"Hmph."
Athan's left hand, still holding to the sword, was gripping to the weapon about as tight as it possibly could. The fingers there were dangerously close to triggering the Burst ability of the gauntlet. Athan's right hand opened up, and he pivoted off to his right side, spinning away from the sword and building up some sort of speed for a swing of his own sword. Unfortunately, by the time he completed his pivot, he had Tzenidaar all up in his face.
His sword was too big to be used properly at this range, so he did the only thing he could hope to do.
He shot his forearm up towards Tzenidaar's face, more of an act out of surprise than actual planning.

"UP IN YO GRILL, ******** that was the plan. Only Athan's arm was also all up in Tzenidaar's grill.
Well, that worked out quite nicely. 'Cause he was simply planning on running Athan down and preventing him from performing any actions. Destroy his footing, and he loses striking.
Once he crashed into him, he threw his body upwards and hooked a leg around the back of Athan's in order to crumble his footing once again. Along with his forward charge, this was meant to knock Athan over.

"KEH!"
Athan was in a bad way, and his sword dropped out of his hand to hammer home that fact. Despite his size, Athan wasn't much of a hand to hand fighter. He was a brawler, and packed a good punch, but it definetly wasn't his forte.
And with his sword gone, he lost his only hope of having any balance.
Down went the great oak that was Athan, but that didn't stop him from putting a gauntleted left hand straight into Tzenidaar's face as he went down. Simultaneously pushing back on Tzen's head and cocking back with his right arm, Athan tried hammering on whatever he could get a clear shot on.
Because he knew good and well what the chimera liked to eat.

Well, with a hand in his face, and that gorget around his neck and lower head, there wasnt much to punch at up there.
But that's okay. Tzenidaar didnt mind too much, he still had his two hands to work with. And so he'd be pushing back with his own face, causing Athan to put more force into his left arm to hold him at bay and keep proper distance.
He just sort of felt around during this with his arms to get a good idea what he had in reach, since he was blind and couldnt really see. One thing for sure was of course, his left arm.
So his left hand clenched into a fist, and hammered down against Athan's outstretched arm, across the elbow joint, letting the previous rigidity and his own pushing to surprise Athan and probably throw off his aim for a punch.
And with his right hand, he simply braced himself from slamming his head too far down, by stopping his forward momentum and his own head from swinging down too far, which gave him clearance on vision.
Depending on Athan's punch with his right hand cocked back, well, Tzenidaar might just have some time to throw a punch with his left hand into Athan's face.

Athan wasn't really picky. He'd just be aiming for anything that looked punchable. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to matter too much.
The elbow joint, no matter how strong someone was, was a good way of getting someone's arm to move. Athan's arm bent down when the left hand hammered down. His fist, previously aimed for the side of Tzenidaar's head, sailed wide.
Athan pushed up again with his left hand, hoping to throw off the direction of Tzenidaar's punch just a little bit. He'd try to shift his head out of the way, but let's face it, there wasn't a lot he could do at this stage but hope for a miss.
If not, he'd take the punch as intended, the impact splitting open the previously sealed wound on his forehead, adding some blood to the mud that covered his face.

The fist would probably just sort of barely scrape Athan's face, 'Cause Tzenidaar wasnt throwing his body weight into the punch, it was only a movement of the arm, and when Athan's hand came back up in his face to push him away, there was no resistance against it.
In fact, he threw himself back a bit further after missing the punch just in order to bypass that arm. And then he'd smack the arm to the side with his right hand, and he'd sort of try and swing a leg over and grind it into Athan's face while he pushed himself backwards before getting up.

Athan managed to bring his right hand across his face before the foot could plant there, and he pushed against it as Tzenidaar pushed back, hoping to throw him off balance as Athan regained his own footing.
As he scrambled up to his own feet, his right hand snagged ahold of the sword he had dropped to the ground.
On his way up, Athan spun and then practically sidearmed his sword towards Tzenidaar, the heavy weapon spinning horizontally through the field, completely destroying corn stalks en route to Tzen.

And then he'd sort of drop down again, since he was still on his a**, being pushed around before getting up, letting the sword swing overhead before he sat back up.

Suddenly, an announcement on the Greywater telecom interrupted the greywater employees.
"Attention all Greywater employees. The man who tore through the Greywater base at the water plant has resided within the district of steel. This is an alert for all not bound by a fight to come to the district and resolve the issue."

And Athan came in following the sword, winding up for the rough equivalent of a field goal kick with the toe of his right greave.
Unfortunately Athan had forgot to bring his meanface. All he was doing was looking tired. The voice crackling over his earpiece was a little more than distracting, on top of all that.
Alpha!

Well ******** arms went up to cover his face as he was kicked and knocked over onto his side. Well that hurt. At least not so much as getting bone fractures or anything, since he took it across his left arm which was armoured rather than his unarmoured right.
"Hey, thats my move, ya b*****d."
Athan would have to be pretty close to get a kick in right? Well, time for a simple leg trip. One foot went to the front of Athan's ankle, above the foot, and the other went to the back of his knee. And twist with a roll on the ground.

Alph-UCK!
Things were tough enough that Athan couldn't even complete a thought. His left foot, which was the only one currently on the ground, was trapped just before he was spun around and landed roughly flat on his chest.

And Tzenidaar would roll over, sit on Athan's back, and shove his face in the dirt.
"WELL NOW, TIME FOR APOLOGIZING FIVE HUNDRED FOURTY SEVEN TIMES."

Mm, worms.
Athan planted his hands beneath him and pushed up. Despite his strength, Athan was having a hard time keeping himself up in what amounted to a simple pushup position with a man on his back.
He was extremely tired, having hauled himself up a pipe, taken down a giant robot, run across the entire city a number of times, and rolled around in the mud attempting to fight Tzenidaar.
"I changed my mind."
Athan attempted to roll over from this position, trying to land on top of Tzenidaar before burying an armored elbow into his ribs.

First word right. Second word WRONG. He smashed his hand down in a hammer fist to the back of Athan's head, right at the base of his skull. If he knocked him out, then it was time to drag his new prisoner back to base for interogation. Even if he was on the same team, since Tzenidaar didnt know who he was working with anyway. If not, then Tzenidaar would have to slip over as Athan rolled and try to get up after scurrying away since he didnt keep him down other than push head face into the dirt.
