Seth tugged at her leg as the thing grabbed it."Bah! Son of a b***h!" She quickly drew her sword and slashed the creature's wrist in one fluid motion. She kicked and stomped at its finger with her free leg and slashed its thumb in a vicious flurry to break free.

The creature burned away in the explosion, its hand releasing Seth as it became slashed up. It let out a loud howl in pain as it collapsed and became enveloped in the energy.

Maryl took a deep breath as the blast subsided. Ultima wasn't as taxing as it should be, but she was still a youth. She looked up and around hoping Seth had eluded the explosion.

Seth fell and landed just a few feet away from Maryl, sinking to her knees. her tunic was a bit singed, her stockings and shoes were gone, burned away in the explosion. Grunting as she did, Seth slowly stood up and looked toward the crater left behind then where the black hole was. She shook her head and checked her pockets. "Maryl, what was that spell?"

Maryl rushed to Seth's side as she stood up. "I'm sorry, I didn't think it would grab you." She took a few seconds to help Seth dust herself off as she looked out toward the crater. "The magisters called it Ultima. It's usually difficult for even great wizards to cast, but since I can't control elements at all, putting them together like that is easy."

The large dead creature faded, leaving behind a large black stone, the stone had glowing purple flecks all around its surface. All the remaining creatures dissapeared as the sphere they emerged from burned away.

Seth over at the object replacing the creature in the crater, then looked back toward Maryl. "What?" She started pacing over to the edge of the burned out crater. It was increasingly apparent the heat left over since there wasn't anything separating her feet from the ground anymore. She levitated the stone lifting it off of the ground and bringing it to herself, holding it in place just out of her own reach.

Maryl scratched her head and sighed bashfully. "It's sort of difficult to explain. Maybe I'll run it over you later?" She walked over and collected her cloak and hat, putting them back on and straightening them out, then walking over to her staff which remained floating by where she started. "I'm sorry about your shoes and stockings, I'll replace them." She smiled and stuck her tongue out, "At least you didn't lose your legs."

Actually I did... Seth didn't want to alarm Maryl to this so she remained silent about it. she looked back at Maryl and smiled, "I guess you're right. Lets get this stone back to the chancellor and tell him we completed the task." Seth looked around at the quiet area briefly then jogged over to Maryl. "Ready to fly?"

Maryl smiled gleefully and uncovered her hearthstone from her bag. "Actually that won't be necessary. We can teleport with this." She held the stone up toward the sky and began to activate it.

Seth took the stone in one hand, and put her other arm around Maryl's shoulder. It hadn't hit her for a few seconds until she asked, "Where is this going to take us exactly?"

Maryl was surprised. Sure, not everybody knows what a hearthstone is or what it does but since the question came up. "Oh! Well it's..." The two of them vanished over a magic circle and a flash of energy as the stone's spell took effect, taking them out of the area.

Being that he was in a foreign city instead of an earth nation town, Kujaku sort of expected the negative reaction he was getting. People weren't jumping and fleeing in terror, but anybody in his path who noticed him immediately moved out of the way. There was a sizable clearing around him as he traveled across the town. He made but one brief pause to glance out over the seaside and listen to the calming waves before he continued to trudge onward to the east. At the very least, he was grateful that even the city guard were fairly afraid of approaching a menacing looking ogre.

Kel dropped in around the edge of the town from the north and quietly walked along the path until he reached the city epicenter. He inspected the scrap of paper from his pocket for the address and made a turn down the street to the east, heading for the residential area.

Kel emerged from the residential area only a few minutes later having made his delivery. He looked around and figured it wasn't a bad time to take in the sites of the port town.
While making his way through the town square, Kel noticed people moving around a large crater. Nobody was saying anything or pointing it out, but it was there just the same. Kel shrugged in confusion and went about his sightseeing.
