Meeting JolietteQuote: Amaya lay on a towel on the beach, her headphones blaring Black Betty into her ears. Her head bobbed as she lay with her legs propped up and her large feet bobbing. She was just wearing her swimsuit this time, letting her scales absorb as much sun as they could for the time being. Even though basking in her room warmer her, the thought of letting the sun do it was getting increasingly better in her mind. Green eyes remained closed as she basked in the hot afternoon sun, oblivious to her surroundings. Quote: Joliette had abandoned her armchair by early morning and gone wandering, by now she was, well... lost. Well ok maybe not completely lost, she knew she was on the island, and she knew she was coming up on a beach, but beyond that she didn't really know where she had wound up. She stopped on the sand not quite realizing she was near anyone as she looked throught eh viewfinder of her camera out into the ocean Quote: The young girl still didn't seem to notice Joliette's pressance, her eyes still closed and her head and feet tapping to the beat that blared through her headphones. Quote: Joliette let her camera down and looked around, the sound of hte music had seemed almost faint but she came to realize it wasn't all that far from her when she saw the headphones the girl wore "Uhm, hello?" she said walking a little closer Quote: Getting the feeling she was being approached, Amaya opened her eyes and looked up at Joliette. Who was...? She squinted before her eyes widdened, a screech coming from her mouth as she grabbed her towel and used it to hide herself. It wasn't her modesty thing kicking in... well, kind. But this women looked new and the last thing she needed was having to 'spill the beans' to another person. Awen was enough. The headphones had fallen off and now hung around her neck, blaring the music into the open air before the young girl reached over into her pupkin shaped bookbag and turned it off. Quote: Joliette looked a startled, not to mention like she hadn't gotten much sleep. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you" she said in ther british accent. She sounded a bit shy as she spoke. Quote: "N-No... it's okay." Well, she didn't seem to be flipping out over her very evident scales yet... Lowering her towel, she wrapped it around her waist and stood up shakily. Her new feet didn't like the sand at all. "Uhm... guess your new here, eh?" Her accent was one from the States, probably generating from Pennsylvania since she seemed to link her words together as she spoke and sometimes cut them out alltogether. Quote: "Yes, I am new here" she admitted with a nod of her head, she didn't think much about the scales, to Joliette, she was another actress, though the whole thing was becoming rather confusing "I'm a photo journalist, found this island yesterday" Quote: "Photo journalist...?" Amaya raised a brow, only vaugly knowing what that was... but that wasn't the point. Did she just say she had... found this island? She looked surprised and blinked at Joliette. "Wait, did you just say you FOUND this island? How?" Quote: Joliette looked out towards the water "On my boat, heard rumors that disapperances around this area weren't just plain disappearances. Though I must admit the one that drew my interest the most was Mr DiRossi. Quite intersting to discover a movie in production" she nodded Quote: "Boat?" Amaya's eyes went to saucers but then she physically deflated. Moreau had probably already taken the boat away and had it distroyed... dammit. She slumped and sighed. So this women came here for a scoop and got sucked in like everyone else; how sad. And to make matters worse, she thought this place was a danm MOVIE set. ugh, just like Vasile. Poor lady. "So they told you all of this is a movie? I'm guessing they gave you a script, too." Quote: She nodded and looked back to the young lady "Yes, on both counts" she confirms "Should make an intersting story, though I'm certain many will be upset to learn the star faked his death" she was sounding a lil more confident, it's how she always was when it came to her work, confident and perfectionist... Quote: Sighing, Amaya plopped back down on the sand and let her arms cross over her knees. Her long toes played in the sand much like fingers would if they had less joints. "Poor Vasile... they think he's dead." She frowned, thinking. "Do you know what their saying out there about a collage student named Ambrose?" Quote: Joliette quirked a brow, it was that name again, the name Vasile had said "No, I'm not familiar with that name" she says scratching her chin in thought. "Well not before arriving here at least, Mr. DiRossi mentioned having to go get him while I was on my boat" Quote: Danm. Poor Ambrose. Amaya slumped even more and let her chin rest on her scaly arms. "Oh well, no hurt in asking I suposse." With another sigh, she looked back up at Joliette. "So what did they say to get you off your boat?" Quote: "Off my boat? Oh, I was offered an exclusive, I have several rolls of film but an exclusive on an upcoming movie, now that is worth some good money, it's something I can sell to the highest bidder" Joliette smiled at that thought Quote: Amaya tried to refrain from sighing again. "I see... did they by chance give you an injection?" She held out her arm and pointed to where she had been given her's. Quote: Joliette's smile slipped "I most certainly hope not, I turned down the immunization Mr Sabin offered me, I do not believe in those, I am a vegan through and through" she nods seriously. Quote: "Well, did you check your arm? Or did it hurt afterwards or did you have any weird dreams? That's what happened when they gave me mine." Amaya blinked, a brow raised. Quote: She stares at the young woman for a moment "Weird... dreams..." she visibly paled, how would this young woman possibly know what had kept her awake almost half the night. But then... she had blacked out, she didn't know what HAD happened and how they had made her better... Quote: Amaya frowned as she watched the woman pale and immediantly felt bad for bringing all this down on her when it probably was only her second or third day on the island. "Check your arm." She spoke softly, not wanting to act TOO casual about it for fear of her thinking it a joke. And she was generally concerned for her. Quote: Joliette's mind snapped back to attention when she was spoken to again, and with hesitation she turned her head and lifted her arm pushing the already short sleeeve a little higher up her arm . Indeed almost like a spider bit a small inflamed area was on her arm "How dare he... " she said incredulously Quote: "Thought so. They probably called it an immunization for Dengue Fever or something like that, right?" The young girl asked, her eyes going back up to Joliette. Quote: She nodded "Yes, after I started to get sick in the meeting with Mr Sabin... He said there was a particularly bad strain of it going around" She felt an almost overwhelming need to sit down and moved to sit on the nearest chunk of driftwood Quote: "I see..." Amaya looked back down to her feet as she shoved them in and out of the sand, letting the tiny grains shift through her toes. "I know you won't believe me if I tell you thr truth, but will you hear me out anyway?" She looked back at Joliette. Quote: "Yes.. I'll hear you out, you've seemed so far the most stright forward one I hav emet save for the blue haired young woman.. Awen is it? He was screaming at Hargun and them last night..." She looked a lil dazed but alert enough to listen Quote: Awen yelled at Hargun? Uh-oh... she'd have to go ask her batty friend later what exactly happened. But first she needed to tend to the new resident. "Well, this isn't a movie. Doctor Moreau is slowly bringing people here for his stupid... medical research where he gradually turns people into animals. He lies to them to reel them in, in your case it was a movie set. He gave you the same script they gave Vasile to trick him too, I'm guessing. It'll be hard to believe, but any sane person wouldn't believe what I'm saying anyway... so I won't be offended if you don't." Amaya paused for a moment to take a breath. "I was brought here in hopes this was some kind of retreat for orphaned teenagers. It wasn't, obviously." Quote: Joliette stared digesting all this information "Are you meaning to tell me the costumes I've seen... aren't costumes? and.. who is Doctor Moreau? I've never met anyone by that name" she looked flabbergasted, and as though she was trying to justify this in her mind Quote: "Yeah, look. These are my REAL feet." Amaya held up her elongated toes and curled them, then reached up with her clawed fingers and pulled at them. "My feet. My claws. My scales. All of it's real. I even have a lizard tounge. I'm not sure if they can prostetic that in the real world yet." She stuck her large, pink tounge out to show her just long enough before drawing it back in. Amaya could taste Joliette's surprise and confusion, which made her wince. "And Doctor Moreau is the guy who's got us all trapped here. He's the one doing all this to us." Quote: Her mind replayed everything she had seen the day before, the star with his silvery grey tail and patches of fur, Hargun with her 'costume', the guy named Ian with his little.. antlers? Awen well she seemed normal in her mind and then there was the Dude, his hands hadn't looked or felt normal when he grabbed her hand to pull her towards the beach "That would explain everyones desire to find my boat..." she nearly whispered Quote: "Definatly." Amaya nodded and drew her legs to her chest, hugging them. "Boat means a way to get off this stupid island. A lot of people Moreau has brought here have families back home... and Vasile had been tricked here for some reason because I guess people wanted to get rid of him. That's why they say he's dead, prolly. Were stuck on this island the rest of our lives." Quote: Joliette nodded "I have family, but just my parents and granparents" she tells the girl with a soft sigh "I'm Joliette by the way" she says realizing she never had said her name and regardless of her British accent the name sounded very french ((Jooleeai)) Quote: "Amaya." She held out her scaly hand to offer a handshake, but didn't say anything about her own family. Quote: After a moment of looking a thte hand Joliette took it in her own and gave her a solid handshake. "So animals, and whatever they gave me will do it to me... too?" she sounded nervous Quote: Amaya nodded gravly and went back to her curled up sitting position after shaking her hand. "Yeah, happens to everyone. I dunno exactly what I'm supossed to be but it looks like a lizard. I'm even cold-blooded now... which is why I was out here in the sun basking." Quote: She nodded "Guess it helps you dont have to deal with much cool weather then..." she bit her lip, this whole conversation was beginning to put all her confusion into focus and she didn't like the results "Is everyone different animals then?" Quote: "True and yeah, as far as I know. You said you met Mister Dude and Hargun, right? Hargun is some kind of bat and Dude is a sealion." Quote: She nodded and looked at her arm again involuntarily sivering "ironic..." she mused "I've believed immunizations were cruel to animals ever since I became a vegan... " Quote: "And now that immunization is turning you into one." Amaya sighed, letting her shoulders hunch. Quote: "Yeah.." she looked at her camera again "You know... if I'm stuck here, maybe I can find a way to use my skills to a good use..." she remembered the silly playful pose of Hargun that would still be on the roll of film inside her camera Quote: "How so?" Amaya blinked and looked back at Joliette, interested. Quote: "Well you said everyone is changing, I'm gathering from your expression and the scene I witnessed in the cafeteria last night people dont like that, if I had some way to develope my film, like a dark room or something perhaps I could give people an extra way to remember how they once were" She was thinking and pondering this Quote: "Some people already have that. I have a picture of how I used to look in my room and in this." Amaya held up her locket, but didn't open it. "Ambrose has a picture of himself with his girlfriend too." Quote: Joliette nodded she wasn't sure what to say, she guessed she'd have to think that one more through before bringing it up again "Yeah.." she sighed and looked towards the water "Now I regret my curiousity for a good story, and my perfectionist side as well" Quote: "Even though it's hard, try not to think about it." Amaya stood up and grabbed her backpack before putting it on. "I find that's the best way for me to handle things." She gave the woman a slightly forced smile and patted her shoulder. "I'm gonna head off and leave you to your thinking. I'm in duplex 20 if you need anything or want to talk." Quote: "Yes Thanks, I appreciate your forward honesty, I'm in 27," she looked up at Amaya, have a decent day" she nods Quote: "You too. See ya around." With one last wave, Amaya headed back to her duplex.

Meeting Anjali & Chubbs(Amaya has to break the news to Chubbs)Amaya Vaughan Amaya sat peacfully on the beach, her legs drawn up to her chest as her scaley arms hung around them. Her chin was burried between her knees and she looked sort of depressed even though she wasn't particularly. The headphones she normally wore were gone for now as she let the sun warm her scales. There was probably another hour or so of sunlight before she would either have to call it a night or put on the black hoodie that lay by her side. She had brought it purposfully just in case. It had been a long time since she had sat out and watched the stars... tonight she wanted to see if she could force herself to stay outside long enough. Anjali Frangipani In an effort to get away from her work - not that she minded it, just that she had a tendency to get wrapped up in it - Anjali had made her way down to the beach. Clad in a simple yellow sarong with a bathing suit underneath just in case, she walked only a few steps before kicking off her flip-flop sandals. It was rather nice, really - captivity aside. One might as well have a gilded cage if one must be trapped, after all...
Anjali's thoughts were interrupted by her realization that she was not alone. At first glance she didn't recognize the other woman, but... "Excuse me... is this sand taken?" she asked, smiling at her and indicating the beach next to Amaya. Jamal_Reedy It had seemed as though another was out and about on the beach and he had come with what Amaya had not brought: headphones and a shiny MP3 player clipped to his jean pockets. He'd come from further down the beach, supposedly walking the shoreline in bare feet, jeans, and just his pendants up top. He had a semi-farmer's tan: long hours in the sun wearing a tanktop had left strap marks on his broad shoulders where he was a darker, richer brown than usual. The black man was warbling along to some rap music as he tromped down the beach, oblivious to anyone nearby, stopping occasionally to wade up to his knees (pant legs were rolled up to mid-cafe) and admire the waves and whatnot. He did this in front of Amaya and Anjali and was not really aware they were there until he turned around and nearly fell backwards, surprised. Smooth...oh yeah. Amaya Vaughan "Huh?" The young girl blinked and then smiled at the woman she had yet to met. "No, not at all." She was glad for the company, even though she wasn't sure if this woman knew what was really going on or not. She didn't seem to stare at the enormous amount of scales trailing down her arms or her rather disfigured feet though, so she just hoped for the best.
Amaya watched Jamal in silence, stiffling a laugh as he jumped. That always happened to her when she wore headphones too. She raised her long, clawed fingers to give him a tiny wave. Last time she had seen him was at the Halloween party and he thought her scales were costume... she just pleaded that he had been informed since then. She couldn't take telling people the truth. Anjali Frangipani "Oh, good." Anjali smiled at Amaya and settled herself in the sand, wriggling her toes in as she sat down. "My name is Anjali... and you are?"
She blinked as she noticed Jamal, then had to stifle a laugh as the big man jammed his way down the beach without any notice of them until he was right there. "You must have some enthralling music there, to have it beat this view," she said with a grin. Jamal_Reedy Jamal gave both women an accusatory look, but it was mostly in jest. "Ya'll tryin' ta scare a brotha' mo' than he be already?" he quipped as the headphones were pulled down to rest around his neck and he pushed the pause button on the player. "Hidin' up in da....uh....sand?" Okay, so...bad attempt to try and brush off his startlement. The clawed wave only brought a slight wince, but that was all. He was forcing himself to get used to the idea that animal-like people were running all over the place and he was going to join the ranks eventually. He forced a nonchalant look though and squinted his eyes. "You be at da hall'ween party, righ'?" Then his eyes shifted to Anjali, whom he also squinted at, but did so longer than he had to Amaya. "s**t, dis music all old...ain't got no way to get new stuff, but it a'ight," he said with a shrug as he regained a normal expression instead of a squinty stare one. "Now, I ain't 'memberin' yous befo', so I 'pologize...what be yo name?" Amaya Vaughan "Names Amaya." She smiled up at the new woman, who seemed to be very nice even though she had just met her. Amaya could hear the beat of the music even though he was a few feet away and could tell what it was. Yuck, rap was one of the few genres she hated... but oh well, to each their own.
"Yeah, I was at the Halloween party." She gave a nod, barely noticing the wince. Small things like that she had taught herself to ignore in her time after her change. "Your Jamal, right? Friends with Awen?" Green eyes looked up at him as he approached slowly, her arms wrapping back around her legs as she dug her toes into the sand. Anjali Frangipani "A pleasure," Anjali said warmly to Amaya, trying not to stare at the woman's odd features - obviously a change had overtaken her, though she wasn't sure what serum had been used on the other girl.
In contrast, the man ... well, he seemed normal, she realized, after she'd caught herself staring at him searching for the animal features she was sure had to be there somewhere. What a reversal.. but no, he seemed unchanged. Like her. "I am Anjali, the groundskeeper here," she said, pleasantly, holding one hand up for a handshake, wiggling her toes deeper into the sand. "I have been here for some time, but... ah... we don't celebrate All Hallow's Eve in quite the same way where I came from, so I did not attend that celebration. Jamal_Reedy "Yeah, dat's righ'," he said with a nod and smile as he sort of haphazardly wandered in their direction while glancing at and tinkering with his musical equipment until he was about to trip over their outstretched legs. The black man had enough common sense to flash a look of apology as he realized he probably sprayed sand about as he scuffed along, then flopped in the sand in front of them to form a triangle-like arrangement. Anjali's outstretched hand was taken and he shook it, not being one to do the old 'kiss the hand' type deal that lots of guys did. "Ah, I git it. I ain't been herr so long either...as ya probably kin see." The latter was said with a sort of grudging tone to it, emphasizing his knowledge on the real deal at the island. Amaya Vaughan Ah good, so he knew. That was a comfort. Judging by Anjali's reactions, she probably knew as well.
Though oddly enough, she didn't feel comfortable around them. She felt out of place and oddly naked, being the only one out of the three that had changed at all. Normally there was at least one other person around who had gone through the same thing.
Trying to shake these thoughts off, she looked between the two. "Nice to meet you two... how have you been?" Anjali Frangipani "Ah... so you're also one of the... ah, rest of us," Anjali frowned at Jamal. "I had been hoping... but, then, it seems from what I've gleaned from the others that if someone isn't with us... they're against us. Only our captors retain true humanity." She shook her head. "Let's have it straight out, my friends - what's happening to each of you? Are either of you turning into a plant?" she asked, hopefully. Jamal_Reedy Jamal leaned forward, arms crossed and propped on his knees to get comfy. At Amaya's question, he looked a little leery and perhaps a little disheartened. "Ah...well, doin' betta then a few days 'go. Ran into..." he paused, trying to remember the crazy bird lady's name...Gwen? Oh, no, Greer. He was never going to keep everyone's names straight. "Ran into Greer n' dat wolf guy. Ambrose, yeah? Well, what'eva...fact is I weren't so ready to see dat sorta thing." He sighed and ran a hand over the top of his doo-rag and shook his head. "Bad night...but I bet yous knowin' how dat be." Jamal tried to be sensitive about the topic, but he wasn't always so good. Anjali recieved a look of alarm and he leaned back, face alight with panic. "Wait, yous tellin' me people be turnin' into plants?! " Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs had started to get himself ready for the upcoming match he had with lord knows who. He found the beach was quiet when he was here with Colche it would be a good spot to run. He needed a good few laps up and down the sand to get him back to working order, too many twinkies and cigarettes had him a little worse for wear. He had his pants rolled up and sleeves as well, he didnt like his shoes, they were steel cap boots, and they were the only pair he could afford, they were a little small and long periods wearing them would squash his toes. Chubbs ran along the sand, trying to gain speed if he could. Coming around a corner of the beach he spied people there. He hated running in front of people they usually just stared and whispered like he was some freak. One was a guy, he looked like he could have been one of the fighters he was against. So Chubbs decided not to show him any weakness and sprinted as best he could, looking like he hadn't seen them. A glint caught his eye and he peered sidways, one of the girls he was talking to had scales on her, not alot but they were there. Chubbs found himself staring a little and wondered how long halloween lasted exactly. Just then he felt his foot catch on some drift wood and he came crashing down " Son of a Bifffmfmffff" Face down into the sand Amaya Vaughan "Plant?" Amaya would have laughed if the thought of turning into a plant didn't scare her so much. "No, I highly doubt it. I think I'm turning into some sort of lizard... I don't know for sure yet." She then looked at Jamal, having no idea what exactly happened at the cafeteria, but chalked it up to seeing two people having turned 50%. "Ah, I see." Amaya left it at that, neither of them probably wanted to dive into the subject.
Having not even noticed the large man before he fell, she jumped with a start as her eyes went wide. "Oh god!" Jumping up, she ran over to him, lifting one of his arms with a LOT of effort and a grunt. "Are... are you okay?!" Anjali Frangipani Anjali stared at both Amaya and Jamal. "You mean... they haven't told you what experiment they're performing on you? Really?" She was shocked - this went against every bit of laboratory ethics she'd been taught. Well.. the entire thing did, but for some reason this rated a bit of extra surprise. "I... I know what I'm turning into. A sundew. Yes, that's a plant," she added, to forestall any questions.
Then she turned around in surprise as something fell - and she scrambled to her knees as well, startled. "Goodness - are you quite well?" she asked, concerned, but not getting up since Amaya seemed to have things well in hand. No need to mob the man. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs heard voices around him, nice ones seeming concerned. This place was so odd, so many nice people, if it weren't for the kids he'd never leave. Though right now he wished he was an ostrich to bury his head in the sand. He sat himself up, eyes closed till he could get the sand away from his eyes. " By mimn mow bey were fervin fand for wunch" He sputtered some of the sand in his mouth, even in the situation he was in, his humour reflex still kicked in. He tried to chuckle while getting the sand from his face. Amaya Vaughan Amaya laughed slightly, holding the man's free arm as she stood to try and help him up even though she had to hold it up with both arms. "Y'alright?" The thought that he was new around didn't occure to her yet, the fact he had just fallen flat on his face over-concerning that. Anjali Frangipani Anjali chuckled - whoever this big man was, he had a sense of good humour about him. "That was quite an entrance," she said, smiling at him as she settled back in the sand. "Are you alright? I'm Anjali, by the way," she said, offhand. Three introductions in as many minutes, my. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs chuckled and dusted his face, clearing his mouth of sand as he heard Anjali introduce himself. His cheeks already red from blushing. " Hold on, lemme just see if i got sand in my eye" He opened his eyes slowly, then blinked a bit, making sure. It was fine to see, and he turned to closely look at his carers. Woa! Chubbs pondered if he was cursed to look like an a** in front of every attractive girl he saw. Both of them were very pretty, and he found himself redder than before. Like most cases, humour was replaced by nervousness like a smack to the back of the head. " Oh umm G'day... ah... which.. er.. Anjali?" The girl that helped him up, he could see the scales now, he found himself glancing alot, and pondered if him and Colche hung out alot. Amaya Vaughan "Good to see your alright." Amaya smiled and then took a seat, having wanted to shake his hand but had the thought finally occure to her that he was new and it would probably make him stare at her more so then he already was. "Names Amaya." She forced a tiny smile before tucking her legs to her chest and hugging her arms underneath them, digging her long toes into the sand. She really... really didn't want to tell another person. Anjali Frangipani Anjali nodded, faintly puzzled - but, then again, she'd be rattled if she'd had a fall like that. "Yes, and you are?" she said, politely. "And, to get that out of the way, do you know what you're turning into yet? Animal, plant?" Finding that Amaya and Jamal didn't know was rather worrisome.... but then, Sean had known, as had Ambrose. Hm.
It had never crossed Anjali's mind that anyone would NOT know, period, about what was happening... Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked between them, smiling somewhat in his polite ways. He told himself not to say anything stupid, but then, how could he embaress himself further than now? " Amaya, and ah Anjali... i'll um try to remember them" Chubbs brushed himself down a bit, trying to get the sand off him. " Oh my name... it's ...it's Chubbs" He picked up his cap and dusted it off carefully, it was his favourite and lucky cap, he didnt want to see it worn out too much. " Turning into?..." Chubbs looked up and then made himself comfortable in the sand, looking between the two quizically. He thought he finally caught on, but had to make sure. " Umm is ther like.. some costume party I missed hearin about. Cuz um.. I'm still new here and... ah.. met like two.. no three people... no wait!, both you that makes five. Um well anyway, there was this girl in like cat stuff annd I think she's not too well. But umm.. well you look good though" He motioned to Amaya with a smile think blinked " Not that I mean you know that you're hot.. but well you are just.. ah.. oh... I didn't say anything!" Chubbs put his hands over his face and hoped meteorites were aiming for him. Amaya Vaughan Amaya blinked in surprise at Anjali's directness, eyes widdening as she looked up at her.
She couldn't help but laugh at Chubbs he was pretty funny in a cute, nervous way.
Though her smile quickly faded as she let out a sigh. "No, it's not a costume party or anything... I guess no one has told you?" She looked up, not really surprised. She would be the barer of bad news AGAIN. Anjali Frangipani Anjali looked startled, then frowned in Amaya's direction. "You mean... they don't tell you right off...?" Well, no... she hadn't been told either. She'd had to go and ask. But once she'd asked, they'd told her alright - why wouldn't any of these people just ask the doctors if they were faced with such odd things? It had worked for her!
She realized Chubbs was waiting for some kind of answer. "Ah..." She shot Amaya a pleading look. How did you go about this? Unlike Sean, she had no changes to point to as proof. Nothing at all. "I... Amaya, could you..." she said with a sigh, promising inwardly to make it up to the girl later. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs rubbed his face, widhing the red would come off, then as he listened to them, he heard a twinge of seriousness in their voices. He peered curiously at them. " Um.. something the matter? Amaya Vaughan "They don't tell anyone straight off unless you ask. A lot of people are too scared to... I know I am." Amaya then looked from Chubbs then Anjali and back again with a sigh. She really, REALLY didn't want to do this. Chubbs seemed like a REALLY nice guy... she didn't want to crush whatever hopes the lie they had given him created. But like she had noticed before, she was the only one around with changes to prove her point.
With a deep, heavy sigh, Amaya's shoulders visably slumped and she curled tighter into a ball. "Whatever they told you to get you to come here was a lie. They're just raking people in with false jobs and promises so they can make you vanish. The immunization they gave you was fake... it's actually a starter to a process that... changes you into an animal... see?" She went to raise her foot from the sand, but stopped short, burying her head in her arms and forcing it up so he could see.
Amaya just wanted to cry, but couldn't bring herself to as she curled her long, disfigured toes in front of him to show they weren't fake. "You can even pull on them and my scales. Their real. I'm turning into some kind of lizard." Her voice was muffled by her knees, but she kept from looking up. Green eyes didn't want to witness the look of dred or his reaction after realization hit. Anjali Frangipani Anjali felt suddenly very guilty indeed about leaving it all to Amaya, and she quickly got up to lay one hand on the girl's shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze. "It's true," she said, defensively, almost glaring at Chubbs, daring him to call Amaya a liar when it had obviously taken so much for her to say what she had. "Even though you can't tell with me, because I haven't reached that point yet... it's true. There are others in the village who are further along, Chubbs... you can see for yourself..." Her voice trailed off, and she merely squeezed Amaya's shoulder again. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs listened, and listened well, and blinked. That was some joke they were telling, he knew if he looked at any time that he believed them and asked " really?", they'd laugh and points and say " fooled you". He raised a brow, turning people into animals? but how? He looked down at the clawed feet of Amaya, it was too good, it was there, in his face. How could it be? Why didnt people stop this? It hit him, when he spoke to Jolieete, they were really stuck here andhe joked about it. It was all too much to sink in at once, it felt so damn unreal, yet Colche and Amaya just slapped the truth in his face. He keeped looking between the two girls, waiting, hoping now that they were joking, his face wearing disbelief. Amaya though seemed upset, she almost sounded though she would cry. And Anjali, she looked angry at him, for what?, not knowing what was going on? He bit his lip, he didn't want people upset, it's the worse thing to see. Chubbs did what he thought was best for now, hoping that under the circumstances, it was the right thing to do. And he got up and hugged them both. " I'm sorry" Amaya Vaughan Amaya's body shuddered and she wanted nothing more then to dive into Anjali and bawl her eyes out... but for now her eyes were dry, unable to get a single tear.
Then Chubbs hugged her and uttered something she had heard a lot of recently. But this time it... it was...
She face scrunched up and she hugged him back, burrying her head in his large shoulder and grasping the back of his shirt in her clawed fingers, bursting into uncontrolable tears. Anjali Frangipani Anjali was surprised at the big man's reaction, to say the least - but she allowed the hug for a few seconds, before gracefully stepping aside and leaving it all to Amaya. The younger girl needed it far, far more than she did at this point.
"I'm sorry," she said, meaning the apology for Amaya and Chubbs both, as she hovered awkwardly nearby. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked up at Anjali, seeing her move away. Maybe she didn't want it, but it's all he could do to express himself. His eyes got a bit watery, he felt a little rejected. Amaya though hugged him back and he looked down at her. She was crying and he didn't want her to, he wanted to make it all better. He sniffed, swallowed hard, and finally took a breath. He wrapped his arms about the girl and petted her back. It still felt so unreal, but what he saw before him was, not the scales, but the tears. Chubbs' mouth openned, he wanted to speak, something that'd help, something that'd make her not cry anymore. He took a chance, wishing his good natured humour might cheer her up a bit. " At least ya better looking than me?" Amaya Vaughan Through her tears she managed a smile and coughed between them, an odd form of laughing she had developed whenever she was crying. After sniffling a bit, she finally broke the hug, using the palms of her hands to wipe at her eyes. "S-Sorry... I c-cry too much." She was still trying to speak through sobs, the last bit of tears falling from her eyes. Anjali Frangipani "You have a right to cry," Anjali said firmly to Amaya, then smiled at Chubbs. "Thank you for your kindness, sir. I hope this won't be too much of a shock." Of course it would be. How could it not? But for the sake of politeness, she could pretend. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs, smiled, but sadly. She had laughed a bit, he was happy for that, for now he'd be here for her till he wasn't needed. He looked up at Anjali, trying his best to listen though his mind was racing. He petted Amaya's back and smiled shyly at Anjali. " Well ... it is.... I don't think my hearts beating" He smiled sadly again, always humour to obscure his other feelings. Thoughts kept popping in to his mind, what was this place, what was he to become, why was everyone here? He'd thought he'd ask. " Why haven't people been told?" Amaya Vaughan Amaya sniffled and smiled at Anjali. She was right... but crying all the time when other could hold it in still made her feel like a weakling. Ambrose had said they all have to be brave... she had to be brave. Of course that was easier said then done since she was actually scared shitless.
To Chubbs' question she shrugged. "I think the staff just likes to give us all the hard work and have to handle all the emotional drama that comes with it." She slumped, but was grateful for the comforting the large man was giving her and it helped her calm down. "I've had to tell... three people, I think." Anjali Frangipani "And would they have gotten you here if they'd told you the truth - you can't ever leave and you'll be transformed into a beast or plant or god only knwos what else?" Anjali added, gently, then shook her head. "While I suppose it might be interesting to some people... I know I didn't come here with that intention. I assume nobody else did either." Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs slowly let go of Amaya, he felt she may not like him hanging onto her all day, but he listened to her and saddened, Still petting her back for comfort, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a twinkie in a sealed wrapper, it had survived the spill. Chubbs placed it in her hand with a small smile, twinkies made lots of things better. " I'm sorry.. I didn't know... I didn't mean.. for ya.. to like.. do it again" Chubbs pondered now on the fact that he was here and that he was going to change. Into what? he had seen two people with different looks. He looked up to Anjali as she spoke. " There's a girl... um.. a kinda strange girl... no..not in looks I mean" He couldn't help but blush thinking about the day before " She was very happy, um... Colche I think she was" Chubbs nodded, finding it odd he remembered a name. Then he blinked and loooked to them both " Oh and I meant, ah.. why hasn't anyone..you know... called like police?" Amaya Vaughan The young girl blinked and looked at the twinkie, thinking the gesture really weird but sweet. Giving a small laugh, she unwrapped it and popped one side into her mouth. Her new tastebuds didn't like it very much, but she used to like twinkies and it would be rude to not eat it.
Hearing Colche's name, she perked up. "Oh, Colche?" She smiled. "She's really sweet, I think she was abused before she came here though so... she would seen kind of weird, I guess." The thought of her being sexually abused was still kind of a touchy subject, so she didn't bring it up.
As for his other question, she shrugged. Removing the twinkie once more, she spoke only what she could guess. "They might be paying people off to keep it a secret. What they're doing isn't exactly legal... and we don't have any way to contact people ourselves." Anjali Frangipani "I haven't met anyone called Colche, I'm afraid," Anjali said, shaking her head. "And... well, if anyone could find a working phone, or a radio or any means of communication... we would. But... well." She sighed, then smiled wearily at both of them.
"I'm sorry, I'm getting a bit hungry ... I'm going to head in to get some food from the cafeteria. But it was lovely meeting you, Amaya, Chubbs. My home is in number 17, please don't hesitate to visit if you'd ever like." She inclined her head graciously to them before unearthing her flip-flops and heading back to the village. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs thought about the marks he had seen on Colche and what Amaya said about her, it really did look that way. " Yeah.. the was um, a lil pushy and a bit over friendly, .. umm she had these scars all over her ..." Chubbs cut himself short, and stopped the motion of his hand going up and down his fron. He cheeks fired red once more and realised what he was saying. He blessed all things holy that Anjali took the attention as she said her good byes. " Umm.. nice to meet you too... ermm, sorry bout the hug" He bit his lower lip, hoping she heard it as she left. Then with a shy smile he turned back to Amaya Amaya Vaughan "Bye Anjali, it was really nice meeting you." Amaya smiled and waved with her free hand as the woman left. Number 17... she'd have to remember that. Wait, didn't that mean she had been here longer then her and still haden't changed? ... Then again, she was supossedly turning into a plant, so it probably haden't worked. How would it?
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure she was... sexually abused before they brought her here. Considering that, she's been really happen and stuff ever since she came here. I guess now she's just starting to learn what the world is." She finished off half of her twinkie, not seeming to notice his blush... afterall, to even look up at him she had to crane her neck rather far since he was well over a foot taller then her and probably five times as big.
"So uh... what did they tell you to get you to come here?" Amaya asked, finally craning her neck to look up at him, the half of a twinkie stiking from her mouth. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs sighed and rested his arms on his knee's, thinking about Colche. Part of him wanted to be where the people responsible for her were and beat the living s**t out of them till his hands bled. " Need to teach her that clothes are spose to be worn" Chubbs looked up at Amaya and wondered if the shock would ever die down, it really did feel like his heart had stopped. He needed a drink. He pulled out his wallet from his back pocket and opened it up, showing Amaya the picture inside. " I came here for them" He held it out to her for her to take if she wanted a closer look. It was starting to sink in now, he was never going to see them again, and if he did, it'd not be him they saw. " I needed the money to build a place to train them, all I'm good at is fighting, I was offered a boxing match with a large sum to help me out" Amaya Vaughan Amaya couldn't help but laugh slightly while finishing the twinkie. Well, at least she knew she could still tolerate sugary things. It didn't bother her much that Colche was nude to her either, since well... she was a girl. Blinking, she looked at the photo...
Her heart sank. "That's... awful." She looked down at her disfigured feet, wrapping her arms around her knees. "I'm sure they'll miss you..." She paused. "I wish they would only bring people here like me. No one to miss them when they're gone. It would make things so much easier on people." Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs sat himelf in the same position, it looked awkward but it felt good to him. " I'm sure you are missed, even if you think you are not. And... umm to look at a brighter, well er.. side to things, maybe the people here, well... they need you." Chubbs was hoping what he said made sense, he didn't tend to make much in front of a girl. " What I mean is.. well umm look at me.. if you hadn't been here, I might have had a heart attack finding out some other way" He smiled lightly and rested his chin on his arms, looking over her scales " Did it hurt?" Amaya Vaughan "Maybe, but the few friends I had back in the states knew I was never coming back." Amaya gave a small shrug, still not mentioning anything about her parents. "But yeah... I try to see it that way. That I'm here for the others, to kind of help us all get through this."
Upon the question she blinked and looked up at him. "Huh? ... Oh." Looking at her scales she frowned. "Yeah, though it's only the first change out of... four, I think. I can't imagine what it'll be like later..." She trailed off for a moment. "My feet and... tail... hurt the most." It was the first time she admitted to anyone she actually had a tail, but since it was only a little nub, it was pretty easy to hide. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blinked. Four?! there were four changes?! How could you go through that many. He saw the look on Amays face as she told him it hurt to change, jesus, least the could do was make is not physically traumatising if it were to be mental. She even had a tail. Chubbs was starting do feel really pissed, how could they do this to these people thatd been so nice? That Sabin... if he saw him again, bones would be broken. He tried not to show the anger on his face " I hope I don't end up.. like a pig or something. I...." Chubbs decided they needed a laugh " Can you see me like this?" And with that he pushed his nose up to make a snout. Amaya Vaughan Frowning, she looked up at him. Her eyes went wide and she burst into laughter.
After calming down, she breathed out a sigh. "Well, you could always hit that '0' button on the pad in your room and ask what they're turning you into. I haven't just out of fear, but a few people have." She shrugged, still smiling as she rested her chin in her palms. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs remembered the button Sabin told him about on the intercom. He was going to push it tomorrow to find out about his fight. Chubbs scratched his chin, then nodded slowly. " I guess I can..." He pondered what to do now, it felt so useless just sitting here. It was nice though, there were nice people, people that didn't shun him for his size. Well of course they didn't, they were being changed, to judge him would be to judge themselves. Chubbs' thoughts ran through his head, fight, stay, escape. What would he do? He blinked, a thought came to mind and he looked about, wondering if they were being watched. He then leant over to Amaya and began to whisper. Amaya Vaughan Amaya leaned in to hear him, her eyes widdening. "Well... wow. Guess you could do that." She smiled, thinking it might actually work before a thought occured to her.
"... Crap, wait." A sigh escaped her mouth and she grabbed the black hoodie that had been laying behind her, dusting the sand off. "Doctor Moreau has some magic way of conking us out. At the Halloween party awhile ago someone hit Moreau and all he had to say was "Subject Carroll Sleep" and he was out if it... you could probably try, though."
After making sure her hoodie was mostly clean, she pulled it on over her figureless form, dusting what sand had gotten onto it during the process. "Escape seems really hopeless when you add in that factor..." Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs almost pouted. Of course others had to have thought about escape, or even tried, but this magic sleep s**t? It was a big let down, he thought he had a good idea. Maybe it could still work, somehow. Chubbs sighed. " I need people... I need them to need me, like those kids. They make me feel like I have a purpose... I.. I dunno if I can lose that." Chubbs slowly got to his feet, dusting himself as he did. He felt angy, he usually didn't feel like this. " Sleep or no sleep, they'll learn soon enough" Chubbs dusted off his sleeves. He needed something to feel better, turning to Amaya he smiled lightly. " Umm.... come on... we need ice cream" He held out his hand Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled and took his hand, standing up with a jump since he could probably hold all her weight on one hand. Her free hand remained in the pocket of her hoodie. "Not sure if I can eat ice cream. Ever since I changed I'm cold-blooded now... I might just have to call it a night since I'm getting a little chilly." She shivered, her hand the only thing really warm because she was still holding Chubbs'.
As they walked towards the duplex's and cafeteria, she looked up at him. "Think if I call it a night you'll be okay?" Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked over at her, he couldn't feel the cold, he was hotter than heck with his hand in a girls, made him tingle. He couldn't let Amaya go round like this, he made an " O" face as she explained about her cold bloodedness. Letting go of her hand, he pulled his sweater off, he was warm anyway, he had a black t-shirt on underneath. Chubbs draped it over her shoulders and hoped he didn't smell. He did shower and deoderised just before the beach. " I'll....I'll... be okay... it's all setling in" He decided to walk her home instead. Something of a habit forming. Chubbs, the escort service. He blushed immediately thinking that like a male prostitute. " Remind me to cook ya a batch of Chubby chilli... it'll umm, warmya right back" Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled up at him, pulling the sweater he gave her around her form. Despite having a hoodie on, she was still somewhat cold. The heat she normally gathered up was only generated by the sun, which now that it was gone had quickly started to fade away.
"I'd love to try some." She gave him a genuine smile and stopped once she was in front of her duplex, number 20. "Well, just take care okay? If you need anything, don't hesitate to come get me." A clawed finger pointed to the number 20 on her door as she opened it. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs nodded and smiled, looking up at her duplex. " Same goes for you.. if.. erm.. ya need me .. for.. well whatever" He rubbed the back of his head, blushing slightly. Looking to the way to his duplex, he started towards his room. " Thanks again" He waved back to Amaya Amaya Vaughan Amaya nodded and waved as well. "Bye Chubbs, it was nice meeting you!" And with that she vanished into her room, closing the door behind her.

Upon coming back from talking with Chubbs and Anjali, Amaya flicked on her light and let out a sigh as the heat immediantly began to penertrate the layers of clothing she wore. Removing the sweater that Chubbs had given her she smiled at it before resting it on the back of her desk chair. She would have to return it to him later.
After walking into the bathroom she removed her clothing and took a nice warm shower and afterwards got into a nice pair of warm PJ's. Clicking off her light she crawled under the covers and snuggled up in them. Even though she had cried tonight, Chubbs' humor had helped more then he probably knew.
Before she knew it she was in a deep, restless sleep...
"MOMMY!" Amaya bolted upright in her bed, eyes wide. The room she was in was just like the one she had back when she had lived with her parents, but bigger and filled with more toys.
Footsteps came from the hallway before the light clicked on, showering the crack under the door with light before a brown-haired woman in green pajamas opened the door. "Amaya? Is something wrong?" She walked over and sat on the edge of her bed, reaching over to click on her bedside lamp. The woman's hair was almost like brown feathers coating her head. Her hand reached up and brushed some of Amaya's raven locks from her view.
"I had a bad dream. That monsters were coming from my closet." A tiny finger pointed over to the large folding doors that were her closet. A grumble came from a bed a few feet away that was next to her own.
"Your full of crap, sis. Go back to s'eep." The red-head growled before tossing to face away from the light.
"NU-UH!" Amaya shouted, throwing a stuffed animal at her sisters head even though she didn't seem to even notice.
"Amaya, your completely safe. Their arn't any monsters in your closet." Her mother laughed and rubbed her hand on her daughter's back before standing. "And even if there are, Ambrose is here to protect you." She gestured down to the floor, where a large grey dog with pointed ears and a fluffy tail lay at attention by her side. His ears twitched as he listened to the conversation.
The little girl peeked over the side of her bed and smiled, reaching a hand down and petting the dog along it's back. "Yeah, guess yer right."
"See? Now try and get back to sleep?" Her mother smiled and ruffled her hair before turning off the light and walking out, the door closing behind her with a 'click'.
Amaya lay in her bed for awhile, staring up at the ceiling... but sleep didn't come. After awhile she sat up and jumped from her bed, startling the dog and causing him to sit up. It almost reached her own height, being a very, very large dog... almost like a wolf. "I'mma check for monsters... Mom says their not there, but I dunno." Her voice was a tiny whisper to her beloved dog, making sure her sister didn't hear.
Grasping onto his blue collar, she walked over to the closet with the dog at her side; it's long claws clicking on the wooden floor.
Hesitantly she stopped in front of the wooden doors and reached out, pushing them back before rushing back beside her guardian and grasping his collar until her knuckles turned white.
The inside was a swirling black void, pulling air inside it and causing Amaya's black hair to sweep foreward. "A-Ambrose..." She stuttered, stepping back behind him as he stood and lowered his head while letting out a feral growl towards the closet.
Something bright red stirred within, lashing out like wild red hair and wrapping itself around her ankles and ripping her feet out from under her, though her hand still kept gripped to Ambrose's collar. She let out a blood curdling scream as her dog bit at the strange creature, manical laughter coming from within the darkness of her closet.
It continued to pull and tug at her legs until she could no longer hold onto the collar and let go, screaming as it pulled her into the abyss. Tiny hands reached out for Ambrose, but something was keeping him from following her. Instead he ran back and forth barking and snarling at the entrance.
As it got darker and darker her called out to her...
"Be brave..."

By the time Amaya wakes from her nightmare, the strange itching and burning has already begun. Only, unfortunately, the sensation is not as strange as Amaya would like it to be. This time, unfortunately, the peeling/itching spreads in a masklike formation over her face, intensifying on her arms and back, spreading out from where the speckling of shiny green scales already were. Skin peeled away all over her legs, revealing thick green scaling, then on her arms, and face and neck. Down the very middle of her back, along her spine from the base of her skull to her tailbone, longer soft spine-like protrusions began to push outwards, straining against her shirt. However, when they reached the base of her spine, they didn' stop. Intead, the little nub of a tail she had developed began to feel sore, then.... extended, slowly, covered in the small green scales all the way. Then, as if that weren't enough... her already freakishly long fingers and toes began to hurt, ache as they began stretching.... even more... and the existing small claws that tipped her digits dramatically grew out as well, finally leaving her sore.... and changed.

Amaya awoke with a start, sitting up with eyes wide. The dream in her mind had already faded, but that wasn't what scared her. The burning and itching was back and as much as she wanted to block it out, she couldn't. Using the back of her arm she wiped at her face, only to look at her white sleeve in horror as her skin peeled off onto her clothing. She screamed and threw her arm out to try and get it off while backing up against the headboard of her bed.
There she sat for what seemed like an eternity, curling into a ball and sobbing while rocking back and forth. The scales were spreading and her skin felt like it was crawlin with fire ants, their tiny feet itching but their jaws clamping onto her skin and making it burn. Eventually it stopped, but not for long before a new pain made itself known.
Her spine and head throbbed as spikes potruded from her back. Amaya let out a pained sob and curled tighter into a ball as the pain traveled itself down to her spine. The throbbing then increased ten fold as her tail grew even longer and covered itself in the same scales that littered a good majority of her body. Screaming she tossed herself on to the bed and hugged herself with her arms, her legs drawing up so she curled into the fetal position.
Then she felt the same pain in her hands and feet as she did before, but it was worse. She let go of herself and let her hands free so they didn't touch anything as they grow.
No... no, not my hands and feet... Not again!
The pain could have lasted hours for all she knew, time having been frozen by the pain throughout her body. Slowly, after a long while of just laying in silent sobs, her green eyes opened and looked to her hands and feet.
Amaya froze, bile rising up her throat before it forced her to scramble over the edge of the bed and vomit.
Her face scrunched up as she stared at it before vomitting again, her body running cold as she got light-headed and finally fainted.
The young girl lay sprawled on the bed, her head hanging off the side and one of her hands drapping off the bed while the other lay next to her on the bed.

Hargun darted out of her duplex to the sound of a familiar voice's screaming. (Although this time it wasnt the call of an angry Joliette) She ran downstairs and rushed past the 4 duplexes, then back upstairs to #20. Not sure what to do, she slowly walked up to Amaya's door and knocked gently with her elbow.
"Hey... hey Amaya are you okay in there?" she called and leaned her ear to the door, very much hoping thered be some sort of reply from her reptillian friend.

Amaya didn't seem to give any reply, her body not moving from it's slumped over position in her bed. Green eyes remained closed, her short hair hanging down above the vomit she had thrown up not moments before.
Even though the room's light had been turned off, it still seemed humid and hot even with the door closed. Though thankfully this night was one of the few she had left her door unlocked.

A stressful tone reached Hargun's voice. "Its not funny Amaya.. please answer me!" she said, but it was obvious this wasnt any sort of 'joke'. She looked around, trying to think of what to do now.
"Alright.. Im.. Im comming in. Hope youre decent.." she said, not exactly expecting a nakid Amaya or anything to be standing there, but still..
She reached for the doorhandle with both hands and turned, surprised as it clicked, and began to slowly creak open. Why would she leave it unlocked? she thought and slowly walked in, kinda glad there werent any burning bright lights on.. glad of course until she saw the black-haired girl sprawled across the bed.
"OH MY GOD!" she cried and ran to her side and shook her shoulders. It was apparent she had gone through another change, and her skin was very awkward to the touch. She noticed the upchucking over the floor and keep shaking Amaya while fanning her face with her webbed hands, hoping the breeze from it would wake her up. "Come on Amaya.. wake up! Wake up!" she repeated.

Amaya remained silent for a few minutes before coughing, a shudder traveling up her spine. No... she didn't want to be awake. Not now, not ever. The memories of earlier flooded back, along with the strange new feeling of her body. Who was talking to her?
Shaking, her large hands ball up and she hung her head, only opening them once they were forcused on her lap. "H... H..." Amaya tried to say her friends name but all they came out was another cough, starting a sob as fresh tears began to run down her face. As much as she wanted to hug Hargun, she couldn't even raised her hands enough. Her body ached all over, expecially her hands and feet and right now the last thing she needed was to look at them.

Relieved to see that Amaya hadnt died, Hargun kneeled down eye level to Amaya and patted her back.
"its alright.." she muttered, almost crying herself to see Amaya in such pity.
"Look.. do.. do you need some water or something?" she studdered. "Ill get you something if you need it, just stay here and dont worry about getting up.." she said, hand still on her now rigid back while she glanced around the room for some sort of cup.

"Water... would be nice." Her voice was still hoarse and had a disgusting taste in it from vomitting. She scooted farther up onto her bed and twisted around so her back leaned on it's headrest, her tail curling around slightly to keep from being sat on. Just that small movement made her wince, the new limb still throbbing from having grown.
"My hands and feet... really hurt." Amaya closed her eyes, unable to look at herself without wanting to throw up again. Tears still trickled from the corners of her eyes and her shoulders shook slightly.

"Okay.. Ill be right back.." she said and made a quick run for the sink and found a plastic cup that youd often find in hotel rooms, and ironicly a straw, and filled it with nice cool water and made her way quickly back to Amaya. "Here.. do you need anything else?" she asked, and set the glass next to Amaya, leaned up next to her. She looked back and noticed she spilt a little bit on her away over and frowned. But that wasnt such a big issue.
She winced when Amaya closed her eyes, not anted her to see her reaction to the new changes. She couldnt blame her for her fingers and feet hurting.. she knew that pain all too well. "Im sorry.. wish I could do something about the pain." she said quietly and stood next to the bed and watched her, trembling as well herself.

"It's okay... thanks." Trembling, Amaya opened up her eyes and looked at the glass, flexing her new fingers she reached over to it and curled her fingers around it, using two of them to hold the glass up underneath it.
As she sipped from the straw her eyes remained cast downward, most of her bangs hiding her eyes. Every now and then she would let out a sob, but couldn't bring herself to say anything.
After finishing the glass of water, she awkwardly set it back down on her bedside table. "I'm sorry for being such a wimp." How come everyone had faced their transformation better then her? She had even thrown up and fainted and it wasn't even over yet.

"If anyone has the right to be 'sorry', its that awful b*****d Moreau. You know that." she said and pulled up a chair next to the bedside, trying to avid the vomit. There really wasnt much she ould do to clean that up.
"Youre not a wimp." she said. "Lemme go grab a wet washcloth to wipe your face." she said and made another quick trip to the bathroom comming back witha damp washcloth.
Poor poor Amaya. If there was a battle between the amount of pain between fur and scales, surely scales would win. And alas, she was even sprouting a tail, which surely wasnt fun either. And her spine.. probably what seemed to look like it hurt the worst. Well.. this is good. At least youre not freaking out and causing her to get really sad like you did to Ambrose.. she thought.

"Hn..." Amaya was gradually zoning herself out, letting the remains of the shock sort of calm her down a little.
"No, I'm alright..." Slowly she swung her legs off the side of the bed, avoiding the vomit and Hargun's chair. The second the balls of her feet hit the floor her legs started to shake, large hands gripping the side of the bed. Despite the heat in the room she still felt cold and shuddered, feeling like she was going to throw up again but knew she probably wouldn't.
