That is wonderful to hear Kima. Everyone should have a pillar to lean upon and it sounds like your mother is a very strong and sturdy one.

In the book I'm reading (The Chosen), a boy was brought up by a father who is silent to him.

Is there more to the plot? I mean what is the story about aside from that?

From what Scoot has told me it's about a Jew in the USA during World War II. 3nodding
Scoot: That sounds somewhat...depressing, to say the least.

I was going to just send you a link to the Wikipedia article, but it might help my understanding of the book to summarize it myself... plus, the page won't load. xd
The story takes place in a Jewish community in the U.S. during WWII. During a hardcore grudge match in softball, teenage Reuven is hit by the ball and is hospitalized for a week. During this time, he befriends Danny, the boy who hit the ball at him, and discovers that the boy is the son of an honorable local rabbi. While he is remarkably knowledgeable in Jewish literature and the Torah, his knowledge of other subjects is restricted by his father.

Were you caught up in a Hurricane, Duke? Or just busy writing about it?
Kima: So your story is about hurricanes? Hmm, interesting.

Kita: No it's just when Duke mentioned hurricanes I thought of the our mascot. The Light That Failed is about an Artist who is tryong to win over the woman he loves that he met when they were young. The point I'm at now, d**k, the artist, is starting to long to travel the sea again. It was published in 1890.
