R.J.'s eyes got wide. "You mean, you only started a couple of years ago, and you're already that good?" He let out a low whistle. "Talk about natural talent..." he trailed off, obviously in awe of this guy.

Alex gently bows his head, "Why thank you. Though I did have a lot of free time to practice. I never fit in at my old school so I had a lot of me time. Though I suppose if we liked our previous schools we'd all still be there right?"

R.J. chuckled. "Well, I came here so I could get into Juliard, but yeah, my last 'school' wasn't that much fun." He'd been homeschooled since he was twelve. Before that had been the place that he'd only gone to for three hours a day, and every day of the week was devoted to one subject. And before that had been the weird place where nobody got any grades and all the kids sat in bean-bag chairs. And before that had been the place where everyone was barefoot, and people called you whatever you wrote on your nametag that day. And before that had been the school where you only had to do the assignments that interested you. And before that, he couldn't remember.
"Actually, I was homeschooled before this. And before that, my parents sent me to a bunch of 'experimental education' schools. They used to be hippies when I was little." He neglected to add 'but then they had their real family'. He was a little bitter about how everything changed when Nikky was born. "What about you, Kiki? This beat out your old school?"

R.J. flushed a little, a bit embarassed. "Well, like I said, my folks used to be hippies." he gave a brief description of two of the weirder places. "Stuff like that, you know."

"I know," R.J. said with a laugh. "But then, it was fun too. I guess."

Alex puts his feet up on the row of seats in front of him, "Ah, well as long as you had fun that's what matters."

((sorry; been busy lately.))
Kiki listened intently as the two boys in front of her carried a conversation. She was just fine to just using her ears for a bit. She was taking in alot; Alex had only started a couple years ago on the violin, and yet he made it here?! Raw talent there; that was pretty good.
She also felt her heart skip a beat metion that RJ had actually been homeschooled as well; and with strange yet exciting learning strategies to boot. Very nice; so she wasn't alone on that note. Perhaps there was some hope here after all....
Upon the question, she froze mind-wise for a sec, then decided on the spur of the moment to answer truthfully. "Well, actually, I've been homeschooled for as long as I can remember. My mother's a music teacher, and someone was hired to come in and teach the basics to me. Mom's little student, you could say." she shrugged, not mentioning her brother's anger at being overlooked and the recent problem she knew not much of.

Alex looks over at her, Oh really, boy two homeschooled people at once, how unusual. I suppose if I got along better with my family that might have been an option. Plus the drama of high school can be quite entertaining."

R.J. was glad to know he wasn't the only homschooler here. He was begining to like Alex and Kiki; perhaps they could all be friends. "Well, I'm going to change out of my practice clothes. Do you guys want to meet up later?"

At the sound of "meeting up" later, Kiki realized that this was actually working and she was making some friends that weren't on the internet: yes yes yes! "Sure, sounds like a plan to me." she answered cheerfully.
Yes yes yes!

"Sure, well I'm gonna stay here and play a bit longer, but I'm in 303, call my room number whenever you feel like."
