Oops! That verb means to be able, right? It's not that it's hard for me, it's just that I'm not well aquainted with the forms.
Could you give me each kind of verb and it's endings?

eek quite long answer you asked to obtain, young Padawan pirate
Dunque...italian verbs have 3 conjugations: -are -ere -ire, then we have 2 auxuliary and irregular verbs:"avere" and "essere". All of this comes straight from Latin wink
So, examples:1) INGANNARE:
IO INGANNO
TU INGANNI
EGLI INGANNA
NOI INGANNIAMO
VOI INGANNATE
ESSI INGANNANO
2) CORRERE:
IO CORRO
TU CORRI
EGLI CORRE
NOI CORRIAMO
VOI CORRETE
ESSI CORRONO
3) APRIRE:
IO APRO
TU APRI
EGLI APRE
NOI APRIAMO
VOI APRITE
ESSI APRONO

Then there are 2 verbs that "cheat": DIRE and FARE. They are both of the second conjugation although they end with ire and are, because their "true" forms are "DICERE" and "FACERE",from Latin (of course wink )

Other 3 important verbs are -POTERE
-VOLERE (to want to)
io voglio
tu vuoi
egli vuole
noi vogliamo
voi volete
essi vogliono
-DOVERE (to have to)
io devo
tu devi
egli deve
noi dobbiamo
voi dovete
essi devono

These are, more or less, the endings of the present tense. I hope I explained clearly sweatdrop

Molto grazie, firewolf! (come ti chiami?) Ti amo! crying Io capisco.

Now, couldd you answer some of my questions on pronounciation?
1. Do the accents change the sound of the letter?
2. Is the "e" at the end of a word pronounced very shortly?
3. I know that the "gn" is like a n with a tilde in Spanish, but what does it sound like before other consonants?

I hope I'm not annoying you; you're a great teacher! biggrin heart
