Oh. There was that funny headache again... Crosscurrent made it to the water, and while the feel was nice the pressure to walk against the wave wasn't. But he was stubborn. As soon as he finally got to thigh-high he pushed her arms from his waist.

Hands over-head with the net on the side, he dove in the shallow depths. Pleased to be emersed. Allowing his tail to re-appear as if unclench his fists.

Dancer smiled lightly as he changed back to the form he loved best. It was him after all. Then she thought, "He never did give me his word." Shaking her head sent the long black hair entangle about her form a bit. Then she sat in the water up to her chest. Just to give him some time alone. Maybe he just wanted some space after all. Being sick tends to make one irritable and short tempered. Still when one is only trying their best it takes its toll after a time. So she was glad for a moment of silence as well.

He didn't enjoy the effort of swimming, but did so toward the right and away. With his energy he was looking for a place to set up the net. No chasing prey. Besides, he'd left his weapon on shore since he didn't need any more weight..

ooc: 1=too sick, finds nothing 11=either finds a spot, or easy prey 20=knows exactly where with a good catch

Dancer splashed a little in the water. Her mood seemed to be falling a little bit. Looking over her shoulder she saw nothing. Fire Bright still wasn't back. She knew her bond would make her smile when he got back. Once the sleek form of her body was wet all over she moved to deeper water. Diving in she looked around for Crosscurrnet. Glancing around in the sunlight she let her mind drift to last night again. That made her smile but only a bit.

Crosscurrent came back somewhat quickly (although time felt lagged) with a net loosely full with a few fish. They were slow and unafraid. Not the the better flavored choice. But he wasn't picky right now. After this he could nap..

He emerged from the water. Coming to the shallow area where Dancer could stand. He himself sat on the on the bottom easily to wait for her.

Of course, he didn't find her. And his mind wasn't up to an kind of complicated thinking. Nor was he willing to go looking for her. He was very content to simple seek a submerged rock to rest on. One where he could see her return (perhaps hunting? Back with the other elves?) without leaving the water. The net dangled where he'd tied it to his wrist.

Dancer didn't really notice that he was back. She was looking at this fish and that fish. Having herself a fine old time till she had to go up for air again. As she surfaced Dancer did a quick scan for Crosscurrent. Reaching the air she gasped softly and sent ever so softly. **How do you feel?** She didn't want to be grumbled at again but she did want to know if the swim helped him any.

ooc: Crosscurrent is going to be asleep for awhile. RL I don't know when i'll be back online. Feel free to have Dancer do as she wills. We might even see if we can invite another elf to play with us... there are too few of us to be isolated.

Anyway, the dice roll: first two numbers are how he rests, last two is his fever

1=Poor/ very bad 11= as could be expected 20=very well/healthy

When she got no reply Dancer swam around a bit looking for him. It took a little time but he was soon found sound asleep on a cozy flat rock. Against her better judgment she decided sleep was best and had to leave him alone in the water. Pulling herself from the water she wrung out long midnight hair and headed back to the cove and everyone else. Just to check one how things are going. One last soft send to the resting fish, **Rest well my friend and call me if you have need of me.**

The Wavedancer dreamed with the blissful sway of the tide against his tail and arms. It cooled his fever even as the daystar rising high made his tanned skin, exposed above the water, warm. A cradle-song for the long-lived hunter barely disturbed by the fish in the net tied to his wrist. Closed eyes protected from the light by pressing in the crook of his arms.

Adin Crosscurrent slept upon a submerged rock: his upper body mostly above the water. And his dreams were a jumble of memories and fancy he wouldn't clearly recall on awakening. Exhaustion held him more then the fever: forcing a healing state when stubborness would have denied it.

An hour passed. Then a third.

Now and then he shifted, but only briefly. The daystar would be almost high in the sky before he woke. Fair bangs curtained his sight when he barely lifted his head to look about. Part of him expected to be in the pool near Eltiln. Some part hoped he was back among his tribe as if this was a nightmare. But the sight of the beach recalled everything, much to his reluctance.

Hours passed. The Wavedancer nibbled on one of the fish, but let the current steal the last of if from his hand. At times he sluggishly slide down into the water to continue making his underwater 'home': napping fitfully upon the rock he'd choosen earlier.

If his catrider friend checked on him he missed her. When the daystar was starting to fall again he finally went to rest below. At one point he swum far far from the shore, his tail slowly shifting to carry him out with no sense of time or distance. It was an open-Sending, distanced to reach other Wavedancers rather then those on shore.

Nearly a whole day passed before the Wavedancer emerged from the water again. Chewing on some of the underwater plants was as helpful as tea to a land-bound. Less effort to eat it and gain strength. His night below had cooled his fever.

To be honest his 'home' was crude: a child-like adaptation. But it had smooth sand for floor that he liked sleeping upon. And as he recovered his mind slowly started focusing on the world around him again.

It might have been figments of a dream when Sendings touched him. It was on the second day since he'd waited for Dancer that he finally came back ashore on two legs with a greater sense of his old strength.

Eating a fruit Adin Crosscurrent basked in the shade lean-to he had made (it felt so long ago!) for Dancer and Fire Bright. The feel of warm salt-air addicting. Now and then he went to dunk in the water before returning to his almost lazy enjoyment.

His tribemates would have thought it was Adir Riverbask there wearing a content smile between bites of his fruit. Only his ears kept track of the possible dangers around him.

ooc: 1=full recovery 11=fine, but feeling weak 20=about to get worse

As the days went by she worried more and more. Dancer hoped her underwater friend was feeling well again. Sitting on the tiger she made her way back to the beach. She had a small basket in her hand of thing she wanted to have him taste or see and one thing to have. Squeezing her thighs a bit cued Fire Bright to move a bit faster. She loved the feeling of being one with him. She was also glad to see him starting to gain the weight he lost back and feel his old self again. After all to her he was her dearest friend and a silly kitty in her eyes. She breathed deep the fresh air of the sea. Starting to get better at sorting other sent's in the air Dancer could make out a faint hint of flowers. She would have to try and find them at some point but not now. Now she was on her was to Crosscurrent to learn how he was doing and keep him from being to lonely. Reaching the beach where he liked to meet she smiled brightly seeing him sitting in the make shift shelter. Still she was a good distance and picked up speed. Long midnight hair blew behind her as blue eyes smiled as much as her lovely little face. As the pair bounded up on the lean to the tiger roared. Not loud but just making noise to hear himself speak. The sound still loud and echoing off the cliffs. Fire Bright bounded to a halt but before he even stopped Dancer was leaping off his back and landing on the sand. "It's good to see you again my friend. How are you feeling now? Not so grumpy I hope." She laughed softly but it was still a bright happy sound.

It was a mark on how relaxed he was that the roar didn't make him jump and dash to the water. Instead he only startled enough to turn his head with wide green eyes.

"I don't do grumpy," he informed his young friend with the patience of a sibling used to be teased. The rest of the comments he let slide away. Eyes slide shut again as he made a slight motion with his fruit-filled hand for her to join him.

"Nobody eating somebody else' animal-friends then? No roasted birds or leg of wolf?" Not that he had expected it, but the animals -could have- seen each other as dinner. This was has close to gossiping as he felt like hinting.

Juice of the fruit trickled down his chin as he neared finishing it.

His comment on not being grumpy made her laugh more. Tossing the flowing hair to one side she moved over to where he was and found a seat. "Nope. No bonds are being eaten and everyone is getting along thus far. They would like to meet you still but if you don't want to I won't push you." Dancer glanced at what kind of fruit he was eating. She set the small basket next to her. "I found something I wanted to give to you. To thank you for taking me under the water with you and for you to remember me if you like." Out of the basket Dancer pulled a small brightly polished stone. It was blue. Deep as her eyes and deep as the waters he loved so dearly. "I thought you could place it in a shell or I could make a band so you could put it around your neck." She shrugged a bit and looked away. Suddenly her face felt hot to her.

Curious he looked over with a lazy tilt of his head. And because Dancer was turned shy she didn't see the chewing stop as his eyes locked onto the stone she held. Like all Wavedancers he was drawn to bright things of beauty. Shifting his weight off his other arm he reached out to gentle take the blue stone. An absent-minded swallow let him speak.

"I'm no crafter, nor shaper of stones,"
he admitted without shame. Admiring how it felt and looked in his tanned palm. Ideas swimming through his mind as he gazed at it. For while he wasn't a crafter he knew a little of the art that he might do more then a few things to a natural treasure like this.

"Sad that no crafters are here either."
His mind having instantly, instinctively, wanting his brother nearby.

After he started talking she looked back at him again. The warm joyful smile made her face alight as she watched him study it closely. "Well we have a lady that is very handy. She makes baskets ties and things from Fire Bright's fur even. She's very nice. He name is Llune. Oh I brought you some things to try if you like. I'm not sure how far into land you go." A look of surprise washed over her face. "Will you let me take you for a ride today? PLEASE... You would enjoy it I bet." Then she reined herself in a bit. "I mean if you feel up to it and all. I'm just a bit over zelious I suppose. As you said all rushing rapids." Dancer chuckled a bit and leaned back stretching out her legs then looking at his. It still amazed her a bit to see them and then a tail. She wondered how long till that was normal to her mind.
