Raina couldn't help but smile. Just the thought of blowing something up made her smile, something she always tried to do. Grades had never been important to her, so she would purposly try to mess up a potion in evvorts to make an explosion. A year before she had seen Ascella put her chewing gum into her potion, and it exploded. Soon after, Raina had tried that, and nothing happened. Since then she had tried many, many times to get something to explode or set on fire. To this day she hasn't. Of course, she hadn't really thought of looking in the book to get a potion to explode, but then again she wanted to discover something. On top of that, Raina was never good at lying, so if she said it was an accident, she wouldn't give herself away.
Shaking her head back to reality, Raina walked over to Seth, and Xurdion. She gave each of them a wink and took out the things she needed for a potion. At the sight of Ascella, looking like she had just been woken up from a really good dream*, Raina shook her head. "Good morning Lovelies. Nothing exploded without me right?"
* By that metaphor, '...From a really great dream' I mean that Raina saw what Ascella looked like from her prior knowledge and interpretation. One person may have thought she looked like she was depressed, like a statue, ect.

Judas stirred in the moonstone, anxious about getting it just the right speed. He added a few drops of Essence of Euphoria and glanced at his watch. "Class should be over soon," he told Moira quietly. His potion turned yellow, and he bit his lip. "Do you think this is bright enough?" he asked nervously. He started slowly stirring counterclockwise and counting under his breath. He didn't want to send the room up in flames.

Moira gave Judas a grateful smile. It felt like the morning was dragging on and on, and she knew that Edgar would be waiting for her owl. She was religious about her letters, and so was he, considering how easily he was distracted. She wondered how everything at home was. Sure, it had only been a day, but still.
Judas' question brought Moira's attention to his potion. She studied it thoughtfully. "It looks good to me. Mine was about that color too. Don't worry." She smiled. Her mouth moved silently as she counted the revolutions of the spoon. She'd only ever seen a potion blow up once, and that was plenty.

Addison slunk into the classroom as quietly as possible, hoping the teacher didn't notice her lateness. Slipping over to the supply cabinet, she grabbed what she needed and hurried over to an unoccupied table, laying the ingredients down and sighing. She couldn't believe she was late on the first day, for her first class no less!
Glancing up at the instructions on the board, she worked as quickly as her hands allowed, taking care to follow the instructions as closely as she could while trying to look as if she had been in the class the entire time, and wasn't hurrying to catch up.
Slowing her pace, she began to stir carefully as she did not wanting the cauldron to explode. She looked around at her fellow students, taking care to keep her stirring slow. Smiling as she saw Judas and Moira, she gave them a small nod before saying, "Hello you two. How are your potions?" Addison went about finishing her potion, listening for their replies.

Judas was bottling his potion when Addison walked in. He smiled at her. "Hello, Addison. I think I'm doing all right - at least, I hope I am." He corked the bottle, hurriedly handed it to the professor, and zipped back to Addison and Moira. "So, how have you two been? Anything interesting going on?"

Seamus slipped into the room, pushing his soft black hair back from his face. Immediately he saw the boy from breakfast, sitting near two fairly attractive girls, although not much his type. He went to him and pulled up a stool. "Juicy, what are we doing?" He saw that some students were already finished and sat around chatting. He turned his eyes to the red-headed Gryffindor girl who was already finished. "Hey. Let me use your cauldron." Not a question. Seamus never asked.

"Finished!" Moira told Addison, smiling. When Judas returned from the Professor's desk, he asked, "So, how have you two been? Anything interesting going on?" Laughing ruefully, Moira gave him a look. "You know all too well what's going on with me. What about y-" Before she could finish her sentence she was interrupted by a Slytherin who for some unexplicable reason was calling Judas "Juicy". She was about to tell him to wait his turn when he asked to use her cauldron. No, not asked. Asked is nice, demanded. Expected? The guy's a jerk. She looked into his deep blue eyes and sent him a look the could curdle milk. "It's been a long day Slytherin. Try asking nicely."

Damian had just walked into the room when he overheard someone say "Hey. Let me use your cauldron" in a commanding sort of tone. He looked toward the source of the voice and found it to be none other than Seamus Riley. The Slytherin was always stirring up trouble. He had a tendency to see everyone as beneath him and his family was still into that whole pure-blood wizard supremacy deal.
Walking up behind him, Damian said, in a stern but controlled tone, "You best be doing your own work from your own cauldron, Seamus. You wouldn't want to land yourself a detention or lose housepoints, now would you?" For Damian, it wasn't solely about defending a fellow Gryffindor, but more of the fact that he believed that things should be fair and that everyone should do their own work. Call him a goody-goody, but thats exactly what he was and he didn't deny it. That and maybe the fact that he didn't like Seamus's stuck-up attitude.

Addison stirred her potion a few more times, slowly. Smiling back at Judas, she said, "I'm sure it's fine." Watching with a bit of envy as he handed in his sample, now finished with the assignment just as Moira was.
About to answer Judas' question, Addison was interrupted by a Slytherin boy who rather rudely told Moira to use his cauldron. Opening her mouth to snap something back at him, another Gryffindor spoke up before Addison had the chance. Glad that someone had said something, she continued to make her potion, following the instructions on the board closely.
Finally, finishing up her potion, Addison left her cauldron to go fetch a sea-glass bottle that the professor had designated they use, and filled it. Walking slowly and carefully so as not to drop the potion, Addison handed it to Professor Krouso before hurrying back to clean out her cauldron.

"Damian. Missed you on the train." Seamus didn't even turn around, although he did have a measure of respect for the boy, despite his House status. He came from a long line of wizards, like Seamus had. "Now, do you really think I was going to cheat off the little thing? I just wanted use of the materials." His voice was cordial, but chilly.
He turned his devastating eyes back to the red head, "Please, Gryff, may I use your cauldron." He was never one to piss off the ladies, they were so much fun! If she wanted her please, she could have it. But oh, Jana would be hysterical about now. Or she'd have her fist in Damian's face. It was hard to tell. She was quite volitile.

Raina sat their, staring at her fellow classmates. Apparently there was another Slytherin there, though, his name was never one she cared to remember. 'Why can't he get his own damn cauldron?' With a roll of her eye, she ignored the other students, using her wand to summon her cauldron for her to do her potion. Raina felt just slightly bad that she was ignoring Ascella, but as many other people knew, that when Ascella was in this mood, she only wanted to talk to Dexter or Kale. Ascella never liked talking to Raina, and they were mainly friends because they were to opposite each other, only giving each other a good laugh. "Damian, How do you know his name, and not me. Oh wait. Maybe because your nicer than I am." Grinning, Raina used her wand to fill up her potion and get started on the steps in order.
(I'm not going to write each step individually, it will take far to long.)

Judas winced when he saw Seamus come in. Juicy. Oh God, my name is Juicy. He huddled in closer to Addison and Moira as he watched Seamus and Moira bite at each other. He was shivering slightly. He tried desperately to make himself seem smaller. He was avoiding Seamus's gaze at all costs.

Moira watched Judas' reaction to Seamus, who was completely abrasive. She made a mental note to ask about "Juicy" but in truth, she was a bit afraid to know. He was shrinking before her eyes almost, trying to avoid Seamus' attention. She stood up and thrust the cauldron at him. "Oh here then! But have off with it, you aren't welcome to sit here." She turned from him and gave Damian a grateful look. It was nice of him to step in, stick together. For all the impression it left on the Slytherin. He came off quite on shakeable. She wasn't sure what to make of him, other than the obvious, J E R K.

Before Morgan was able to answer Moira, a boy from her own house and year entered the dungeon class room. She rolled her eyes upon recognizing him. "Oh, Seamus. Please keep your mouth shut for once." Morgan didn't feel like dealing with his curt ways at the moment. Quirking an eyebrow his way when she heard the call of "juicy", the red head rolled her eyes. "Typical..." Poor Judas. At least since he too was a Slytherin. Seamus wouldn't be as cruel as he could be to him then. Morgan twirled her wand in her fingers idly, watching the students get riled up.

Damian smirked. Seamus was, as always, trying to worm his way out of getting in trouble just by turning up his "charm". "Yes, I guess I missed you on the train as well." he said "Fact stands that you have your own cauldron, so you best use it. You wouldn't want the professor to assume that you're cheating?"
When Raina suddenly spoke up to Damian, he turned his head slightly, so that he could kinda look at her, but still keep Seamus in full view. "I'm sorry Raina. I didn't mean to overlook you. Please forgive me."
He continued to watch Seamus, making sure he made no advances to take Moira's potion. He took his responsibility as a Prefect quite seriously, so he wanted to make sure that Seamus would go to his desk and start on his work, without using someone else's potion.
