Milena signed her name at the bottom of the parchment, but before she could call her work down, she set in a few spells. One to notify her, where she was, that the emergency procedure had been opened and another to open a channel for her to talk to Chuma if such event were to occur in her abscence. Still she was not completely satisfied. Sure her task was no where near as grueling as-
"Milena? Milena where are you?" -his.
Milena smiled and as she rolled up her scroll she called out to Dominicus, "Back at my desk!" She placed a wax seal on the scroll and pressed her signant ring into the hot liquid. A rose blosom with the letters 'BA' and in tiny cursive the word 'keeper' was imprinted into the red, sweet smelling wax. She placed the scroll in a bracket behind her desk.

Dominicus heard the summons of Milena and hurried to the approximate location, whipping around volumes of stacked books. Cherubs began to come into view, apparently they all needed to mill around Milena for some unfathomable reason. Turning his nose up at a few of the curious glances he received from the cherubs, Dominicus advanced forwards until the smell of melted wax assaulted his senses. Flicking the silver tresses of hair behind his shoulder Dominicus slowed his pace and came to a stop at Milena's desk. As always the Angel of Time was surrounded by a variety of papers, ranging from yellowed scrolls to the crisp white of new paper, and to the side of them all lay her glasses. They reflected the harsh orange light of the setting sun that filtered through the arched windows, sending some of the light into the sensitive grey of Dominicus' eyes. Dominicus turned away from the bright reflective surface, for a bright light always had the uncanny way of giving him the must horrendous of headaches.
Proffering the two books in need of returning, Dominicus laid them down on an unoccupied portion of the desk. "You look busy." Dominicus said this with a ghost of a humorous smile on his face, a smile that the cherubs wouldn't have picked up on. However Dominicus' mood soon turned business like again and he cast his gaze around the towering shelves of books. "Have you got any new books? Those damned humans take up far too much of my time, why does there have to be so many? It's just selfish." Dominicus rattled off as if they were practiced lines. He shook his head, briefly closing his eyes and recovering his composure Dominicus switched the topic once again. "How long do you think it will take to recover the Meteor Stones?" Pausing in his questioning Dominicus gave Chuma a pointed look; "I don't trust these incompetent fools." Just after saying this as if to prove his point, a cherub bustled by. Arms laden with books the cherub stepped unknowingly on the overgrown and bedraggled feathers of Dominicus' wing. Flinching slightly Dominicus snarled at the cherub, the colour drained from the young ones face and he apologized profusely. Turning away from the cherub Dominicus merely shook his head. The book Milena offered had better be good.

"Not so much busy as stressed," Milena said to Dominicus with an inflection of concerned in her voice. She swept up her glasses and pressed them to her forehead while her eyes were closed, she did this often when she was distressed, which was becoming more and moe often these days.
"I really have no idea how long it will take. It depends on the kind of humans we run into," her thoughts were interupted by a cherub tripping over Dominicus's wings. She swung out her glasses towards the cherub and said esaperated, "Syra, be more careful. I need you all to be at absolute best while I'm away." The young cherub girl looked up to her with admiration saying, "Oh, Milena, we all will." She scurried off.
"Now, as to a good book," Milena said as she picked up Dominicus's returned volumes, handing them to a nearby attendant, "I'm guessing you're looking for something not human. Probably philosophy?" She stood and, as if on auto pilot, guided Dominicus to a long row of books. Cherubs followed her, she barely noticed. She came to a thick red leather volume with black embosed writing. "This is called, 'The Why and the How' by Strubar, the imp. I know you like the writing from down there." Gliding down another isle she found another book, "This is a fictional history of the Devil, rather satirical, I liked it and thought you might enjoy it." She began to take another step, but faltered. Two cherubs rushed to her side, holding her by the elbows.

Arella was the last to leave the room. She slowly rose from her seat and wandered out into the gardens. A place she always ventured when she needed to think. Her cherub, Rosella, followed quietly behind her, notebook in hand. Arella paused and opened her mouth to speak but then closed it softly and bit her lip. She frowned and continued walking. She sat down on the bench overlooking a small fountain and sighed. "What are we going to do Rosella?" Rosella glanced at her not know if it was an actual question or not. Arella pinched the bridge of her nose and stuck a finger softly in the water. She silently mulled over her thoughts.

Dominicus looked at the last book offered, both pieces of literature intrigued him. However 'The Why and the How' seemed most appropriate with their current predicament: Why must he help recover the Meteor Stones? (this question cropped up once more, despite it having already being answered) and How long would it take? (this one Dominicus conceded had already been answered, much like his previous question). "Thank you Milena, you know my taste in books well." Gesturing to the fictional history of the devil Dominicus said "this one can wait until I get back, I'll go read the other one before we leave." Giving a nod of thanks to the angel Dominicus turned and followed their previous footsteps. Slowing Dominicus' eyes scanned the shelf for the book he seeked, and spotting the crimson tomb he slid it out from its proper place.

((I'll be gone at Otakon this weekend.))
Gentoku had taken his time adjusting in the tree with Narah. It was nice, but he was still anxious. More like edgy or hyper. It was definitely something. He didn't know how long it would take her to rest, but hopefuilly not too long.
"Hm... have you been into my room lately?" He asked, he needed to. Lately he had been recording prayers and sending them up back to Heaven rather than addressing them immediately on Earth. In way, both was doing his job, but he had been sending the prayers to a special "holding cell" for the prayers for the other angels to see. Why he had left it in his room he didn't even know. He just felt better leaving it in his room. Maybe it was just because he felt lazy at the moment... but now the idea didn't seem too bright.

Milena whispered to the cherubs, "I'm fine, really," and waved them off. She regained her balance and took a deep breath. "I'm glad I could help," she said with a smile. She walked towards him, spying the red book she asked, "Now, what have you there?" Two cherubs followed anxously behind her, looking at eachother with worry.

Dominicus had passed off her moment of weakness before, but the repetition of it made him raise an eyebrow in disapproval. "Milena, you should know your limit. It will do us no good when we get to the mortal realm if you're more hindrance than help. Rest, or don't come at all." Looking at the cherubs beside Milena his brow creased and he glared at them. "It's utterly pathetic that you have to rely on the aid of such lesser beings." Turning away from Milena and the cherubs Dominicus raised the book in hand, it was indeed 'The Why and the How' by Strubar, the Imp. Turning slightly Dominicus showed the cover to Milena "I'll be resting and reading this in my room, I suggest you do something along the same lines Milena." After this was said Dominicus twisted his head around and his silver eyes assessed her once again, disapproval was evident in the hues. But turning his head back away from Milena once again a frown formed, both disapproval and something that Dominicus could not describe, having never felt it before. It was utterly bizzare, and not a feeling, almost a sensation that he wished to repeat.

Milena sighed and smiled. Dominicus's dissaproval no longer bothered her. For centuries he'd mocked her use of the cherubs, but she had learned to brush it off as his ego. "Thank you for your concern, Dominicus. I haven't been sleeping well since the metor stones failed. I suppos it wouldn't hurt to try one last time before we leave to sleep." The cherubs were pleased with this.
"I'll accompany you back," she said. She turned to her faithful companions, who seemed to follow her like light. "I don't know if I'll see any of you before I leave, so, I just want you all to know that I'm very pround of all of you and I'm sure that when I come back this library will be just as I left it. However, if something should go wrong, please open the emergency plan, I'll be able to help you. Do not try to fix a dangerous problem by yourself. May the goddess bless you all."
Milena's perfectly angelic smile caused much admiration from the cherubs. Sentiments like "Yes, Milena," and "We'll do our best," and "You've nothing to worry about!" echoed through the vast room. She ruffled the hair and patted the backs of those around her. They were all just as worried as Milena about her extended absence. "Shall we?" Milena asked Dominicus, with a gesture towards the door.

Dominicus rolled his eyes at the positively exuberant atmosphere that was wrought from just a few words and a perfect smile. Even without looking into the cherubs souls Dominicus knew that each and every one of the underlings were sincere in their assurances. "Shall we?"
"Yes, lets leave before an overly enthusiastic cherub decides to impair your movement, and thus keep your presence here." A few grimaces emerged on the faces of one or two cherubs after Dominicus had said this. Hollow laughter escaped Dominicus, and he gave the grimacing cherubs a disparaging, almost smug smile. Although, Dominicus reasoned, he had absolutely nothing to be smug about, and that the outburst of any laughter was completely uncharacteristic of him. Putting a stopper on any further allusions to frivolity Dominicus broke the ring of cherubs and stalked to the door. Remembering the fatigued angel with him Dominicus slowed his pace until Milena's strides matched his. He was losing his edge, his apathy and to do so would be catastrophic as the Angel of Death. Was this the result of a long bond to someone? Shaking the thought from his mind, Dominicus set his eyes on the door, and willed his feet to move faster. They stubbornly ignored him, the mutinous appendages.
Soon, but alas not soon enough, Dominicus grasped the shining metal ring of the door and swung it open, taking a few steps back he held the heavy wooden door open for Milena to pass through. He was cold yes, but informal no, he had observed the human males doing things such as this, and they were always well received and the action also commanded respect, in an odd sort of way. Whilst holding the door open Dominicus looked out the iron framed windows and at the encroaching pale moon, and the vibrant setting sun. The view from the library was always picturesque, it was unmarred by any tree or building, the views were pure and unblemished. Blinking slowly, Dominicus asked himself a question; was he going senile in his old age? Becoming soft and nostalgic, as well as looking at the scenery. Fervently, he hoped that that was not the case.

Milena coulded help but to chuckle at Dominicus's comment. She meekly followed him and at the door she waved goodbye to her friends. Once Dominicus had closed the library doors she pushed her glasses up over her forehead to rest on her head. Some of her hair stuck up over her glasses, she looked quite comical. But she didn't care. She streached out her wings, then folded them tighly at her back.
"In a weird sort of way, I'm looking foreward to fixing the stones," Milena said spying Dominicus out of the corner of her eye, "Not only to return some order to our home and to earth, but interacting with the 'lesser beings' should prove to be quite entertaining. Think about what they would do if they knew that they were quite literally looking Death in the face!"
Milena smiled as she kept up with Dominicus.

A sound of derision escaped Dominicus as he heard Milena's words. 'Entertaining'? How was helping the other angels going to be satisfying, nigh even entertaining!? However at Milena's last point Dominicus let slip a satisfied smirk, he could imagine now the expressions of horror and revulsion from the mortals, and when the time came to be Judged he fancied all the pleads to him. Direct pleads for once. Not to some other celestial being, it was irksome at best. Dominicus huffed and crossed his arms as they walked, before his proclamation: "When the Goddess returns however, she would have my head and strip me of my wings if the humans knew of our existence." With a sly grin he added: "It would be most amusing though as you say."
Walking down the darkening corridors Dominicus surreptitiously glanced at Milena. Her hair was in disarray, bags were forming under her eyes she looked as if the imminent rest was much needed. The sounds of their footsteps reverberating on the stone walls was all that could be heard, and the recently lit candelabra sent small wafts of smoke around the passageway. Sighing Dominicus ran a hand through his hair and inhaled deeply through his nostrils, getting the scent of the hot wax. "Although I do admit that restoring the Meteor Stones will be...amusing. I do like to observe the humans from time to time, their emotions and thoughts are...interesting but to me are unconceivable..." Drifting off from what he was saying Dominicus realised he had said too much and closed his mouth with a slight click of his white teeth making sudden contact. Really, if he was letting his composure slip this much, he must be in need of some rest.
((Ha ha ha, I do that too. It really helps you write! I also tend to draw from personal experiences, such as when I describe pain I reflect on what it felt like to be hit by a car going at 60kph. LOL))

Milena yawned. "Excuse me," she said quietly. She thought about what Dominicus had said. They wakled silently for a while, the chattering of thier footsteps banishing complete quiet. Thoughts of her downy bed filled her mind, perhaps she would embrace sleep today, if only for a time.
Suddenly words bubbled up in Milena's throught, "Yes, their emotions are increadibly interesting. I know you'd never do such a thing, but I find it relaxing to read through some of their diaries. Most of them are from teenage girls, but I read a very interesting one for a thirty something year old man- very bitter. The most interesting of all their emotions is hate. That must be the most awful feeling. It is such a passionate powerful emotion, yet utterly destroys everything it touches. I sincerely hope that I never hate anything or anyone in my time."
Milena saw the living quarters coming into view. She spied her rosewood door glisening in the distance, slowly growing larger. Beyond that Dominicus's door stood oppressively. It intimidated even Milena, no other being, to her knowledge had ever trespassed that threashold besides the Angel of Death in the history of time and space.
((Oh! It sounds like you're okay at least. I've been in... at least four car crashes to date. My mother is not the best of drivers razz ))

((I'm back now. I know some of you are still here, but I'm going to PM everyone (who is still around) anyways, just in case))
Elysia awoke with a start, and looked around the room. It appeared to be empty now, and outside the sun was setting. She sat back in her chair with a sigh, and shook her head. Everyone deserved to rest a bit before they had to leave for the human world. She could probably use some rest too, even though there wasn't likely much time. With that thought, she rose from her chair, and perched carefully on the windowsill before taking flight.
She hovered a moment far enough from the building complexes that she could see most of them clearly and tapped her chin. She almost never left her shrine, and as such, rarely ever went to her room. As a result, she wasn't sure she remembered where it was. So seeing a promising portion of the building, she flew towards it and stopped a cherub running an errand outside.
"Excuse me," she called, trying to sound pleasent, they still froze and looked somewhat afraid when they noticed her, "Do you...know where my room is?" she asked, unable to stop a blush from creeping onto her face. The cherub blinked in surprise, and pointed to one of the windows below.
"I believe it is that one, miss," he responded, and then quickly added, "We've been trying our best to keep it neat."
She nodded her thanks and quickly dove in the window. It was indeed her room, but it felt very unfamiliar to her. She cocked her head at the various crystal scultures, and guessed she hadn't really been in here since she created the Meter Stones. Walking around a bit, her wing bumped a glassy carving that she hadn't noticed was there. It wobbled a bit, and then crashed loudly to the ground, causing her to wince. She stared at the shards of crystal on the ground and groaned, as it only reminded her of things she would far rather forget.

Looking at Milena, Dominicus nodded his head at what she had said. "Yes, hate appears to be the prevalent emotion in the human world but also the most interesting. It's complex..." He himself had never felt the burn that was hate, it had never eaten away at him, he had only ever felt emotions that were kin to hate. But never hate itself. Milena's warm rose wood door then came into view and a bit further down the corridor was his own ebony door. Stopping outside Milena's door Dominicus gave his fellow angel a nod of his head. "Get some rest Milena." Leaving Milena, Dominicus swept up the rest of the corridor and slipped inside his room.
Striding over to his bed Dominicus sat himself down on it and slipped his boots off, leaving them on the floor. Staring down at the book in his hand he debated whether to read it first or get some sleep before starting. Exhaling through his nostrils Dominicus decided he would get some rest first as a pounding headache was encroaching. Not only that but how would he reprimand the other angels for not getting enough rest if he himself did not? Sliding the book on his iron bedside table, Dominicus stood back up and ungarbed himself. Dominicus enrobed himself in black silk nightwear, and threw back his bed covers and lay down in bed. Closing his eyes tightly Dominicus willed himself to sleep.
((Wow 4 crashes, yeah that's not good. And I was fine, lol I was only in hospital for 2 days and all I needed to get were stitches. Bah, horrible stitches. ))
