My school offers French, Spanish, Latin, and Chinese. I think schools should offer these in addition to German, Japanese, and Russian.

This is in no particular order.

Mandarin Chinese, what with how widely spoken it is. Then Russian, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Swahili (I'm serious), and Arabic. I feel like I'm forgetting something.

To me saying learning Latin is a necessity for a linguist is like saying learning how to work on a Tin Lizzie is a necessity for a mechanic. <_<

My school offers
Estonian (mother tongue)
English
Russian
French
German
Spanish

I'm pretty happy with the languages the school offers but you can only choose two besides Estonian and English. Chinese and Latin would be cool.

My public school offers, currently, only French, Spanish and Latin.

We used to have German and Japanese, I believe, but those teachers left, and now the school can't seem to find quality speakers of these languages who have teaching credentials.

I believe we should teach, in our high school in Cali:

Spanish - Useful because there are many Mexicans, Spaniards and otherwise Latino people in California and other close-to-Mexico states.

German, Russian, French, and Italian - Useful because many job oppurtunities will pop up when you've learned these languages.

Japanese - If you know this, you're going places for sure. The Japanese have many extraordinary job oppurtinities for you.

At my school they have
Spanish
French
German

They should get Russian, because there are a lot of Russians moving into my city. The cops know russian, why shouldn't the students?

My school offers:

English
French
German
Italian (you can't take it unless you're in 5th or 6th year, and even then it has to be taken at a very basic level)

I'm actually really pissed off at my school currently: they give the 2nd years, who've just made their subject choices, sample German lessons. WE NEVER GOT THAT!!!!! My brother's been going on and on about it (he's taking it as well) crying
