Kassandra sighed, fingering the silver pendant around her neck as she walked down the sidewalk. Sure, she wanted to have fun, but what was she going to do? Not that she didn't love being a member of the night, it could just be a little boring sometimes. The club had been her original choice. Which was why she'd decide to wear a pair of tight black pants and a sleeveless, backless tight purple halter. But, she didn't feel much like dancing anymore.

A stroll in the park was another choice. Of course Kassandra's outfit of choice would stand out most likely, but, she liked that anyway. Standing out meant people looked at her, saw how beautiful she was, and either made humans want to be her or have her. So, going to the park was a definite possibility. Also, she knew that was a favorite feeding spot of Alette's. That also meant, he would be there. Yes, she was liking this idea more by the minute.

Her thought suddenly were disrupted by the sound of a body falling. Eyebrows rose in curiosity Kassandra made her way over to the noise. When she got there her eyes widened. The vampire sensed it was a Wizard, or to be more specific, and Apprentice, and she was in a doll-like dress. Kassandra snorted; what kind of outfit was that?

Watching the girl enter a resturaunt a smirk came to her lips. Well, she didn't have to go to the park right away... Nodding at her decison Kassandra entered the building and looked around. Spotting the girl Kassandra walked over and smoothly slid into the booth across from her.

"Mind if I sit with you? I'd hate to eat all alone.." Kassandra said to the girl with a smile. Hah, the vampire never ate alone in her life. When she had stepped foot into the resturaunt she had sensed all of the guys' eyes on her, so she could have sat with any of them. But, the girl didn't know that, and Kassandra wasn't interested in sitting with any of the males anyway.

As she observed the people in the restaurant, Cailee sighed, hoping she could forget all about tonight. Maybe she should just go home; her father would surely be there by now, and she missed him when she woke up, so maybe it would be nice to see him. Just as she was willing herself to leave the restaurant, the door had open, and she quickly turned to see who it was. She was in a slightly jumpy mood, tonight, especially after that horrible man and grabbed her with his grubby hands.

She watched as the woman strode in, looking straight at Cailee before anything else. Cailee quickly turned back to her table, leaning her head lower as if trying to not draw attention. It was a little hard with her appearance, and she was dreading her mother's choice of attire for her today, and also the fact that her hair and eye color weren't exactly natural. "She probably saw me trip out there! Great.." she thought, embarrassed.

As soon as she looked back up, the woman was already sitting across from her, smiling and asking her if she could sit with her. Before she could answer, her curiosity took over, her purple eyes scanning the newcomer. It was only then that she realized how pale and beautiful she was, and instantly Cailee tensed. This girl was surely a vampire, there was no doubt about it. "Uh.. S-Sure," Cailee stuttered, her eyes glued to the girl. She studied her apparel, from her tight, colorful choice in clothing she would've guessed that she had come right from a club, and a small part of Cailee hoped she did. She heard that dance clubs were like a buffet for vampires and werewolves, hopefully, for Cailee's sake, she'd already had her snack tonight.

Kassandra hid her smirk when she saw the girl tense. So, the Apprentice knew all about their kind already. That made this all the more fun.

"Thanks," she replied with a kind smile. Kassandra brought her elbows upright on to the table and laced her fingers together, setting her chin ontop of her hands. "So, I saw you fall out there. You alright?" She asked the question with raised brows. Kassandra actaully cared less if she had been hurt, but she had to make conversation.

As she waited for the girl's answer Kassandra took the time to examine the girl. She looked only about fourteen or so. Gosh, they started wizards out young. Looking at the girl's outfit Kassandra was sure it was the Apprentice's mother that dressed her. Poor girl, Kassandra thought with a smidge of sympathy. Kassandra hardly remembered her past, but she had no doubt her own mother had put her in dresses like that.

Cailee swallowed her fear and tried to put on a confident act; since the girl was a vampire, she could probably sense her fear, or something of the sort. There were so many rumors about vampires, Cailee didn't really know what to believe, so she took them all into consideration. But, like she had just recently decided, humans seemed alot more aggressive and scary than vampires, hopefully that assumption was true, because she didn't want to be pulled into another dark alleyway for the second time tonight.

"No, I'm fine," she responded, folding her slightly scratched up arms under the table. Cailee hit herself mentally when the vampire had said she saw her fall. She hated seeming weak to other people, she wanted to show them that she was strong and brave, like a grown-up. Maybe standing up to a vampire would prove to the others that she was strong and that she was brave.

Cailee's thumb played nervously with the ring on her finger as her other hand clutched at a handful of the blue fabric of her layered dress. She looked down at her clothing, her cheeks becoming a light pink as she realized the vampire was examining her.

The awkward moment made Cailee start chewing on her cheek, the air so thick someone could cut it with a knife. Luckily, though, a waitress had spotted them and had arrived at their table. "Hello, sorry to keep you waiting. May I take your order?" the girl asked. She was a tall, lanky girl with straight red hair. Her posture was slightly awkward, but Cailee wasn't one to judge, she was already too busy seeing if she even had any money to spend. She pursed her lips when all she found was two dollars hidden in the folds of her dress. "I'll just have a glass of water," she said, looking back up to the waitress, then back to the vampire before looking down to her lap once more.

Cailee was curious to see if the vampire would eat human food, but she tried not to look up and stare. She couldn't help but look to her right, where, across the room, the homeless man still awaited his food. There was something different about him that she couldn't exactly put her finger on, but there was a more important matter at hand, and she was sitting right across from her.

Kassandra held back a smirk once more. The girl was clearly hurt; she'd clearly seen the scratches on her arms. If she wanted to act tough though, it was fine with her. It just heightened her amusement. The other thing that amused her of course was the girl's fear. Fear was nothing new to Kassandra. But, it was so silly.

Yes, she was a big bad vampire. If she wanted, sure, she could kill a simple human in a matter of seconds, probably even the little girl sitting before her. She didn't look to be too tough after all.. But seriously, Kassandra wasn't that scary. It was all of the stupid myths people were told. Kassandra had to admit though, having people fear her was fun.

Breaking from her thoughts she looked up at the waitress. No doubt the Apprentice was wondering what she was going to order. "I'll have coffee, thanks." Kassandra told the waitress and looked back at the teen.

Seeing the girl was looking at something Kassandra followed her gaze. Her eyebrows rose when she saw the homeless man. What was she looking at him for? "Friend of yours?" Kassandra asked the girl with a slight smirk. She highly doubted the man was a friend of hers, but she was curious as to why she was looking at him.

Marco made a tiny growl when he was giving the mouth wash from William, staring at the mouth wash like it was challenging him."I don't find that very funny. My breath has never stunk too badly after eating a burger with onions on it, the pickles have a tendency to mask the scent,"he said, making an excuse. He wouldn't reach out and take it either since he knew that everyone would most likely fall over laughing if he did. No, instead of giving in, Marco left it where it stood and turn away from it to act like it didn't exist in front of him."Always thinking ahead aren't you dear friend? Thats what makes us a good team,"he said smiling softly," you are one step ahead of your enemies while I'm just thrashing them about, saving your a** on occasion too,"he said laughing some. Marco was stronger then William but William was also craftier when it came down to fighting, not that Marco wasn't though. Marco believed that if you can out power your opponent then you can win but William was alway cautious when he fought, usually waiting for an opening.

"I think we'll have it just behind the house somewhere in the woods,"he told Tasha," and you know how I get when I'm around the others. If anything I'm not being hard enough on myself,"he said sighing, but giving off a reassuring smile. Thats just how he was after all, how all his family before him were. Quick-tempered, mean, scary, but loyal through and through. No matter how mad he got he wouldn't just up and leave if something was happening or if he was giving an order from William. His family had a long line of dedication and loyality to the alphas, he wasn't about to falter."Besides, it isn't my fault all the time. The other pack members just get a little to rowdy sometimes and need to settle down. I don't see the problem and showing some tough love,"he explain in his defense.

"Point taken." Melanie chuckled. She couldn't argue that being at home wasn't anywhere near relaxing if you were up waiting for a call for help that might or might not come. Calling it 'stressful' was the understatement of the century. "No, I'm not. Not even close. If I'm not needed for anything, I'll gladly sleep until noon. Makes me glad that I live alone." No one to wake her up before she wanted to be, unless there was an emergency call from the Council.

"Oh, it does, does it? I had to create a wall of ice between me and them to get away, and they kept hammering away at it. I only let it down when I was far, far away from them." She shuddered at the memory. "I am never, ever getting dogs. Not big ones, anyway. Maybe... a Chihuahua... or a Pomeranian..." She was joking, more or less. Still, if she did ever get a dog, it would probably be a little one. Getting a big dog wouldn't protect her at all from supernatural beasties and they were the only ones that she worried about. "Or maybe a kitten. They're cute." It wasn't exactly the typical conversation of people on patrol, but then could it really cound as a conversation when it was just a tangent that she had trailed off on?

"Well, at least you didn't actually zap her, then. I can't really blame her for running off, though." At the sound of another electronic device dying, popping and sizzling as it did, she looked over to locate the source. On the first floor of the apartment building they were passing, a man was sobbing in front of the exploding television set. Poor guy had probably just bought the thing. "He better have a damn good warrenty on that thing." Malcolm had the talisman, which she was convinced would have prevented the TV from dying. If it wasn't for the fact that she was here, as well. Two Wizards, one with something that would reduce his effects on technology just a bit... The poor TV never stood a chance.

"I kind of feel bad for the guy, but then also not. We can't have even the old television sets, even if it's just because they'd break on their own, and we survive just fine. So he can live without a top of the line flat screen TV." Maybe that was just her, though. Maybe it was pointless to try and say this to a man. No matter who they were, men seemed to be drawn like magnets to a few specific things; Women, beer, and flat screen TVs.

Ugh...

Galvin accepted his coffee from the waitress. He was told the chicken would only be a moment longer. Taking a sip of the hot liquid Galvin took a look around once more. His gaze fell over Kassandra and Cailee. With all of his years hunting, there wasn't any way he wouldn't recognise them as a Vampire, and oddly enough, Wizard. Though his gaze immediately left the pair, he began listening in on them. The Wizard was young, very young. If the Vampire was just putting on an act of friendlyness, the Wizard could easily fall prey. He would try not to let that happen. Though, even if the Vampire was hostile, she wouldn't attempt such a thing in public.

He must have been more hungry than he thought not to have noticed them sooner. Usually he was on high alert for Lycans, and Vampires. Sighing, Galvin took another sip of his coffee. Perhaps it was just weariness, he'd all but given up on finding the Lycan that had eluded him the past two days. Surely lack of sleep was another factor in his dulled senses. He was far from his limit though, and could still go another few without a hint of sleep. Even so, if the Vampire was hostile, it wouldn't have boded well if she went unoticed.

Of course, there was the possibility that, even though rare, the Vampire could actually be befriending the girl. Either way, it was clear she was frightened to a degree. When the waitress came by his table once more, Galvin took his small meal and thanked her. It was small, but enough chicken to keep him nourished for awhile. He took a bite before turning his attention back to the two. Though he carried few holy weapons to fight off Vampires, he had killed enough over the years to be able to fight off one. Hopefully that wouldn't be neccisary. So, he took a bite of his meal and continued listening. He kept his gaze outside though, watching for other possible enemies.

Cailee's head snapped back to the vampire, "Oh, no I don't know him," she said, not giving another glance over to the man. No way would she tell her about her recent run in with a drunken hobo, that would make her seem even more weak and childish, or so she thought. Even then, she wouldn't talk of her suspicions of the man sitting by the window. He just seemed odd to her. But, if he was some kind of supernatural creature, she would've figured it out by now.. right?

She let the matter go, finally looking directly at the vampire in front of her. She was very pretty, and Cailee noticed that most of the men in the restaurant were staring with big, hungry eyes. No wonder, the girl was wearing some very tight and revealing clothes. But, then again... Cailee sighed mentally, throwing the thought of her dress away. It was too late to obsess over her clothing now, she was already out in public, and with a vampire for heaven's sake!

Cailee kind of expected her order of coffee, she would've been a little weirded out if it had been anything else. It seemed that a lot of adults loved coffee, but she just couldn't stand the taste. She had tried it once, in attempt to seem more grown-up around her parents, but it only ended up in her spitting it out and making her parents laugh.

"So.. Uh, What's your name?" she asked, trying to make conversation. Cailee didn't know if it was a question she should of asked, but she was running out of things to say, and she couldn't stand those awkward moments. Now that she thought of it, she didn't know much about vampires at all, and her curiosity made questions swim through her head.

Kassandra nodded that she heard the girl's reply as she examined the man once more. She had sensed something off about him when she looked before, and now she had it. He was a Hunter. A vampire or lycan one was the thing she couldn't tell though. If he was out for vampires though, she was in trouble.

She was sure that if he was here to kill her kind that he'd follow her when she left. The one comfort she had now though that hopefully he wasn't stupid enough to attack her in public. She hoped that another comfort would be that he wasn't very good and she could kill him. If he was skilled, the thought of taking the girl with her crossed Kassandra's mind. It wasn't likely he wouldn't just attack her with the girl, she was a wizard after all.

Her last thought made her scowl some. What was she, a coward? No, if he wanted to fight her, like hell she'd run and hide. Hearing the Apprentice's question Kassandra looked back at her and smiled.

"Name's Kassandra, what about you?" Kassandra asked, while she made sure to keep some of her attention on the Hunter. She wasn't stupid to completely forget about him. There was still the chance he was stupid enough to attack her now after all.

Kassandra, the name became permanantly implanted in her mind as soon as it had come out of the vampire's mouth. "My name's Cailee," she said, finally smiling towards her, her dimples showing. The fact that she had told her her name, gave Cailee a boost of confidence. If she had said that much, she couldn't be too hostile, could she? It was too late, though, as Cailee's youth already set some kind of trust in this new acquaintance.

As the waitress with the straight, red hair came back with their drinks, Cailee thanked her, waiting for her to walk off before sipping the water through a bendy straw. Her mind kept racing with questions; myths she wanted Kassandra to clear up for her, things about her kind. She took a deep breath and looked around at the people in the restaurant, checking to make sure that no one was too close to hear what she was about to say.

"Do you think I could ask you some things.. You know.. About vampires?" she asked in a hushed whisper as she leant closer to Kassandra, but her curiosity took over, and she started to ask some questions anyways. "Can you turn into a bat? Do you really have no reflection?... How did you get to be a vampire.. I mean I've heard of things, but there's so many myths I don't know what to believe," then she leaned in further, a mischevious smile on her face as she asked, "Can I see your teeth?"

After a second, Cailee realized that Kassandra might not take those questions easily, so she fell back in the booth, a polite smile on her face as shee tried to make it seem less rude, "You don't have to," she said, thinking of a way for Kassandra to bea little more loose with her answers. "Here, I'll show you what I can do," Cailee smirked, grabbing the glass salt shaker that was filled only one-third of the way full. She peeked around, making sure no one was watching; if her Master found out that she was doing magic in public, she'd be dead. It was against the rules of the magic community to reveal your magic to the human race, but then again Kassandra wasn't human, so if she could keep it hidden, she should be fine.. Hopefully. She pointed her finger at the salt shaker, muttering the word 'Wind'. The pale blue stone on her ring glowed faintly for a second, and then inside the glass, salt spun around, a mini tornado of white crystals. As she looked up, with a small grin on her face, her moment of pride was interrupted by the small spray of salt flying across the table. "I haven't quite perfected it yet.. But it's getting there," she said, shrugging with a small giggle. Inside she was beating herself down for not being able to complete such an easy spell.

Kassandra didn't hold back her smirk this time. She hadn't been around kids for so long, she forgot how curious they could be. Taking the coffee cup in her hands she raised it to her lips and took a sip. It wouldn't hurt to answer the girl's questions. Not like she could do much with the information. Besides, her Master would tell her everything soon enough anyway.

Before Kassandra could reply Cailee had already began to show what she could do. After watching the display of the girl's magic with raised brows Kassandra chuckled. "Yes, it's sure getting there. But," Kassandra replaced the amusement in her eyes with seriousness. "It's not wise to practice your magic in public. Even if it looks as if no one's watching, usually someone is," she told Cailee in a slightly warning tone.

Why was she warning the girl? She wasn't really sure why herself. Was the girl rubbing off on her? Maybe, and it really wasn't such a bad thing. It wasn't like Cailee could bring real harm to her, and hey, it'd be good to have a wizard on her side, even if she was only an Apprentice.

Taking another sip of her coffee Kassandra smiled. "I'll tell you whatever you want to know, don't worry about it. To answer your first question, of course not!" Kassandra snorted some, "You think someone my size can turn into a bat?" She shook her head.

"I have a reflection if I want one, and for your next question," Kassandra rose a brow, "you wanna experience first hand?" She leaned in closer to Cailee, a smirk playing on her lips. "I'll show you my teeth in the process, so how about it?"

"Don't worry, my friend. I was only kidding. Your breath isn't rancid, and I do not question your pickle theory," William tried to calm Marco down, and if he were closer to him, a nice pat on the back would've been delivered. William never meant any harm when he was joking around, and sometimes his friend's high ego was forgotten in the midst of his humor, he always tried deliver a mood that cut through the seriousness and made people enjoy themselves. It worked for some better than others, though, and he easily took the bottle back, shoving it into his pocket.

Turning to Tasha, he finished Marco's directions, "Yes, I dug a pit for the fire a short ways into the woods behind the house. I'm so glad that everyone's looking forward to this get together," he said, the last part directed to everyone, moreso than Tasha only. "Remember, Tasha, you took the responsibility, so now I'm counting on you!" he said in a fatherly tone, "Marshmallows are a big part of the bonfire experience!" William's smile became wide once again. This whole event turned out to be a great idea; what with all of the pack joining in on a relaxing fire, telling stories, chatting, it was bound to be a good time.

William wrapped an arm around Artesia's slim waist, taking her silence as a yes for their later plans. He could feel her lightly shiver, knowing that he would've reacted in a similar way if it were her lips up to his ear. He was itching to spend some time alone with her, since it had been a while since they were left alone by the rest of the members of the pack, but such a desire could wait for later on. The temptation was still clear in his conscience, but his will power was great enough for such an urge, not to mention his food cooking in the kitchen.

This is no white cross, it seems we're out of class...
"Oooh, sounds like you ran into a couple of Rotts. They seem to like going after blonds. Ange got chased home by one for a whole year." He chuckled to himself at the memory of seeing her running down the street yelling "Mal! Heeeeeeelp!" Good times. "You don't look like the Pomeranian type. Definitely not a Chihuahua. I'd say..." he looked at her, his finger to his chin, and finally said, "A Lab. Definitely a Lab."

"Don't get me wrong, she was going to leave anyway. And she startled me! The fact that she startled me and I didn't hit her is good. Don't I get credit for that?" he asked. As they looked at the TV and the pathetic man in front of it, he nodded at her comment. "I don't feel bad at all. He should've gotten a better quality TV." A sound similar to a surge of electricity passed him, and the light in the room went out. "Maybe then he'd have enough money to get more lightbulbs."

"I guess we should move on before everything in the house explodes." With that, he turned to continue on the way they were walking. "Now I'm starting to feel sorry for him."

We all are fragile, like statues made of sand...

Cailee's smile withered as Kassandra warned her about using her magic in public. She sounded like her Master lecturing her, it was slightly bothersome, especially since she heard it almost everyday. Why she didn't listen, was only a matter of her rebellious pride. The most suspicious thing about it, was the fact that Kassandra was actually warning her. Did that mean she was looking out for her? Just the thought of that being a possibility softened her expression. One thing that was good about being young was the way an adult's first glance at her made her seem somewhat innocent and vulnerable, even though she would heftily disagree.

Cailee had to admit to herself, she was kind of disappointed when Kassandra told her that vampires couldn't turn into bats. She was hoping that myth was true. It was one of those childhood stories about vampires that she would always hear about. Dracula could turn into a bat, why couldn't other vampires? The concept was really cool; poofing into a bat out of the blue and flying off into the sky like that. Cailee wished that her wings worked that way, but they shattered every time she tried.

As for Kassandra's answer to her reflection question, Cailee was confused. Her thin eyebrows drew together as she tried to think about how such a thing worked. How was she able to have a reflection if she wanted one? Was there more to a vampire than just quickness and sharp teeth? She was about to ask how, but Kassandra went on offering her a first hand experience.

"Uh.." Cailee said, backing up in her seat as Kassandra leaned towards her. She didn't know exactly what she meant by experiencing it first hand, but by the look on her face and the tone in her voice, it didn't sound very fun. "I think I'll pass on that offer.." she said, declining her offer in a meek voice.
