Dragon Sneeze Rozalin gave the twins a reassuring smile and followed Resnik through the doorway, the edge of no return. "Ahhh man I wanted to go first" Russle said to himself."Why ask when he is gonna go in himself anyway?" And with that he follwed in after Rozalin.

Cheveyo's hackles rose ever so slightly; he knew why Reznik had given them that look. But he clamped down on his emotions; it would not do to have petty arguements in so unstable a group. Drawing together all his negative emotions, he locked them away in the back of his mind. Many were the tales of his people of man gone insane. One in particular crossed his mind as he stepped into the gloom after the older ones.
A chilling wail like the howling blizzard winds. The white man asks, "What is it?" We who know cry, "The We-ti-ko."
Catori felt her brother tense for a moment, and wondered what had made him angry (she hadn't noticed Reznik's eyeballing). But Reznik's words were sharp. No trust? But . . . if we are to survive . . . we must have trust. The smile Rozalin gave them, though, reassured her agitated nerves. As she felt her brother shiver, she knew what he was thinking of. And repeating the same mental ritual her twin had performed, followed Cheveyo through into the hotel.

Reznik paused, his body tensed, his mind rushed with images and thoughts, feelings and emotions, sights and sounds.
"We're here."
He looked around, his being became cold, he felt insecure.
"Look out, everyone."
"Keep your wits about you."

Rozalin breathed out and her breath was white against a strangely cold air. She reached into her coat and pulled out three long needles each about 8" long with long paper strips at the end with Japanese Kanji written upon them. Her face was a white mask as she scanned the ruined entryway.

Reznik groaned, his head filled with voices, screaming. He staggered towards a stairwell slowly, unstable. "I...I think I'm going to be sick..." He grunted, heaving forwards. He soon reaches the stairs, leaning on them and retching, but with no outcome. "It's coming..."
"Get ready to meet a real ghost..."

Russel prepared himself although he had no idea how to prepare himself when he was up against a ghost. "Sweet.." he whispered

Cheveyo and Catori had been in the prescence of spirits before; back home in Canada, where in patches the spiritual energies of the ethreal reigned free. But the aura there had been from the Old Ones, benevolent deity-like spirits of nature that blessed the lands and had taught their ancestors their traditions today. The air here was entirely different. Catori flinched, her hands flying up to cover her ears against the unearthly wails and screeches of the dead.
Cheveyo's arms shot out to support his sister, his own brow beaded with cold sweat. He readjusted his glasses as his ebony eyes darted around, searching for the ghost . . . or ghosts. He closed his eyes.
"They're coming . . . they came from the fourth floor."
Catori had begun to chant in their Native tongue, praying for protection and courage. Unshed tears hovered in her eyes.
"Why, why, why?"

Reznik smiled, watching the twins with joy. "So, that's what you are." He chuckled, turning and mounting the stairs, heading upwards, heading for the ghost.
"This ghost, you can't hesitate to destroy it." He grimaced, catching his shabby reflection in a musty mirror.
"Are we all clear on that?"

Cheveyo frowned. Destroy. What an ugly word. But it had to be done. Spirits were, in a sense, emotions bound by a semi-tangible form. Benevolent spirits were emotions in order, calm and harmonious within their confines. Ghosts like the ones within this dark, empty hotel . . . emotions raging like a tempest. He looked down at his sister, still trying to revive from the initial blow of the ethreal prescence. Catori had always been more in tune with the spiritual plane . . .
"They're in such pain . . ." Catori told her brother quietly in Cree, their mother-tongue. "It hurts me to hear them."
"Can you face them?" he asked, brow creasing with worry.
"Only if I don't get too close. These ones have been fixated for a while . . . they've lost their true forms."
Cheveyo nodded, and gave his sister a hug. "We'll be fine, Cat. These people . . . well, Rozalin, Reznik, and Daniel, at least, know these kinds of spirits. We'll just have to adjust from the ones we've met."
Nodding bravely, Catori stablized herself and set her mouth in a thin, determined line. "Let's go Veyo. Reznik may have a bad opinion of us, but I won't let him chew about it later on."
Hand in hand, the twins followed Reznik up the stairs. Unheard by Cheveyo, the raging howls of the dead challenged the group of mortals who had trespassed their realm.
