"Well, if you say that you are all right," Steven replied as Ally stood up. He also went to finish packing up his school work.
He was walking Ally to the door when she had asked him the question. Walking over to the case to look at the knife as well, Steven took out a small key and opened the case to pick up the blade. "This knife I got while my family was stationed in Eastern Europe. In Romania to be exact," he explained while holding up the polished knife. The knife was very light and easy to hold. This was the knife that Steven always would use to perform magic, and he had grown very attached to the blade. "Now c'mon, let me walk you home tonight. 'Kay?" he said putting the knife back in the case and closing it.
Steven started for the door, put his shoes on, and told his mom where he was going, before turning back to Ally and beckoning her to follow.

"For the record," Tim said to Kero, "I believe you about being magic now."
Kero flashed a grin, then turned back to the supermarket. Suddenly he pushed Bree and Timmy to the side. "Get down!" A bolt of light shot right where they were standing a second before. Tim crouched behind a post box, clutching the staff. "How the hell are we supposed to fight that?!"
Kero waved at their staffs. "You've got to get it to stand still. Hit it or something. Then point your staff at it and say, 'Return to the guise- or form- you were meant to be in.'"
"That easy, huh?!" Tim said as another shot rang out, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Ally walked with Steven as he was escorting her home. She thought to strike up a conversation, but tonight walking in silence sounded better.
They were about halfway to her house when she heard some noise followed by some quick flashes of light. At first she thought it was someone shooting off fireworks or something, at least until she recognized the presence she had felt this morning on the way to Steven's house.
"Hey Steven, let's check out what's going on over there," Ally suggested. She moved in front of Steven and gave him a big smile. "It would only take a second, and it could be fun."

Steven stopped in his tracks as Ally cut in front of him, and giving him the face on top of that. Truth be told, Steven was not really interested in what might be going on, but he didn't see any harm in doing so either. "I guess we can go check it out if you want. And it is Friday, so it might be a party," Steven said with an indefinite shrug of his shoulders.
He then moved past Ally and started to walk towards the source of the commotion.

{{ meganargetlam's post. she's still not accepted }}

Bree ducked, what was she supposed to do? She stared at the thing in fear. It was everywhere! Eek! She rolled over, and looked at Tim with a 'What's going on?' face.

((Can't exactly try can I? XD I have to wait for Shot...))

(( sweatdrop Still tryna think that through. But I got a request on another Card to do after this one, so in order to get my main Card, I think I'm gonna do this... ))

Tim started when Bree rolled to their hiding spot. "Kero's thinking of a way to beat it!" He relayed what Kero had said about the spell and keeping SHOT still. "Any ideas?"
Before she could answer, the pink beam hit the concrete close to them and Tim got thrown to the side, his ears ringing. He quickly scrambled over to some hedges, using his staff to push aside the leaves. He couldn't see any sign of Bree or Kero. The SHOT had come out of the store now, but all Tim could see of it was a fast moving redish-pink ball.
This is nuts! How were they supposed to deal with something like this? He put his head into hand, furiously thinking. As he did, he noticed something sticking out of the dirt. The corner of some brownish yellow thing. He didn't know why he reached for it; for all he knew it could've been a piece of trash. But he lifted it up and brushed the dirt off. It was a card, with the same sort of designs that had been on the Book. "There's no way I am that lucky," he breathed. He turned it over. On it was a picture of a round bunny thing. He read what was written below it. "Jump?"
In his kneeling position, his hand was resting on his sneaker. Right as he said the word, his hand was pushed off by something. He reeled because of the sudden loss of leverage, and almost pitched forward out of the bushed. He put a foot forward, hard, to try and balance himself. The moment he pushed, he flew into the air, his cheek getting scratched by the branches and then he was suddenly free, the warm night air whistling past his ears. He could see the ground, and SHOT, falling away from him, and he windmilled his arms to stabilize himself. He discovered he didn't need to, as his ascent was quite controlled. He lifted about fifty feet above the ground.
And then he started falling.
He scrambled in the air, yelling, and began falling faster, toward the roof of the supermarket. His feet were aimed straight at it, and he covered his eyes trying to brace for the impact. He waited... and waited... Where was the bone-crunching drop? He tentatively opened his eyes. He was on the roof. He had landed as light as a feather. He took in a shaky breath and looked at his feet. Off to each side of them were small wings, about two-inches each. He looked at the card he was still holding. "So," he said, his voice still a little shaky, "JUMP makes you jump. Go figure."
He looked back at SHOT. He yelped and Jumped super-humanly quick to the left as it shot at him, missing him by a fraction of an inch. He landed light ten feet away, still on the roof.

Steven simply stared at the scene that was unfolding in front of him. There was a boy who was jumping around like he was being pulled by a zip cable, a floating pink thing shooting at said boy, and a girl standing next to a floating doll. Steven went over this information multiple time and came to his conclusion. Magic.
Now, his first thought afterwards was to just let them be, but then thought that he should lend at least a little help since he himself was a magic user. Steven made up his mind and rushed towards the commotion. When he was about ten feet away from where the Kero was, he stopped to watch how the boy was doing again. "What in the world is going on here?" he thought out loud.

((Boo! I'm back ^.^ Yays!))
Bree stepped out from her place. She raised her wand, and yelled. "HEY! YOU!" She wasn't exactly thinking the plan through, just doing whatever came to mind. She waved her arms in the air. "HEY! SHOOT ME!" Where did that come from? But SHOT... shot stuff right? Maybe if it came towards her she could do something.

Kero was surprised and pleased that Tim had found the JUMP. OK, more than likely he bumbled onto it, but still, it was probably a good sign.
Just then, a boy ran up behind them, asking what was going on. Humph. It was the magic user he'd sensed before. He hated young mages, always so arrogant. "Stay out of it, kid," was all he said before turning back.
Bree was yelling at the rampant Card to shoot at them. This girl was either very crazy or very brave.

"You gotta get it still. Get it off-balance or something; just make it vulnerable. Then point your staff at it and say, 'Return to the guise you were meant to be in. Clow Card.'" He looked down at her. "Put some emotion into it for Peat's sake. Your first spell was about as boring as a five year old performing Shakespeare. The basic strength of your magic comes from emotion. You don't really need all the theatrics, but it certainly helps a novice channel their energy."

--------

Tim was getting tired of dodging this thing. He leaped high into the air again, wind whooshing past him. He could see Bree and Kero down below. She was waving her arms, yelling something. He abruptly realized she was trying to get it to shoot at her, and felt a surge of gratefulness for his partner. Did they count as partners yet? On its tail was a feeling of fear for her.
He fell down like a rock and landed like feather on the roof, just as the SHOT was turning toward her. He scooped up a rock and chucked it at the pink orb. Cupping his hands, he yelled at Bree. "I'm the one with a Card! Let the thing shoot at me! You figure out how to stop it!"

"I CAN'T STOP IT IF ITS GOING AFTER YOU!" SHOT came at her, and she had heard Kero. "Five year olds do very interesting Shakespeare!" She snapped.
Bree raised her wand above her head, and hit SHOT. SHOT froze, and Bree took a deep breath.
"Return to the guise you were meant to be in!" She shouted. "CLOW CARD!"
In pink swirls, SHOT disappeared. The swirls reformed themselves into a card, which floated over to Bree. She plucked it out of the air, and blinked. "I-Is it mine?"

(( Thanks ^.^ I really didn't want to delete mine))

Tim blinked. Bree had made the thing disappear. Poof, just like that. He hopped down, landing in front of her and Kero. He stared at the Card in Bree's hand. "That was... cool." He grinned, and the wings on his feet faded away. "Not bad for our first mission, eh, flying-yellow-plush-doll?"

Bree stared at the card, then at Kero. She tucked the card in her pocket, and spun her staff around in her fingers. She sat down on the curb, and stared at Kero. "This... isn't a dream."

Kero shrugged nonchalantly, but he was smiling. He hadn't realized how much he had missed these kinds of thing. "Nope, not a dream. Much better." He addressed both of them now. "The Card is yours official once you write your name on it." Beaming, he continued. "Your missions will get easier the more you stretch your powers. And now that you each have your own Cards, we'll get the rest easy."
He stretched and yawned. "But not tonight. You two deserve a good night's rest after that."
Tim nodded, but he didn't think he'd be able to sleep tonight; he'd felt exhilarated. Terrified, yes, but tapping into the raw energy of magic was a great feeling.
He tucked the Card away and wondered where he was going to put his staff. As if in response to his thought, the thing burst in a shower of gold particles which quickly dissipated. Tim reached out and caught his necklace, stared at it for a moment, then slipped it back around his neck.
Kero was pointedly ignoring the kid who was still standing about ten feet away from them. He didn't feel like offering any explanations.

Bree's wand went back to its hidden form. She put it back on her wrist, and looked at Kero. She grinned. "So, where are you going to stay?" She asked Kero. She took out a pen from her pocket, and quickly wrote her name on the card. She looked at Kero, and tucked the card back into her pocket.
