Ok, I think I've wasted enough time doing other things, time to get back into writing. (I had a go at origami and found out that arrows are a strange and difficult language to read)

Ok, I've got to stop procrastinating and generally finding 'excuses' as to why I'm not writing/not posting more here

Yes you do! I'm going to try and compile a thread of writing prompts to help people in your situation smile Hope you get yourself together soon!

So.. almost a year went by.. and my creative writing took a major downturn.
For next year, I'm hoping to start my writing at a completely different point and with a bit of luck (lots of motivation and making myself) I'll actually achieve more than I did this year.

Haha, I wish you the best of luck. I hope you have more success actually writing than you did posting in your journal. Everytime I see the title, I think you're a newbie. xd
What do you mean by a 'completely different point'? Just out of curiosity, and so you have something to respond to if you ever come back.

lol, at the time I named the journal, that was the case.
And completely different point as I'm moving into a fantasy setting. Prior writing was more a futuristic/supernatural setting. Of course, as always, I now have another genre I can actively avoid, thus procrastinating even longer sad

O.o First of all, I'm supised you're not already a fantasy writer- most writers I know are, or have at least explored the genre in a serious way. Secondly, I hope fantasy kicks your procrastination in the butt.
The story I just finished was fantasy, but as oppose to historical- which is what I usually write- I placed in it modern day so I wouldn't have to research as much. I hate writing modern day- teenage girls have too many requirements, like finding boyfriends and hanging out with friends (I don't mind reading it, but I don't like writing it). I would say that the change of time helped me out though- it got my mind turning on something new, so I also stirred up some new ideas that wouldn't be possible before 1950.

Haha, no. I've actually stayed away from anything fantasy for most of it.

Shorter breaks are needed.. without life jumping in and ruining everything.
My cat got hit by a car 2 days ago. This time, she didn't make it sad Cat was with me for 8 years and survived 2 previous encounters with cars, one which broke her jaw, one which caused brain damage.

Oh god! how do you start writing again?? I'm fine if something is printed in the word document I'm working on, but starting on a blank screen? When did this become hard?
