Kaien wondered how her symptoms escaped his notice. He shook his head and removed his hands from Muse. "There is nothing I can do to ease the pain, but another student - Sebastian Brighton - would be able to offer a little relief." He made no comment yet about how this could have happened. He would speak with Shadow later.

The headmaster shuddered as he felt a small wave of nausea hit him from one of the Gateway ripples. "He'll be in the Gateway house, I'm sure. Please, allow me one moment to call him."

The headmaster flipped open a cell phone and dialed a number. Speaking in low tones, he summoned Sebastian to attempt to alleviate some of Muse's pain. When the conversation was over, he snapped the cover shut and sat in the chair opposite the couch.

While waiting for Sebastian he addressed the girls. "We'll discuss what this means for the both of you in due course. For now, we should be concerned with making Muse's transition as easy as possible."

Muse suddenly grunted as she felt the pain in her wrist grow dramatically, even the area where her teeth were growing seemed to have a slight pain about them. Slowly, Muse tried to sit up, only to get herself propped up enough to look at the Headmaster. "Oy...'eadmaster....please...this is...this is all my fault....I take...full...responsibility......if it wasn't for me...I wouldn't...Ngh...." Suddenly there was a horrid pain in her head again, and after grimacing through it for a short time, she yelped out in pain and her body slowly went limp due to falling unconscious, causing her arm to hang gently from the couch while her body remained still.

Shadow gently draped Muse's limp arm across her body so it wouldn't just hang there. "She'll wake a vampire, the change having taken it's course." She shook her head. "It's not her fault." Now with Muse unconcious, Aria let her eyes wander about the office. She was still terrefied of what the headmaster would do with her, but letting herself get distracted was easier. Little things caught her eye her and there, but mostly she followed patterns slowly, one at a time, until she hardly remembered what she was doing.

Sebastian strode in as the girl became unconscious. Lifting an eyebrow at the Headmaster he said calmly, "You shouldn't have waited so long to call me. None the less..." Crossing the room decidedly, he took a look at Muse's wrist.

He sighed a little sadly. "There's not much I can do, earlier I could have eliminated a lot of the pain - even sated the blood lust that will come as she re-awakens." He did, however, use what power the ripples in the Gateway had given him. Laying his right hand on her forehead he said, "She still has a pretty high fever, I can bring that down, but the rest will have to run its course."

Kaien nodded his head, understanding. If Sebastian had determined that the girl would live through the ordeal, then he had no problems believing that it would be so. "Thank you. I am sorry to have interrupted you."

Sebastian waved his hand. "No need to apologize. I will go now." Stepping out in the hallway, he wondered what it would be like for a human-turned-vampire to walk into Atlanthum for the first time.

"We'll wait until she wakes," Kaien said to Aria, "and then we'll discuss what our next course of action will be. I'm certain you know at least a little bit of how dangerous the Realms are right now. We must acquaint her with all the proper knowledge before we introduce her to her new kinsmen." Let alone tell her parents how this happened. He thought to himself.

Shadow jumped at her name. She listened and nodded, knowing just how bad the Realms were truly getting. "I understand Headmaster." Absentmindedly, she twirlled her fingers in the loose ribbons on her dress, hoping Muse would deal with the change well. Being introduced to her kinsmen, as the headmaster had put it, would be different for Marie, that was for sure. Silently, Aria vowed she would keep her new friend as far from her own parents as possible. They were vampires that this young girl was better off not getting to know.

Eventually, Muse's body was completely still, not even moving to breathe, but eventually, she shot up, sounding as if she were gasping for air while looking around frantically. Her eyes were bloodshot and frantic as she searched for something around the room. Her mouth felt so dry, as if she hadn't had any water for days, and when she caught sight of the headmaster and Aria, she slowly got up, then ran towards the headmaster at full speed in an attempt to bite him as her new vampire mind took over.

Aria had been waiting for this. She shot up right after Muse and tackled her. New vampires could be very dangerous, but if you knew how to handle them, they were managable. "Headmaster! She needs blood, now!" Shadow grunted slightly with the effort to keep Muse from getting the headmaster. Marie couldn't be allowed to feed on anyone. For one, it was forbidden here, and for another, new vampires needed more blood than what a human body could supply. She would kill anyone she got ahold of.

Kaien stood still, knowing full well what he would have to endure. "There is a benefit to being Guardian of the Gateway." He said solemnly. During the transfer ceremony, when the guardianship passed between generations, the Old Guardian was drained of his or her protections and the new Guardian was inaugurated with them. It was similar to a baptism. This baptism, however, used blood rather than water.

He intercepted Muse's lunge and shoved his wrist in her mouth, wincing a little as her new fangs sunk into his skin. He met Aria's eyes and in the suddenly oppressive quiet of the room said, "When I remove her, be sure to hold her secure. She would drain me if she could, but we mustn't allow that."

When Muse tasted the Headmaster's blood, she shivered a bit in ecstasy and held his arm firmly as she began feeding off of the man's wrist. In the back of her mind, she wanted this to stop, but she couldn't control herself, it was as if something was making her do this against her will, yet it was enjoyable. It was as if she were drinking the sweetest flavored beverage and couldn't put it down. As she was drinking, her grip tightened a bit and she could be heard growling a little.

Kaien pulled experimentally away from her fangs, testing the strength of her will. He knew that a fledgling vampire had an insatiable thirst, but he wasn't sure if she would break away on her own. He'd rather not have to use force.

"Muse, can you hear what I'm saying? You need to stop..." He used a gentle voice, appealing to her human mind rather than the ravenous vampire instincts.

Muse heard the headmaster speak to her, and her eyes slowly made their way to his face and she released her grip on his arm, and took her mouth off his wrist slowly, licking the wound so that it healed like Aria did to Muse the first time around. For a moment, she seemed as if she would be regaining herself again, but there was a slight growl as she tackled the headmaster and attempted to bite at his neck near the jugular vein. Her movements were sluggish since she wasn't fully in want of what she was doing, but a sound body would've been able to stop her attack.

Kaien was unable to stop Muse's attack, he'd already lost so much blood that he'd become rather weak. Even the protective magic he had wasn't able to regenerate blood that quickly. Eyes widened he searched the room for Aria.

"A-Aria! Restrain her!" He gasped, gripping Muse's shoulders in an attempt to fend her off.

"HEY! Watcha'! Not cool, not cool!"
Glady's footsteps pounded up the path toward the headmaster's office door, nostrils flared in distaste, ears perked to the sound of the scuffles from within.
Leech? A leech here? A leech here the VERY first day?
'No confrontation.'
No confrontation...
This was NOT going to be a confrontation, at all, this was going to be a good deed, a service. She could constrain herself, she knew she could, definitely!... More than likely?
Well, too late for quams along those lines; right?
Considering she was already yanking open the office door.
Gladys was through the entrance-way faster than most would believe possible, every muscle in her puny body tensed as her entire weight was thrown in one leaping tackle motion at Muse, aiming more to knock her away from the man than anything else at this point.
I mean what else could she do?
Not let him DIE, that would kinda stink- big time.

As planned, Muse was knocked off of Headmaster Kaien and slid into his desk nearby, grunting a bit as she collided with the object. When she shook her head to clear her mind, she looked up at the girl that had attacked her and growled viciously as she slowly stood up and began to slowly make her way towards her, bearing her fangs as she inched closer to her so she could attack. However, this attack would turn slowly awry when Muse suddenly fell to her knees and held her head again, grunting in pain again as she tried to fight her vampire instincts and control herself from hurting anyone else.

The newcomer supprised Aria and she knocked over a chair as she jumped out of the way. Shadow was just about to tackle Muse herself and restrain her when Muse was gripping her head again. With deliberately slow movements and pulled her friend into a hug. Though a hug, it was secure, Marie would have a hard time escaping her grip. "It's ok, calm down. You have the power to control yourself. No one is going to hurt you, I won't let them. And I won't let you hurt anyone else. You're in control." Still unsure of the newcomer, she turned her head towards Gladys and growled threateningly, baring fangs, before turning back to Marie. "It's Shadow. You know me. It's ok." Just then Aria felt a powerful wave from the gateway. Feeling threatened by the situation, it threw her out of balance and she growled at the newcomer again, now making all the shadows in the room dance; still protecting her friend.
