Youkochylde Smiling, Youko nodded and trailed his finger over Kendall's ears as well. He nearly felt his breath catch in his throat as one of them yawned softly, making a faint cooing sound. He thought he was going to cry. "So..." he said, clearing his throat around the lump there. "Still going to kill me?"

Karma raised her eyes and looked at Youko levelly for a moment.
"I'll give you a head start." she muttered. "I imagine you'll have about a week to flee the country, change your name, and get plastic surgery so I can't find you before I recover enough to be able to heft a sledgehammer." she paused a minute, wincing at the pain in her strained belly and lower regions "......or you can get me some Epsom salts next time you're at the drug store and we'll call it even ....oww...."
As she moaned, Raven stirred on her chest and began to whimper, nosing blindly at her rumpled blouse, apparently hungry. Karma shot a brief glance at the doorway, wondering why the doctors hadn't come in to take them yet...especially given that they were prematurely born...
...and then her chest began to ache horribly at the sound of the baby's muffled fussing, making her wince. Wow...when one part of her wasn't hurting, another part was just itching to start in. What next? Was her nasal cavity going to explode the first time she changed a diaper...?
Looking to Youko warily and then reminding herself with exasperation that it was nothing he hadn't seen before, she clumsily undid her buttons and awkwardly placed Raven at her left side to feed her.
"....is it wrong of me to feel jealous of my daughter?" Dave inquired, reaching out to gently run a finger over the back of the little girl's neck.
"Dave...I'm holding a baby and can't reach you to smack you right now..." she sighed.
"Sorry...want me to move closer?"
"No, but you could go see what's keeping the nurses...." Karma suggested. It wasn't that she wanted to get rid of her babies, but she was worried for them...so much could go wrong with premies if they weren't taken care of and she supposed hers and Youko's were no exception...

Youkochylde Pulling a chair over to the side of hte bed, Y ouko reached to scoop Kendall into his arms and cradle him as Karma fed Raven. He curled into the chair then, smiling as he watched the little boy carefully. This one seemed more than willing to just doze at the moment, and caught hold of Youko's hand tightly to cling to it. "I'm sure the nurses wouldn't have gone off if there was anything wrong with them. And they'll probably be happy to know that we dont' have to bottle feed them. One of them, anyway." Chuckling, he watched Karma and peered towards their daughter. "I wonder when we'll be able to take them home?" His next thought, however, brought him back to the spot he'd been in when they'd first arrived. Envy! "Aw crap, I need to call him or he's gonna kill me." Picking up the phone, Youko balanced Kendall in his lap and called his house. It only took a few moments of hushed speaking before he hung up and smiled sheepishly. "I think he'll be here soon."

Karma nodded once in acknowledgment, not lifting her eyes from Raven as she fed. As much of a relief as she knew it was going to be to have her body to herself again, part of her wished she was still pregnant...now that the babies were out, they were going to be a lot more of a handful than they were back when they were tapdancing on her bladder or waking her up at four in the morning insisting that a grilled cheese sandwich with strawberry jelly sounded like a good idea.
"Anybody else I should be aware of coming to visit...?" she asked, not sounding resentful, just distracted and tired as she adjusted the pink blanket they'd wrapped Raven in a bit so she wouldn't catch a chill.

envy_fairchylde A loud commotion sounded in the hall as a few of the nurses and a security guard headed passed the door and towards the nurses' station. "Oh c'mon... you people act like you never seen someone with a headband and make up on before," a familar voice hissed further donw the corridor. "The furry my lifemate got pregnant just had a baby. What kind of trouble could I be here to cause?" Several moments later Envy stepped in the door, smoothing his trenchcoat and grinned at the room. "Oh.. hello everyone. Hey they're here!" He ran over next to Youko and peered at the twins curiously.

Youkochylde Chuckling, Youko rolled his eyes. "Always one to m ake a grand entrance... you didn't hit anyone, did you?" Youko held up the sleeping Kendall so that Envy could see and nodded towards Karma. "Raven's over there... she's a bit hungry." He smiled at Karma then and reached to scratch behind her ears gently.

Karma made a half-hearted teasing attempt to bite Youko's hand as he reached for her ears, accompanying it with a growl, but didn't press the issue...she wasn't in the mood to be a b***h anymore.
That would come later....namely the first time she attempted to pee after all the trauma she'd just undergone.
The foxcoon offered Envy a lopsided smile before sinking back against the pillow. Against her breast, Raven's feeding slowed and she began to doze off again. Karma waited until she was sure the little girl was done before gently drawing her away and shifting her to her shoulder where she rubbed and patted the infant's back firmly until she was rewarded with a small, barely audible burp.
She hesitated, reluctant to let the little girl go, but then offered her to Envy to hold. "Careful...she's loaded."

envy_fairchylde "Absolutely not," Envy pouted at Youko. "You know that I prefer other kinds of physical exercise. So I just 'convinced' the guard and nurse walking me out that they were made for each other and left them in a linen closet." He winked at the fox and wiggled his finger in Kendal's tiny hand until he caught hold of it. "They're so small. Is that normal?" EDIT: Envy's ears and wings drooped noticably and wrapped his arms around the little girl. "Gee.. thanks Karma. Love you too." He tried to hold the baby as still as possible hoping he wouldn't trigger anything. "Is there be a particular end I should be expecting projectiles from?"

Youkochylde "Either end," Youko replied, snickering softly. "When my nephew was born, you never know what the hell was going to happen. Either way, we went through a lot of baby wipes and my shirts all had shoulder-stains." Kendall, meanwhile, was half asleep, staring dazedly around himself and yawning again before nestling into the blanket some more.

Karma resituated her shirt self-consciously, the side Raven had been feeding off of feeling better, but the other side still hurting like hell. She hoped Kendall would want to eat soon too...and then that both of them would sleep while SHE got a chance to rest.
She watched as Youko and Envy both held the twins and closed her eyes for a moment, taking a moment to herself to make sure she was okay...she was going to NEED to be okay to be keeping up with two infants...and then two toddlers....and then two boisterous squealing kids...and...
oooohh, no now wasn't the time to think about that. She didn't need a headache on top of everything else.

Youkochylde As if having a bit of an idea of what she was thinking, Youko rested a hand on her shoulder and handed over Kendall, who was starting to fuss. "You're not going to be by yourself," he whispered, nuzzling against her cheek for a moment. "You know that, right?"

Karma's eyes opened again as she felt Kendall being nudged back into her arms. "I know...doesn't stop me from worrying, though." she sighed. "I'm not going to be able to relax until we find out for sure if they're going to be okay." she added, opening her blouse again and placing Kendall at her other side to feed him as well. After he'd been situated and was placidly feeding, looked up once more.
"That and this makes visitation all that more difficult now that we have two of them. I hope they aren't going to be the sorts that accuse either side of playing favorites when we switch off with who's staying with who..."

envy_fairchylde Envy looked up at Youko's voice, his attention having become absorbed by the little one snoozing on his chest. "Of course you're not. Although I'm probably the last person in the world that should be even an extra parent," he added with a soft chuckle.

Youkochylde "If they start yowling about favouritism, we'll deal with it then. For n ow, however, I don't think we have to worry about it." He settled back into the chair, watching Karma and Envy, and snickering faintly when Raven started to wriggle in Envy's grasp. "At least there's two nurseries, so there's plenty of room for both. It would be nightmarish if we weren't at least somewhat prepared."

envy_fairchylde Envy began to frown as Raven grew more fussy and looked plaintively at Youko and Karma. His thoughts were plain on the incubus' face. Please take her....
