The Human begins to chuckle in a low, nasty way at your statement, obviously amused. "You talk pretty big, fella. But apparently, you don't do very good math. It seems to me that your just a tad bit out-numbered to be yapping so tough, if you get my meaning. Now, how bout you hold up, and pay your taxes, before me and my crew start to get ugly." At his rejoinder, the Wardogs begin to growl, while the Imps begin their own nasty laughter; however they seem content to await the pleasure of their commander before taking any further action.

Varni's lips started to form a small smile at the thought of a fight. Lucky for him, he was able to hide it well though. "It may be we are out numbered, but skill prevails over all..." He said to him self quietly. The rope was starting to make his wrists itchy as they stood there, and scratched at them a little bit, hoping he could get the rope off soon.

Maigo looked around slowly, checking for any more attackers. There didn't seem to be any, but that didn't mean that there weren't any more around. If it came to a fight, they'd want to get it over with quick. It hadn't come to a fight yet though.
Maigo walked over to stand beside Clendyx, trying to appear as tall and threatening as possible. She was almost six feet tall and the stolen clothing made her look bulkier than she normally would. It was too bad she didn't have a weapon in hand, she would just have to rely on looking threatening.

He handed the rope to Maigo, and drew his sword with both hands, like a real mercenary would, and pointed it straight at the one who had spoken. "Do you see this blade? It's taken the lives of people filthier that you. Either let us through, or..." He fingered the necklace in plain sight, "...I'll add some more ears to complete my collection, eh? How many of you have been able to catch a dwarf? In fact...how many of you have ever seen a full-sized fireball go right into some goblin's arse?" He gestured to Maigo with a deep bow, and held up one of the ears, which was a bit singed. "I think it was this one. Or even, maybe, we'll take OUR bounties from you! Imps pay a lot this time of year," he threatened menacingly.

The Human Slaver steps back, seemingly intimidated by your display of bravado. Mustering his dwindling courage, the man says,"Here now, no reason to get all offended; I'm just doing my job is all. Now why don't you hand over 100 chips, and I'll let you pass, no muss no fuss. There's no reason we can't handle this like civilized folk, is there?" While the human is making his statement, you notice that one of the Imps appears to be edging away from the conversation; why you're not sure, but you have your suspicions.

He shrugged, and said, "Fine by me." He also made a curse under his breath, knowing he had nothing on him. As he was reaching for his pouch, he noticed the imp slinking off, and he pointed in that direction, "Stop, thief!" He hoped that the others would turn on the imp, thinking he had robbed them.

The Slaver turns and stares at the Imp, glaring in open hostility. Giving him a thorough look, the Slaver turns back to Clendyx with a sneer on his face. "Nice try, maggot. But he knows better than to try and steal from me. Now hand over the chips, or things are about to get real nasty round here..."

Maigo felt that things were getting out of hand fast. In a last ditch effort to bully their way through she decided a show of force was in order. Summoning her magic, Maigo formed the largest fireball she could in the palm of her hand. Knowing her voice would betray her disguise, Maigo just bounced the fireball menacingly in her hand waiting for the slaver to back down or Clendyx to give the signal to attack.

Clendyx drew his sword, going right along with his disguise, and put the edge right at the man's throat. "What did you call me?"

As you draw your sword a ?second? time, the Slaver leaps back, an eager look upon his face. "Well, it looks like we're going to have to teach you two a lesson, after all! Don't worry, if you fail you don't die; your much to valuable for that!"

Maigo quickly snuffed out her fireball conserving her magic. She knew that it would be less effective here than summoning her guardian. Her other hand quickly flew to her neck, and after glowing bright blue, her guardian once again stood in front of her. That out of the way, Maigo summoned up her energy to power up her magic for her next attack.
Seeing the goblin war dog coming at her, and content that the slaver could be blocked by her guardian, Maigo leaped in to attack.
