"Um... Thanks?" Matt replied looking around himself very quickly. This chick is crazy, but it's probably best to get on at least some people's good side, he thought too himself, but just in case I should keep a look out for trouble. He turned back towards Mary and said, 'Lead the way, Mary."

Mariana grabbed Matt's arm and powered her way through the crowd and toward the exit. After heading down a stairwell and busting open an emergency exit door, she found herself in the parking lot. She swung her pack over her shoulder and fastened it to the numerous hooks and chains of her outfit as she paced down the row of cars. Finally stopping, she locked her eyes on a sleek black motorcycle. She grabbed a sole helmet off the seat and pitched it straight at Matt. "Doubt a big guy like you'd wanna be ridin' Dame. Wanna take 'er for a spin?" she queried, a mischevious grin spreading across her face.

"Hahaha, no thanks," Matt said tossing the helmet back at Mary. "I'm pretty sure you don't want your bike wrapped around a light post so you can drive, don't worry I'm confident enough in my masculinity. Plus that helmet f's up my hair," he finished flipping his hair back and then rolling his eyes in as if way. "So where we off to?" he asked glancing at the bike raising one eyebrow.

User ImageMariana caught the helmet and flipped it up onto her head in one swift motion. "Suits me fine. Let's start at the coffee shop. If we're gonna be prowlin' around town, I'll need somethin' to get my head in the game." She was telling the truth; there were still a few slight traces of alcohol in her system from her adventure on the rooftop.

"Hop on, then. We don't got all day!" She started up her bike, which coughed up a bit of smoke before settling down into a steady purr. As the smoke cleared, the "Reserved--Vice Principal" sign became legible, if faintly stained off-white.

Matt looked around the parking lot and then slowly got onto the bike with Mary wrapping his arms around her waist. "Haha, have a late night yesterday?" he said jokingly, though honestly he wouldn't be surprised.

User ImageAgainst his better judgement, Josh decided to take up the nurse's suggestion and headed to the guidance office. There were worse fates than Miss Myrna. He had to jog a little to catch up with the nurse, but he slid through the door right behind her.

"So, Josh, I hear you got into a bit of a fight," Miss Myrna smiled at Josh.

"How did you hear? It only happened a few minutes ago?' Josh was flabbergasted.

"It's spread through the school pretty quick. It's been a long time since anyone stood up to Rowena. Now, come in and sit down." She gestured to the chair across from her desk. "I won't insult you by asking why. I hear about Rowena's misdeeds every day. Instead, I want you to tell me exactly what you said to her."

By the time Josh had finished recalling the string of insults, Miss Myrna could no longer contain a sly smile. She asked to hear it a few more times and, by the time Josh left, the shortened day was over and Josh sprinted to the bus that would drop him off at his job.

Alma took off her headphones and placed them around her neck as she entered the counselors office. It was a nice office, almost like any other she'd been in. There were two people sitting behind their respective desk. Her mother had told her that her counselor was a Mr. Warry. Slowly, Alma approached the man's desk and quietly spoke to him.

"Mr. Warry?" Alma said, without getting a response, so she tried again, "Um, Mr. Warry?"

The man looked up, almost surprised. Alma explained her situation to the man and next thing she knew, a schedule, school map and a note to show to her teachers had been shoved into her hands with a hasty "Here you go. Now, goodbye." Slightly surprised by this reaction, the freshman walked out of the office into the almost completely empty hallways. She knew there were almost 30 minutes before class and it was almost pointless to try to find another student to talk to. Quickly, as if to avoid being seen, Alma headed towards the library.

Tehra arrived at school, having driven there in her silver mini cooper S. She parked in an open spot- there were several open at the moment, she had arrive about twenty minutes before the bell. Even though Tehra knew she could sleep longer, she never did. Tehra had an odd obsession with always being on time, regardless of the fact that she nearly brutally murdered her clock every morning by various means. Tehra's nearly OCD tendency to arrive early (which in her mind was 'on time') affected her greatly, she would always fall into a foul mood if someone caused her to run late. So Tehra was at school twenty minutes before the bell, her body sore and tired from the battle the previous night.

She entered the building, running a hand through her pink hair. Her teal eyes- a complete disguise- looked around the halls, meeting the annoyed faces of a few students who had had to come early due to make up tests or dentention or what not. Tehra didn't know many people yet, she had enrolled in school and taken care of all of the papers the previous week while students were not in attendence, but today was her first day. The pretty fallen angel made her way to the library to see what kind of selection this place had.

Alma left the library. There were too many people in there redoing tests or other work. She had turned up her headphones and was oblivious to the girl with pink hair, or everything else for that matter. The world was too noisy. She just wanted to find some place where she could quietly read and listen to her music. Next thing she knew, she had walked into the pink-haired girl. With a small "Eep!", Alma fell over.

"I'm sorry!" Alma began, words spilling out of her mouth, "I wasn't looking where I was going. I'm sorry..." She was trying to avoid any form of yelling. People always seemed to yell at her.

Tehra had been quite oblivious herself as well. She stumbled back a step as a solid entity ran into her, pulling her out of her world and tiredness very quickly. She blinked a few times as she looked down at the girl with very cool streaks in her hair. The girl's profuse apology rather confused her. Was she really so scary? Tehra didn't think a girl with bright pink hair would be all that intimidating... regardless, Tehra smiled at the girl and offered her hand. "Its totally cool, I'm clumsy too sometimes. Don't worry about it. My names Tehra..."

User ImageUser ImageTime had flown on Cait and Jay as they worked on their dresses that night, and Cait had been forced to spend the night. They had spent the rest of the week almost inseparable scrounging the islandinsula for duct tape and scouring the internet for patterns for their dresses. they had definite sketches done, and the renaissance style was looking like the best choice. They could easily incorporate vents into the costume and that clothing style was supposed to be uncomfortable anyway. However, the two girls had suffered a mounting dread through the weekend that their plan might all be for naught if they got suspended and weren't allowed to go to the prom. Cait had spent the night again that Sunday and the two girls walked to school together after her father left the house. It had the potential to be a very very bad day.

The parking lot was suspiciously empty, even for a Monday, and Cait and Jay worried again that maybe school was still canceled. Then again, a break in in the high school was a stress for everyone, and it was possible there were some students who still weren't prepared to return. There was a sign on the library door to let people know that the counselors would be arriving around 10 AM and that from that time until closing no one else would be allowed in the library unless they were hoping to receive counseling. Jay peered in and noticed that the librarians were already beginning to move chairs and tables around and set up partitions for the counselors to use. "I hope they have enough tissues..." Cait whispered, attempting a joke in a stressful situation.

The two girls walked to their locker where Jay leaned against the cold metal trying to get some relief from the burn that was still raging over her whole body. It was starting to heal, and her skin had begin to peel revealing a new layer of skin underneath, but Jay still felt so hot all the time. Cait took out their books and leaned back too so Jay didn't look quite as conspicuous. That was when Vice-Principal Forbes walked up to them. Their stomach's knotted.

"Good morning girls, I am glad to see you weren't injured in the fight, Cait. Would you two mind coming into my office?"

"No Sir..." Both girls replied simultaneously, trying to absorb every detail of their sneakers and the floor as they followed the back of vice-principal's shoes to the administration office. Soon they were on a carpeted floor and they sat down in his office, feeling quite downtrodden.

"Well, girls, I heard about your little spat with Rowena last Wednesday. Seems you made quite the stir in our little school just before the break-in. In regards to that little bit of drama, I have some good news and some bad news.

"The bad news is that Principal Wilhelm wanted me to have you both expelled from DUHS. The good news is that I've talked him out of expelling you on the condition that you promise to fulfill 50 hours of community service including assistance in the set up and clean-up of prom. Seems Rowena's been pulled out of school because of the incident, and her father explained that no one else was to take the blame for what happened, and as such I've convinced the principal to let you two off lightly given your spotless track record. This means you two can finish your BTY and attend prom this year. I hope you two have something interesting planned."

Rowena's been pulled out of school? You mean we aren't getting expelled? We can work on our duct tap dresses and see BAND next month? I thought Rowena's father was a jerk, why wouldn't he pursue the strictest punishment possible? Oh my god, we're not in trouble! Wait... when on earth are we going to have time to make up fifty hours of community service in a month? What do they want us to do? The two girl's minds were a flurry of thought, "Umm, sir, what exactly will we be doing community service?"

"Well, you can start by cleaning up science B, and we'll see where to go from there. I've printed up these hour sheets for the two of you, and when you complete an assignment I want the two of you to come directly to me to get the sheet signed. I trust this won't be too much of a problem."

"No sir, not at all. When do we start?"

"Well, since classes are about to begin I suggest you start by going to class," Mr. Forbes joked, "And then I'll see you after school to help clean up after the professional counselors and then you'll work on fixing Science B up from the explosion. Have a good day, girls." Mr. Forbes extended his hand and both girls shook it excitedly. This was not at all a bad assignment in regards to what had happened, and they would still have time to work on their dresses. Mr. Forbes was a nice guy, and he had just saved their asses.

Cait and Jay left the office heads held high, excited to finish school and strangely excited to also get to work fulfilling their community service around the school. It was going to be a good semester....

User ImageAs Tehra was offering the gothic looking girl her hand, she heard voices coming from the principals office down the hall. She looked up and turned around, her hand still outstretched to the other girl. Tehra saw two girls walking down the hallway, rather happily. She was curious for a moment about why, but the pink haired girl knew it was pretty much none of her business. Tehra did, however, feel awful for the girl with the terrible burn. That certainly looked painful. She hoped it healed up soon for the girls sake. Her curiousity of course, made her want to know why the girl was so burned, but she knew it was none of her business.

User Image Alma took the pink-haired girl's hand and pulled herself up. This had been the first time that someone that did not know her at all helped and actually didn't seem frighten by her chosen style of dress. She caught the girl's name, Tehra. It was a nice name and fit the girl. As she brushed her black and red bangs from her face unsuccessfully and pushed her glasses up her nose, she turned to the girl, Tehra.

"I'm Alma*... Sorry about bumping into you" Alma mumbled, almost too quietly, "Um... I'm new here... Do you know where the Art room is, Tehra?"

Alma notice Tehra's gaze and followed it to where two girls were standing. They appeared to be friends and one had a serious burn. Pity for the girl flowed Alma's into mind and she sighed. It wasn't her problem. All she could do is wish the girl a speedy recovery. Suddenly, she realized her left hand was pressing the headphone into her ear. Blushing a little, Alma took off her headphones, placed them on her shoulders and turned off her MP3 player from one of her multitudes of pockets. She would have preferred avoiding a conversation but she needed directions.

(and Tehra is pronounced Tay-ra, not Tara or Tee-ra lol)

She smiled. "Nice to meet you then, Alma, I'm afraid I'm looking for that room myself. It's my first period, Today is my first day too.." Tehra looked around a bit. "Want to hunt for it together?" She said as she brushed her pink hair from her eyes. "I think its someone in this hallway or the next one. "What kind of art do you do?" Tehra glanced back at the other two, wondering where they were headed as well and if that one girl would be alright. What happened to her in this town?

"Of all the people in this hallway I could have run into, it had to be someone that was also new," Alma snickered, "Alright, I guess we need to look for it anyway."

Alma felt her mood lift a bit. She had found someone nice and had the same first period. Hopefully, life wouldn't be as bad as it was before. Maybe she could even tell someone her secret. She remembered the other question just as her mind registered a two or three inch height difference. Yay, I'm not the only girl that's tall here... At my old school, all of them were at least five inches shorter than me..., Alma thought.

"Well, I draw and anything else that seems interesting. I really want to get into painting and such but I haven't done so yet..." Alma let her mind wander. There was no need to worry as long as nothing made her get too angry. Or too emotional in any sense for that matter.
