I'm Pentecostal. The people who worship with their hands and wierd stuff like that! Lol, I'm pretty sure the Jesus we worship is the same one whether you're at a Luthern church, pentecostal, baptist, but different people like different ways of expressing it. We have this awesome service after church on Sundays where pretty much everyone who loves loud music and definatley being able to feel God as soon as you walk into the room comes, and seriously, it's amazing. Just proves that we all worship God. We're just all at different churches and there's nothing wrong with that as long as we keep remembering WHO we're worshiping!!

Winter, if you're a member of a Baptist church ... you're Baptist. That's your denomination.

Viper, you're absolutely right, it's the same Jesus regardless. Oh, there's a few groups out there with alternate Jesuses (the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses come to mind), but yeah ... Pentecostal, Lutheran, Methodist, whatever, it's all the same Christ.

I was born and raised Methodist, and I refer to myself as such, but I don't really think that matters. I love God, and that's all I really need.

hi!
i just requested to join this guild today.
i was brought up Baptist and learned all the "Bible lingo". then when i went to college i really started questioning God and having issues with the way God has things set up - His rules.
then after i got married at the age of 21, i finally put my faith in Christ Jesus and got born again.
i began attending a Fundamental Baptist church in the chicago suburbs and became a member. It was at that church where i learned the most Bible i had ever known in my life. My life changed, I served God with excitement and zeal.
I currently do not attend any church, but i consider myself Fundamental Baptist as my beliefs are pretty much the same as what they believe.

So you follow Calvinistic theology?

Can not remember if I ever posted this but I am a Pentecostal. Our church was an open bible church, but we recently severed official ties with open bible, because they did not accept our articles of faith. sad However, locally, we keep up our fellowship and connections with the open bible community. We are also very activly and excitedly involved with hosanna ministries, an outreach to Haiti.

No, Catholicism broke from Orthodoxy in 1054 over the issue of the authority of the Pope and the inclusion of the Filoque into the Creed.

And yes, we do hold that Christ came to bring Salvation to the fallen world.

We would not take a viewpoint however of "I will be saved", as we see that to rest upon the last judgement of man by Christ, and as Paul states, we run the race to win lest we be disqualified at the finishline.

This is a good little 2 minute video that explains this well from the Orthodox point of view.

just got accepted today...i'm raised in a methodist church and i also like the way pentecostals raise their hands and shouting and/or crying during worship.. ^__^

but regardless of the different ways to worship, It's still the same God whom we are worshiping and that's what really matters

Very interesting. Nice to see someone else who adheres to ancient Christianity. I have a long video here:

Although I'm Catholic, I understand Eastern Orthodoxy more because Protestantism is much..... much different from the two than the two are different from each other.
