4-6
thursday 4-6
friday 2:30-4 then football game
so only about 5 1/2 hours a week. =/
this year we're practicing longer for four days a week, though. :]

we practice for four hours on tuesday's and thursday's a week. But every morning before school we practice for one hour.

we just practice
every day during school for a little more than an hour
tues after school for 2 1/2 hours
and friday football games...

We practice every day in the mornings from usually 6:30 to about 7:30 when school is about to start. And a lot of times the drumline will have sectionals, or other parts will have sectionals after school. And then on some Fridays we're in the band room practicing together.

The Michigan Marching Band (Go Blue!) practices from 4:45-6:15 (an hour and a half) every day, M through F, plus Saturday mornings for roughly 2 hours, but game days basically take the entire day. That doesn't include 11 hour days during band week (hah, nothing like high school band camp), other random stuff we do, nor the time you need to spend outside of practice working on fundamentals/memorizing music, which you actually need to do if you plan on marching in any games! Yeah, it's a lot of work, but it is oh so much fun cool
