*shrug* I have a brother and have been a tomboy for most of my life, so maybe that's why I'm okay with it.

I'm still something of a tomboy; it's just hard to do it when I'm writing. Anyway, almost done with my profile.

Okay, here it is.
Jade Scythe Player: LunaZol
Born 1704, but is still about 20.
Personality/Likes&Dislikes: Jade is one of those quiet types who, given the choice, sits quietly in the corner wearing a cat-like smile that makes your skin crawl. She never seems to be confused or even ruffled, and she has a certain something in her expression or manner that suggests lazy amusement even when circumstances are at their most dire. With a personality like this, rumors tend to circulate, rumors of deals made with mermaids. Is she sleeping with the Captain, or is she his sister? Jade confirms nothing, and she denies nothing.
In spite of this enigmatic show, she is perfectly willing to follow orders, though, of course, her own safety always comes first. She doesn't offer her opinion unless it's asked for, and has no problem with shouldering her share of work as a part of the crew.
History: Jade Scythe was born as Jane Smythe to Joseph and Anne Smythe in December of 1703. Her mother worked in a ladies' hat shop, and her father was a barber; she was expected to find a similarly respectable job, though not one that was too far above her station, of course.
From an early age, however, little Jane showed a troubling lack of interest in such gentile pursuits; more disturbing than that, she showed anti-social tendencies and a disregard for the safety and rights of those around her. She understood what she was supposed to do, and most of the time it appeared she was doing it. She knew she wasn’t supposed to steal, and no one ever caught her at it; she knew she wasn’t supposed to loose patience with those who annoyed her, and she never seemed to. So what if those people often seemed to end up having unfortunate accidents?
When she was thirteen, Jane disappeared. Her heartbroken parents assumed she’d been kidnapped, and, after a year, had her declared legally deceased. The girl was, of course, anything but. She’d decided she’d had enough of small game, so she disguised herself as a boy, snuck aboard a boat she’d heard was a suspected pirate vessel, and, within a few hours, was the official cabin boy. The rest, as they say, is history.
Just when the cold female pirate now known as Jade Scythe was becoming relatively well know, she disappeared for real, off the face of the earth. Her crewmates whispered amongst themselves, some swearing that the very mist of the open sea wrapped around the girl’s waist and spirited her away. In any case, she was never heard from again, and quickly became nothing more than a ghost story whispered on the decks of ships between watchmen.
Jade herself remembers very little of this; her past is hardly more than a colorful blur. She can’t even remember arriving on the island. She serves under Hook, and has for as long as she can really remember. It’s all she knows, so who is she to question?
Skills include: Jade is an excellent swordswoman and a passable shot with a pistol. She’s fairly agile; she can’t do backflips, or anything like that. She knows how to operate any part of a ship, and is also extremely adept at cards.
Description: Jade’s height is nothing to brag about, but she isn’t really short either, probably between 5”5 and 5”6. She has the tanned skin of someone who spends most of their time in the sun, though it hasn’t had time to become weathered by the elements, or perhaps she just takes special care of it. She has the slight but strong build of a practiced fencer, which makes sense, and unremarkable but fully feminine curves. Her hair is dark brown, with streaks of sun-bleached blonde on the top, and reaches to the middle of her back, though it’s usually tied into a practical knot at the back of her head. Her face is a smooth oval with a small, delicate nose, fairly prominent cheekbones, and a pretty but unexceptional mouth. Her truly standout feature is her eyes, enormous, unfathomable jade-green eyes that always seem to sparkle with cool amusement.

Ooooo. Very nice, indeed. I happily welcome Jade Scythe to the crew of the Jolly Rodger!
One question; you said that she was born in 1704, but then you later say that she was born in December of 1703. Is this because it's the end of the year, or what? You don't need to change it, necessarily, I'm just curious.

Wow! This is an amazingly creative idea for an RP! I would absolutely LOVE to join, if you still are in need of characters...
Do you have a Captain Hook yet? I do believe I would have quite a bit of fun RPing him. He's so adorable with his codfish-ness. ^.^ Ah, how I love characters that pretend to be all vicious, and then get scared by something and start acting like helpless little 2-yr-olds.

mrgreen Yes, we are still in need of characters, and no, we do not have Codfi- I mean a Hook yet.
I don't know why I do that with the picking out of tiny discrepancies, and I know it's annoying. sweatdrop Sorry, LunaZol. It is obviously a completely mind blowing profile.

Thanks! I don't mind, anyway. Yes, I did say she was born in 1704 because it was at the end of the year.

... You don't have any lost boys yet, do you? I guess they aren't excessively plot important, whereas Hook is, but if you need one lost boy immediately, I can play him instead. Just because there is already one pirate, but no lost boy...
It seems like you really want to start soon though... so hehe. I'll work on my Hook form. wink
